Hi,

I created a new thread as the old one is reaching its limit.

OP posts:

I just phoned and no updates yet for me, asked for it to be put on system to text me and notify me if awarded. Probably will still call daily. Had such a strong feeling today I would have an answer Confused

gingergingerginger · 15/11/2022 09:56

What I don't understand is why the system is still so archaic. Here's my idea:

Take the majority of it online (with alternatives for people who need them). Create some kind of online portal where we can make the application itself, upload additional info (or post if necessary). And then make it so that we can log in to that same online portal and see the status of the application. It could show that it has been recieved, if it's waiting, if it's with a DM, when it's awarded and what the award is.

Allowing us to see that information would free up a bunch of telephone operators, who could then potentially be redirected to Decision Making, thus speeding up the whole process. Surely more efficient all round, no?

Oh, and also a government that actually funds public services might help too.

Scan date 12th August had a phonecall this morning asking questions then 20 min later a text to say he qualified. Goodluck all xxx

Shellbel10 · 15/11/2022 11:27

Great news. Did they call off a number or was it with held

Sammi85 · 15/11/2022 11:35

My scan date was 17th August called today no decision made yet. So not sure if that means it's with the dm and they haven't decided yet or not with the dm at all yet? I'm new to all this so didn't think to ask.

barnsleylass86 · 15/11/2022 12:03

@Gemma96x my son was awarded friday the 4th of november . However the decision maker had checks on them .( They are random as with large amounts of money being processed all of the time sometimes they will need to be checked.) They told me to call Friday just gone and it still hadn't been actioned. So called yesterday and was told it had been actioned Friday and money should be with me by tomorrow. It may be that yours was one to be checked too xx

Kirsty111 · 15/11/2022 13:01

I can’t work this out either everything else is done online why not this, the process would be so much quicker, hopefully my wait will be over soon fingers crossed

Momto3smalls · 15/11/2022 13:30

Does anyone know if they do more checks with school and doctors etc before it goes to dm or if they do that ? What's the average it stays with the dm?

Momto3smalls · 15/11/2022 15:25

My gut feeling was correct I've just had a text to say my son qualifies and I'm calling to find out rates! So so happy!

Shellbel10 · 15/11/2022 15:32

Your were right @Momto3smalls great news. When was your scan date

Colettet · 15/11/2022 16:06

Does anyone know if they will accept your call without your reference number?

Colettet · 15/11/2022 16:07

Oh and the best number to call if they don’t need the reference to chase up my application? Thanks

MissRedd · 15/11/2022 16:21

Colettet · 15/11/2022 16:06

Does anyone know if they will accept your call without your reference number?

Yes they will, they'll ask other questions instead e.g. bank names to verify the application details you wrote down.

You can give them a call for a Change of Circumstance. Though it is worth mentioning the wait for a COC is much longer than a first time application 20+ weeks I've seen.

Good luck x

Mine was the 11th of August aswell, did you call or recieve a text. Soooo anxious of the outcome xx

Momto3smalls · 15/11/2022 20:36

I received a text today! Not long I hope you get a positive outcome! Does anyone know how long to receive back pay from being accepted? Xx

Momto3smalls · 15/11/2022 20:45

When do they backdate from?

MissEllie2 · 15/11/2022 20:50

They will backdate it to the day you called for it, or if you printed it out yourself they will backdate it to the scan date! So for me I called on the 2nd of august but they received it on the 22nd but they will still backdate it to the 2nd of August x
