Hi all, just an update, don’t give up hope - I was told last week that hasn’t even been passed on to case worker yet, but today rang and found out it has been awarded. I found out over the phone, but I haven’t had a text or letter or any payment.. she said should receive payment in next few days, I don’t have any pending upcoming payments, does anyone know when they usually send payment?

I feel absolutely relieved and greatful, finally my little one gets what he deserves, he’s had a real struggle these past few years, these payments will help me access provisions for him that I wouldn’t have been able to prior.

Good luck everyone xx

sadiekt21 · 14/11/2022 13:46

Hi All, so last week my claim was declined. Its been looked at again today by a different DM as there was late evidence but it's still declined.
They are saying it needed more evidence to show he differs from a child of his age (4). They are apparently strict on the under 5 rule. They are saying that because he's under 5, he doesn't need anything different to a child of that age. But my argument is that he is in reception and with children of 5 it's just he has a later birthday.

I've already sent of hospital letters, health visitor letter, spoa referral. What else can I do 😭

georgiesmuma · 14/11/2022 13:53

@sadiekt21 does he have a EHCP or IEP from school that you could get ??

Luly78 · 14/11/2022 14:01

Just spoke to them and when’ve been refused. Absolutely livid. Diagnosis since 3 but doesn’t bloody qualify. Absolute joke

georgiesmuma · 14/11/2022 14:08

Oh my god all these refusals are making me nervous! It’s so awful as id anyone would put themselves through that form and stress to hit feel like they were right to get it

Claire288 · 14/11/2022 14:14

Hi I've just emailed my local mp. As I sent my first form off on 3rd August and it got lost, I had to then fill out another form which was scanned 13th September. The wait really is frustrating. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

sadiekt21 · 14/11/2022 14:22

No he has nothing as his asd ADHD referral has been sent about two weeks ago. I included what the health visitor has put in it. Also diagnosis report and hospital letters for seizures and also he's deaf, put in reports and diagnosis and nothing.

Going to get the teacher of the deaf to send something. I think they just want me to be able to explain how he's different with him being 4. I think If he was 5, he would be accepted.

Sevenwolf · 14/11/2022 14:23

What does emailing you local mp do? My new claim scan 5th augst still hasn’t been looked at and my son really needs new special furniture I just can’t afford without it

Claire288 · 14/11/2022 14:28

@Sevenwolf apparently the can speed the waiting process up. Further up the thread someone posted to say their scan date was September, they contacted their local mp who spoke with dla and they are now waiting for a payment.

Sevenwolf · 14/11/2022 14:31

Hmmm I’ve just had a catch up with my sons senco she will ring them for me if that dosent work I’ll try the mp. I just need to know either way and don’t have my hopes up too much as he is undiagnosed currently awaiting asd assessment

Claire288 · 14/11/2022 14:35

From what I've seen on this thread they go with your child's needs not diagnosis, hopefully you will have a desicion soon. They don't always text and let you know. So might be worth ringing.

Claire288 · 14/11/2022 14:37

@Lysha1988 your scan date is the same as mine.

Sevenwolf · 14/11/2022 14:38

Thank you for your peace of mind the school senco helped me fill out the form and added all the reports they have really hope it’s enough.

Claire288 · 14/11/2022 14:40

Good luck I hope your child gets what they deserve.

Sevenwolf · 14/11/2022 14:41

Thank you and the same to you!!

AandTsmum · 14/11/2022 15:32

I just got off the phone with them. Scan date 12 September and he said it hadn’t been allocated to a CM yet, and said I should, should not definitely, have a decision by middle of December.. but no guarantee..

Wonermamma222 · 14/11/2022 15:49

Long time lurker! Scan date the 12th August was told not allocated to a decision maker this morning. Going to an MP puts everyone before me to the back of the queue. They are really behind and it's terrible to wait this long but so does everyone. Hope u all get the answers u hope for soon. Xx

ChocolateSundayGirl · 14/11/2022 15:51

@Luly78 oh no! I’m so sorry xx

Mummytogirls87 · 14/11/2022 15:51

Can someone tell the address to send extra evidence to please? Xx
