Hi Moms! I'll be giving birth in the UK for the first time in Jan 2024. I have 3 children I've given birth to in California so I know what to expect in the USA, but here in the UK I'm nervous. I read things like they kick you out as soon as possible, don't provide diapers. And being in a ward makes me nervous because I'm use to having my own room and space to turn the light off and have some peace and quiet. Can you please give me some advice.
What to expect for a c section mom. What to bring in my hospital bag. What's it like in a ward? Anything. Thank you so much.

@Pinkychilla woah that's amazing you have that relationship wit the mums years later. I love that seeing that I know no one here but my DH. I have no friends or family here , so something like that would be beautiful.
How long were you in the hospital when you had your c section? I love hearing positive experiences. All my births were positive experiences and great care and with all this information I have no doubt that this will be the same. Very very different, but still good 💗

For my first I was in hospital for 4 days as had a difficult birth and again whilst the noise of the ward was difficult at night for sleeping the actual care from all health professionals was good which helped make a difficult experience better and my second was a C-section (had to have because of complications with the first) and I was in for two days but no pressure to go home then but I wanted to and baby was feeding well and I made sure I was up and walking and had good pain relief

Yes I’m really glad I did those classes and feel it really helped having other people going through the same things at the same time as me, I have also met other mums through baby activity classes/playgroups/baby yoga which I found really beneficial for getting me out the house and having a routine

I've also read that a lot of mums have had success with the app Peanut for meeting other mums in the same situation in the same area so that maybe worth a look 😊
