Hi all..

Just need some people to talk to. My baby was diagnosed with a lethal condition at 20wks. We decided to carry to term knowing that he may pass away in utero... which has been the case for us.. we found out yesterday after experiencing no movement 😭😔 (38wks +5)

Came into hosp this morn to start induction process. Have had two lots of misoprostol. Cervix examination at 4pm suggested that my cervix is still posterior.

After first tablet was inserted at 12pm I started getting bad cramps like period pain. Since getting my second they're much stronger. My back is achey!! Have so far just had paracetamol.

It's an ongoing dull painful ache and my tummy tightens every now and then. This is my first pregnancy so no idea how contractions should feel!

Any advice support would be grateful. Obviously if things progress I may not be able to message but at the moment I'd really like some people to talk to.

Anyone with similar experiences 💙💙

Oh op I’m so sorry Flowers

My DD was stillborn at 40+5.

Her birth was as beautiful as any other birth. At times we laughed and at times we cried.
When she was born I was frightened to let go. When I saw her I was over one with love. She was a little puffy and looked like she had her goth lipstick on, but she was so beautiful.

Take as much times as you can afterwards. Take photos yourself u can never take too many. If you have different outfits it might be nice to change him and capture a few more memories. I regretted not doing that afterwards.

You can ask for your labour notes but it may take several weeks. I did and it was nice to recall some things that I had forgotten.

Sending you strength and peace in your heart. Bear for your baby

No helpful advice I'm afraid but your posts have brought a tear to my eye, as have some of the responses from other posters who've experienced similar. I'm very sorry for all of your losses and wish you the best through this difficult time OP Thanks

justanotherneighinparadise · 24/05/2020 20:58

Ah bless you OP 🌼. I would have done the same with my last pregnancy and carried my terminally ill baby to term or as far as she stayed with us but I was worried it would traumatise me long term.

You are a very brave lady and a wonderful mummy ♥️

The combined live and strength of thousands of strong women is with you tonight . I had an induction and was persuaded to have an eipdural. The pain relief was amazing.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was induced in the second trimester so can't really compare but I did love seeing my baby and comparing her to family and DH. Her footprints have a nice place in my living room. Take your time to say goodbye, it's worth it.

Afterwards I had therapy which really helped me to let go of the more difficult stuff and the positive memories are more on the forefront now. If afterwards you feel that it's hard, don't hesitate to ask for help. It can really help with your experience.

Just holding your hand virtually from afar.
I’m so so sorry.

Badassmama · 24/05/2020 21:10

You are so brave and courageous and everything a mum should be. The strongest woman I know had a stillbirth with her first and now has a healthy baby boy and is pregnant again with her third.
Induction is a weird weird process, I found bouncing on a ball really helpful, getting a pillow between your knees and ankles is good too. Go for the epidural when you can as your hormones are ramping up artificially the natural pain killer response doesn’t always kick in so fast. If they’ve got a bath you could go in there too. Thinking of you and Sending Love your way now

JenNtonic · 24/05/2020 21:13

Hello brave lady! I'm here to tell you two things

  1. my mum never lies
  2. my mum told me that babies never truly die, they go back up to heaven and wait to be born again so you ALWAYS get the baby you're supposed to ❤️ Thinking of you strong lady xX
Hollywhiskey · 24/05/2020 21:18

I'm so sorry and I'm thinking of you. If you are allowed the bath or pool will help the physical pain. X

RLOU30 · 24/05/2020 21:19

You are a wonderful brave person and mother.
Wishing for you all the strength in the world.
X
