I've just been woken up by crampy pains. They're coming every 15 minutes or so, I'm getting niggles.in between too. Are there any 'tests' i can do to see if this is it? I've been up to the loo, no show, no waters etc. drank water and had a little walk around the upstairs. anything else I can try? just to make sure it's not my silly cervix just doing its thing etc. also if it helps I was a miserable irritated bitch all day and kept crying too. Thanks all :)

Hi Cleo, nice to see you here, it's so frustrating isn't it, feeling like you have no control whatsoever. Hi Zsa, dicky tummy sounds good I think?

dm86 · 15/02/2015 12:02

Hi everyone.

Still nothing here! Not symptom spotting no more Im driving myself mad! I had regular pains that kept waking me up through the night but again still here so I'm giving up lol.

Welcome cleo! You must've been due the 10th same as me? This is my dc3 and I've been induced both times for going overdue so I shouldn't expect anything different this time! I suppose as its my last I wanted a natural labour and would've liked a home birth but as long as baby gets here safe and well I'll be happy with that!

I girl I work with was due the 21st but ended up getting induced and had her little girl last night! I'm really happy for her and I'm not at all jealous lol Confused

Sending labour vibes to you all! Smile

cleoteacher · 15/02/2015 13:18

Thanks guys. Yes need to stop over analysing. Was induced last time so Atleast know what to expect. Just don't like the way intensity of pain comes on straight away. But in some senses potentially nearer the finish line then.

Yes was due on the 10th and kind of expecting induction as obviously had it with #1. Would be nice not to though.

Had wierd discharges all day so far and pressure/aches low down . Baby feels much lower down now and kicks feeling very low.

Zsazsabinks · 15/02/2015 15:09

Even if you did end up getting induced Cleo, all of these signs are great as it shows your body is preparing itself anyway.

Have you got a good birth plan on hand for if you do get induced? I wonder if having things prepared in your head and written out might help with some of the anxiety? Could be stuff like playlists or maybe a new book that you save for going in to the hospital and maybe having to hand about for the induction to start. To a pain management plan so that you know in advance at what point you would like to consider certain types of pain relief.... I know it's not what you want but it might help?

cleoteacher · 15/02/2015 17:09

Thanks for advice . Have music fine and packed it really worked for first stages. Just don't want to end up lying down and not being able to get up again as panicking with pain like last time.

Written birth plan but if getting closer to induction think might print another one out and stick over it . Want to avoid pethadin this time it made me totally out of it so can not remember large parts of birth .

Hoping if stay more mobile will be able to just have gas and air.

Zsazsabinks · 15/02/2015 23:23

I know, you've probably thought of it anyway. Hopefully it won't matter because things will happen anyway!

Pressures properly ON now, my Mother has announced that she's determined to come up to stay (we live in Scotland, she lives in Hampshire), on the 21st Feb, with my father too. I'm trying to dissuade her but she just won't stop! Bye bye lovely quiet birth. :(

Zsazsabinks · 15/02/2015 23:24

(no cramps or anything this evening either. Not sure what's worse, having cramps that end up going nowhere or having nothing at all!)

JugglingLife · 16/02/2015 08:27

Morning ladies, I can't believe we're still here waiting for 3 more babies on this lovely thread. Zsa, I reckon a bit of reverse psychology will have baby here before mum arrives you poor bloody thing, Cleo, make sure your DH can intervene on the pethidine, I hated it too loved gas and air though, DM, not long now. Sending metaphoric contractions your way.

Zsazsabinks · 16/02/2015 10:58

Off to the midwife tomorrow for another sweep.

I don't know what my life has come to that I am looking forward to a relative stranger sticking her hand into my fanjo and digging around whilst telling strangers on the internet about it. What dignity!

FURIOUS with my Mother but DH has taken the day off work and we're going to do some nice things with the girls (DCs) so, going to have a lovely day and try not to think about anything.

dm86 · 16/02/2015 16:52

Hi all,

I know zsa it's strange the things that you want to happen when your pregnant and a sweep is one of them things lol!

Well I'm still here! Aching and sore back but I've got through first day of half term lol!Been at a farm park with the kids all day and tried the big slide a few times to see if baby would fly out but no such luck lol Wink

I know what you mean zsa! My mother lives a few hours away and I'm getting induced on the 22nd and she said I'll come up the 22/23rd.er no give me a few days to get settled first! As I don't know when baby will end up coming yet! I'm grateful as my husband can only have a few days off so I'll be grateful for her help but I don't want her there when I come home! How do you politely say no?!

Cleo hopefully it won't come to you getting induced! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that baby comes! I'm resigned to getting induced now and I don't think my body knows how to go into labour!

Now I have the 22nd as a date Im so scared about having another and coping with 3 Confused and going back to baby stage etc! I'm not sure how I'm going to split myself in 3 especially bedtimes etc and my husbands not here most of the week! It's daft to get doubts at this stage but I can't help it!

Good luck everyone hope we get some baby news soon! Grin

JugglingLife · 17/02/2015 10:25

How are you all today?

Zsazsabinks · 17/02/2015 20:26

OMFG!!!

So woke DH up at 4:20am saying that I was having slightly stronger contractionsand was going to hop into the bath to see if they stopped.

DH delivered the baby himself at 5:20am!!!!!!

I had to go in as the placenta wouldn't come but actually quite enjoyed the spinal and time away from DCs. Homeagain now.

She's 7lb2oz and not even a stitch too!!

cleoteacher · 17/02/2015 21:56

Congrats zsa what a short labour glad all ok.

Did you get into the bath in the hope of increasing contractions?

Getting really frustrated now. Had bit of a cry yesterday morning. Have had intense pressure between legs and behind/ loose bowels / intense braxton hicks and mild period type pains intermittently but only lasting a few seconds as well as white and clear discharge for the past 3 nights. Each time it's been when I be been sat down with legs apart. On Monday I had it for two hours and was scared to move increase it stopped. Sure enough when I stood up if stopped. Same with other times it's stops when go on birthing ball, walk or have hot bath. I don't feel anything new after sex either. They don't get stronger and just fade away.

Got to the point where I don't know what to do for the best when they start to try and intensify them. So frustrated now as 41 weeks I could cry.

JugglingLife · 18/02/2015 07:48

Well done Zsa, that's fabulousness news, great to hear it was a short labour too. Cleo, still sending those thoughts your way.

Zsazsabinks · 18/02/2015 08:23

Thank you! [grins]

My thinking was that if it was going to be labour then a bath would slow and relax things so we could get other DC out of the house. If it was going to be more stop/start contractions, the bath would stop them and I could relax.

I think those contractions that you're having probably are doing loads to ripen and open things. I know, really REALLY know how horribly frustrating things are though. Flowers

dm86 · 18/02/2015 10:13

Aww big congratulations zsa Grin How are things? You got a name yet for little one? That was a short labour! Glad it went ok for you. Congratulations again!

I'm resigned to going in on Sunday but feeling a little disappointed that I'll be induced for a third time. I'm beginning to think my body doesn't know how to go into labour or my baby's just cook for a lot longer. I'm still in two minds about refusing induction for another week and seeing what happens but then on the other hand I've had enough!

No signs really either! Off out tonight for tea with no children so looking forward to that!

My mum text me last night asking what time Im going in on Sunday as she wants to be there as she missed the other two. Er is that not my decision if I want her there or not? I don't know if I'd feel comfortable if she was but I don't know how to tell her that? I'm more annoyed that she's just assumed and not asked Confused

Good luck cleo hope baby comes soon for you! Smile

Zsazsabinks · 19/02/2015 00:44

She's called Valentina Biba Gray [surname]. Currently sleeping on DH, my poor nipples are red raw but she's amazing and hopefully milk will come in tomorrow which will feel nice(ish).

Mothers are a nightmare!!!! I know they're just excited but arrggggggghhhh!!!!

If it's any consolation, the two nights before baby arrived I felt the best I'd felt in ages pregnancy wise.

Hang on in there, I'm thinking of you!

JugglingLife · 19/02/2015 08:28

It's a beautiful name Zsa, we have a valentina in our family too. Out with the cabbages love and send those mums home when you've had enough. DM, I'm really really hoping you can avoid an induction this time round, we all know it's the end result that counts but still, would be lovely for you.

dm86 · 24/02/2015 03:41

Hi all Smile

Thought I would update! My gorgeous little man was finally born at 9:32am yesterday weighing 8lb 14oz ouch!

Ended up with induction again and it was my worse labour yet! If it'd have been my first they're would be no more! Hope everyone is settling well with their new little ones.

No name yet as just can't decide! Confused

JugglingLife · 24/02/2015 13:41

Well fine DM, at least that scrumptious bundle is here now. Our DC3 was baby with no name for ages, it's hard isn't it.

JugglingLife · 24/02/2015 13:42

Well done I meant!
