I've just been woken up by crampy pains. They're coming every 15 minutes or so, I'm getting niggles.in between too. Are there any 'tests' i can do to see if this is it? I've been up to the loo, no show, no waters etc. drank water and had a little walk around the upstairs. anything else I can try? just to make sure it's not my silly cervix just doing its thing etc. also if it helps I was a miserable irritated bitch all day and kept crying too. Thanks all :)

hi all :D 12 hours of strong labour, getting absolutely unbearable I've just been to the hospital as there seems to be no religious pattern but I got about 7 contractions in 20 minutes, they examined me and I'm 2cm dilated... 2 fucking centimetres after 12 hours!!! midwife was completely unsympathetic and recommended that I go back up the hospital for more codeine Angry I'm starting to get so upset and finding. It really hard to cope.

Skipping. That's what I did to get stubborn DS3 moving. All round the park. I looked like a GIANT twat. DH and DS1&2 were BlushConfused but it got the little bugger moving!

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 13:27

Ravi, you poor thing, have you had a bath? Do you have back pain? I'm sending you lots of sympathy and a big hug. Remember that you can go from 2cm to 10cm really quickly.

Showy · 07/02/2015 13:32

I went from 1-2cm dilated to fully dilated in 3 hours. I'd been contracting for 14hrs before that. 3 contractions in ten minutes for 14hrs and 1-2cm to show for it. I was fed up too. It meant nothing though.

Are you hydrated? Eaten?

BellMcEnd · 07/02/2015 13:37

Oh Ravi we must have X posted. I too went from being barely dilated to fully massively quickly with, yep, that stubborn little bugger DS3. He's 2 now and gorgeous but hugely opinionated. Don't lose heart: this is all part of the process. Have you tried a warm bath and walking up and down the stairs? Sending you loads of virtual support and hand holding. Definitely try to eat and drink x

plinkyplonks · 07/02/2015 14:17

RavioliOnToast - Loads of hugs your way :( You must be exhausted :( Really hope you manage to get some rest today, have a nice bath and get some energy ready for round 2! x

bagofsnakes · 07/02/2015 14:37

Ravi sending all positive thoughts your way and hoping a bath might give you some rest. Hope you're managing to eat and drink, even though it's not always easy.

Zsazsabinks · 07/02/2015 14:47

Oh Ravi, this sounds such hard work and you're doing an amazing job. Have a nice bath and try to rest between contractions. If it's any consolation, I was similar to some other posters where it's taken me aaaages to get to established but once there, woooosh, two hours max. Don't lose heart! You're doing an amazing job.

It doesn't feel like it but every contraction is one closer to your baby. xxxxxxx

RavioliOnToast · 07/02/2015 14:49

just about to have another bath. I actually can't cope with the pain anymore, they're every 10 minutes now!! I'm fucking demented! Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

had a piece of toast and some orange lucozade about 3 hours ago. I feel like I'm dying. Sad

Ravi - try some stair climbing, resting on left lateral and going all 4's - sounds like baby needs to get in a better position to allow labour to get going

ChippingInGluggingOn · 07/02/2015 15:32

Is DH home? Have you got someone else looking after DD?

Try to eat something 'good' like avocado and cheese if you can and drink as well.

Hopefully it won't be long now
X

Hi guys, sorry I dropped off the planet! Our son was born, at home, at 12:57 yesterday (Friday). In the end there were 2 community midwives, 2 student midwives and 3 paramedics present Shock

We were the taken to the local hospital as I had an internal tear :-/ So into theatre and a night on the ward but (back) home now and finally chilling :-D

Good luck to all those still waiting, xx

As for me, I've had a walk (even though I reeeeally didn't want one), a really hot curry and I've got a 'date' with DH booked for later Smile

ChippingInGluggingOn · 07/02/2015 18:14

Geeky. Congratulations! :). I'm very envious of newborn snuggles! Flowers

I'm sorry it turned into a bit of a circus for you and that you ended up in hospital, but he's here, he's well and you're both home now. Good result! X

Hope the baby will arrive soon and really hoping they don't send you home again :( x Flowers

Zsazsabinks · 07/02/2015 21:46

If you don't want to go home absolutely insist and insist that you stay in. I don't think they'll make you especially if you're 4cm, and by the way, 4cm is BRILLIANT work, especially with a back to back!!!

Keep going, you're so close now. xxxxx
