I've just been woken up by crampy pains. They're coming every 15 minutes or so, I'm getting niggles.in between too. Are there any 'tests' i can do to see if this is it? I've been up to the loo, no show, no waters etc. drank water and had a little walk around the upstairs. anything else I can try? just to make sure it's not my silly cervix just doing its thing etc. also if it helps I was a miserable irritated bitch all day and kept crying too. Thanks all :)

I recognised your name from the Feb thread too bag, they're arriving thick and fast at the mo. Someone else's waters also went at 2.30am this morning so it could be a busy day. Fingers crossed you're not waiting too much longer either. Hope all goes well ravioli.

Here, frustrated by mw team. No-one seems to know who is actually on community duty so have left messages with the several people suggested and seeing what happens! OH due to start work at lunchtime and in a diver about whether to go in / email manager etc..

bagofsnakes · 06/02/2015 09:34

Geeky - how far away does your OH work from home? If he's close enough he could go in just come home when you start having contractions. With my first DH only worked 20-30 mins away, I didn't get him home until my contractions were 5 or 6 mins apart and he still had a good 7-8 hours of labour with me and that's enough for anyone!

JugglingLife · 06/02/2015 09:41

Mine were all delivered within 3 hours of water going Geeky, keep him close!

GeekyHybrid · 06/02/2015 11:45

He isn't going anywhere! It's getting painful here. Rapidly. I suspect I won't be posting much longer :-D

JugglingLife · 06/02/2015 11:51

You go girl, just breathe, and breathe, and breathe some more.......

RavioliOnToast · 06/02/2015 12:00

Ah so exciting! Grin good luck!!

All the best Geeky - It's going to be fine, and the bits that aren't so fine will be very worth it Smile

RavioliOnToast · 06/02/2015 18:06

just got home from hospital, they wouldn't sweep me! I've had reduced movements (which I presumed was normal at this stage) so they sent me to the day unit, who then refused to sweep me... I've had a show though so at least something seems to be happening. How long for you lot between show and baby? Grin

OP posts:
homeaway · 06/02/2015 18:18

Less than a day: ), hope it is the same for you and that things get moving soon.

bagofsnakes · 06/02/2015 18:21

Ah, Ravi that's frustrating! Did they give a reason?
I didn't get any kind of a show until I was really far into labour, and waters didn't break until DS was coming out - I have a weird body!
I'm having another evening of BHs... not that they ever seem to amount to anything. Although I trying to hopeful - come on baby!

RavioliOnToast · 06/02/2015 18:32

the midwife today was meant to do.It but nothing was recorded in my notes so when I went to the day unit they said they could 'get into trouble' if they did it and something went wrong. no idea Hmm but the midwife initially wouldn't give it today as I needed a trace because of the reduced movements, however she said they'd do it up there Sad I'd just built the courage up too haha. I am getting really intense BHs too, were going to get a curry in and I'm going to have a hot bath! see if that gets things moving in the right direction Grin

I am watching with interest! I love a good birth thread and this one is the best so far - 3 potential births!

Best of luck to all of you. :)

LuxuryTrifle · 06/02/2015 20:55

Best of luck everyone - v exciting!

(Also continuous monitoring doesn't mean have to be still - telemetric wireless monitoring is continuous and lets you move about and even be under water..)

JugglingLife · 06/02/2015 22:34

Ok girls, so far we are 3:0, you are all amazing, the end game is near. Be strong, just breathe. You are in my thoughts. Xx

plinkyplonks · 06/02/2015 22:41

Lots of luck and hugs to those going through labour right now! So very jealous, 11 weeks to go :) Flowers x

bigfam · 07/02/2015 00:38

Hey ladies, I'm cheating a bit here as I'm sat here feeding my 9 day old little beauty, but just wanted to say good luck to everyone. I too was impatient for baby to arrive and kept up a thread in pregnancy alongside others, It turns out my angel came at the perfect time like she KNEW when I was ready, we moved on Monday the 26th and it was madness decorating, we finished (just about!) Wednesday morning at 2am, I laid down the paintbrush and went to sleep to be woken at 5am with pains and by 9.30 she was born....even had a bit of a live birth thread! Anyway sorry to sidetrack, hope everything goes well for everyone!!! Flowers

RavioliOnToast · 07/02/2015 01:40

I'm now getting contractions every 8 minutes Grin I know it could be HOURS yet but at least I know she's on her way Smile

forgot how painful this is though I must admit, and this isn't even the start yet...

Exciting! Good luck! Flowers

youmakemydreams · 07/02/2015 07:45

I read this the other night and came looking hoping for news. Looks like Geeky was good to go so is holding a snuggle new born right now.
Oh Ravioli how exciting. Can't wait for news. Good luck. GrinFlowers

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 07:45

Oh my goodness, come on you amazing ladies! Thinking of you lots.

bagofsnakes · 07/02/2015 08:55

Ravi! That is great news! After a week and a half of warming up it's about time! Do pop back and let us know.

So... that's just me then.

Woke up this morning and... nothing. It doesn't help that I have a bit of a cold. Maybe your body shuts down, labour wise, when you're ill? I'm clearly desperately looking for reasons for no baby Smile

Thank you all that have dropped in to wish us well Flowers

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 09:09

Morning bag, sorry to hear you're a little under the weather, given how quiet the other two are it looks as though we'll have 2 out of 3 soon, what are your plans for the weekend? Any dubious activities on the list to get things moving?!

bagofsnakes · 07/02/2015 09:59

Smile DH has suggested one that he could help with but I really don't know if I have the energy. Suppose I could just lie back and think of babies Grin

I could certainly manage a hot curry so I think I'll do that, and I'm on that damn yoga ball so much I think I strained a groin muscle!

DH has just taken DS to the library for an hour so i'm going to head back to bed for a little while - get my rest while I can!

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 10:09

Needs must bag, needs must. You need to get off your pregnant arse and go for a route march. Have you got a trampoline? Tried that with DC3, not entirely sure I should recommend it as it all felt very odd (and I might have peed in my pants a little). No raspberry leaf tea, that'll just give you belly ache and no baby which is just bloody rude in my opinion.
