I've just been woken up by crampy pains. They're coming every 15 minutes or so, I'm getting niggles.in between too. Are there any 'tests' i can do to see if this is it? I've been up to the loo, no show, no waters etc. drank water and had a little walk around the upstairs. anything else I can try? just to make sure it's not my silly cervix just doing its thing etc. also if it helps I was a miserable irritated bitch all day and kept crying too. Thanks all :)

Back to back isn't scary but it is probably why labour has been so long and painful for you. Check out the 'polar bear' position online (basically on your hands and knees to with your front lower than your bottom) to try and get baby into a better position. I had this with DS and it was tough but manageable.
Really feel for you Ravi, hope things get moving soon Flowers

JugglingLife · 07/02/2015 23:02

Ravi, you poor love, back to back is fucking painful (not that you need me to tell you this), had it with DC2, is DH rubbing your back very hard with every contraction. Have you got gas and air yet? Time to dig your heels in and stay for drugs, just do what you need to. xx

Fairylea · 07/02/2015 23:09

If the baby is back to back it tends to be a lot more painful. I had a very long back to back labour with dd that went on for 3 days. In hindsight I should have protested more than I did and requested a c section after 15 hours plus as I was just too exhausted to cope. Don't let them push you about, refuse to go home and make sure you ask for pain relief. I had an epidural and it really helped me.

(I had my second child ten years after the first and had an elective c section because I found my first birth so difficult so please don't let anyone make you feel bad about needing more support etc, do whatever you need to in order to cope).

baby Isla has arrived!!!! 8lbs 7.5oz of sheer fabulous - ness!!

labour was horrendous, absolutely horrendous. They were going to discharge me at 1am as I still 'wasnt in active labour' however she made her grand entrance dot on ten past one! She had pood in the birth but she's fine, she's got a thick mop of jet black hair! I'm now scoffing belvita in me face with a cuppa as I'm starved!!! not a stitch needed either so I'm happy with that :D xxxxxxxxx

Hello baby Isla

It's no wonder it was painful, chunky monkey, back to back! You did really, really well. No stitches is amazing, thank your stretchy bits!

Congratulations ravioli and enjoy your new baby snuggles with Isla.
Love the name btw as a highlander ;)

GeekyHybrid · 08/02/2015 09:27

Well done ravioli and welcome Isla. I think this thread proves just how different people's birth experiences can be!! You did so well, and no stitches to boot. Enjoy the snuggles. Thanks Thanks Thanks

GeekyHybrid · 08/02/2015 09:32

PS juggling he was 6lb 14oz so not massive. Think it was the speed of delivery that caused the tear Hmm

GeekyHybrid · 08/02/2015 09:35

Any sign of movement for you bag?

bettyboop1970 · 08/02/2015 09:43

Congrats to you and IslaFlowers

bagofsnakes · 08/02/2015 10:39

Congratulations ravi! At last! What a lovely name and a great weight.

Geeky Isaac was the same weight as my DS! I like babies that size, proper tiny.

No movement for me, sadly. Thought last nights 'activities' might have triggered something but, alas, no. I'll keep you posted.

JugglingLife · 08/02/2015 10:41

Geeky that's a lovely weight. Bag, how far over are you now? Are you sure DH did it right?!

Zsazsabinks · 08/02/2015 11:04

Congratulations Ravioli!!! Happy birthday baby Isla!

xx

Showy · 08/02/2015 11:33

Fab news all round. Two beautiful babies. Sorry about tears and horrendous labours. Hope those bits are distant memories soon. Two new lives on the planet. How glorious.

Best of luck bagofsnakes. Honestly, none of the sex, curry, walking, pineapple stuff works. Just do what you want, eat what you want and it'll be over soon. Hope it's soon for you.

bagofsnakes · 08/02/2015 14:48

And we are go! Strong, five mins apart. At last! Although I'd forgot how powerful they are... Quite the feeling isn't it? Smile

Zsazsabinks · 08/02/2015 15:08

Brilliant! GOGOGOGOGOGOGO bagofsnakes! Good luck!

Can you send some labour-y vibes my way if you get a breather. Grin.

xx

JugglingLife · 08/02/2015 15:20

Go bag, go bag!! I'm sending speedy delivery thoughts your way! And we have a 4th potential to add to this thread. Hi Zsa, when are you due?

Zsazsabinks · 08/02/2015 15:27

Not until Thurs (I'm 39+3) and I don't want to hijack the thread! DD1 was born ON due date and DD2 was born at 39+1 though, so psychologically I've finished with this pregnancy. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have finished with me!
