Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

Can I make a suggestion for wagon falls? Instead of thinking about my day in terms of diet, I think about it by meal. So if I have a 'bad' meal I try not to write the entire day off, I just make sure the next meal is healthy. I can be a bit all or nothing to that subtle shift in psychology tends to prevent me from eating the whole cupboard in the evening if I had a slice if cake in the morning.

BonesJones · 23/02/2021 07:54

I've decided to take a whole new approach over the weekend. 1200 calories is too low for me I think, given that in trying to build muscle as well and doing a lot of strength training. I'm abandoning any weight targets since I'm trying to gain muscle and lose fat, but I'll still keep an eye on it, but going to try relying on cringe bra and pants in the mirror photos. I switched my focus more towards getting enough protein, so I'm looking more at trying to get about 40% protein, 30% fat and 30% carbs, and cutting right back on sugar. Ironically I'm now really struggling to hit my 1500cal goal! I came in at about 1300 yesterday, and had 3 meals plus snacks without factoring in the hour of training plus walks. Meals were breakfast: protein shake; lunch: mushroom omelette with 2 eggs and an egg white, half grapefruit; dinner: 2 chicken thighs in homemade satay sauce (was DELICIOUS!) and asparagus, big bowl of Greek yoghurt with honey, half grapefruit, Supper: protein shake. Also making sure I drink a ton of water!

PutTheCakeDOWN · 23/02/2021 07:55

That’s a really good way to look at it @BonesJones :)

Well done to all the losers!!
I’ve just weighed and I’ve lost 2lbs since last Wednesday, even with a wagon fall so I’m pleased! Good luck to everyone else!

Going shopping this morning so I won’t intermittent fast, shopping hungry never ends well for me 😂

Well done to everyone sticking to their cal target Star. I did (for once) yesterday.

I weighed in today and lost another lb so I’m now 9st 5lbs.

Today will be the usual brunch- total 5 yoghurt, a banana and mixed seeds (250 cal)

Skimmed milk in tea and coffee 150 cal

Gousto chicken and butter bean hotpot (but I’ll add extra veg to make it bigger)- 600 cal

Leaves around 200-300 for an afternoon snack. Yesterday I had smashed avocado and roast chicken on crackers which was really nice!

Cocolapew · 23/02/2021 10:20

Well my exercise for the day is done. It's howling wind and rain here and my recycling bin blew over before the bin lorry got here.
I spent 20 minutes running around chasing stuff around the cul de sac Angry

PedrosPony · 23/02/2021 10:28

Sorry been quiet, been trying to stay off mums net as I get sucked into hours and hours of threads!
Had weekend off which probably wasn't wisest move but was so hungry! I'm not counting properly yet either, don't think I will till after miscarriage has happened.
Weigh in is tomorrow so will see how I get on. Well done everyone looks like some good results going on!

That's great @PutTheCakeDOWN, you did well!
BonesJones · 23/02/2021 11:00

Pedrospony so sorry to hear about your miscarriage Flowers Don't stress about dieting and stuff for now, your body needs kind, nutritious food and your hormones are will be all over the place so completely ignore numbers on scales. Sympathies Flowers

shenanigans5 · 23/02/2021 11:01

Well done Cake!

Pedros I think go easy on yourself. I remember feeling the miscarriage took a lot out of me physically and mentally. I definitely had a few extra takeaways and biscuits in the couple of weeks afterward. Take your time Flowers

BonesJones · 23/02/2021 11:01

PutthecakeDOWN WOOHOO!

Cocolapew · 23/02/2021 11:25

Look after yourself Pedro, somethings are more important than dieting Flowers

Well done to losers Grin

DareIask · 23/02/2021 11:45

So my first day was..

Overnight oats and fruit
Baked cod and lentils, salad
Rice cakes, houmous and beetroot
Fruit
Slice of toast before bed

Also went out for a fairly long walk as I'm as concerned about my fitness as much as my weight.

Sorry some of you are having a rough time.. puts my woes into perspective Thanks

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 23/02/2021 16:57

Definitely be kind to yourself @PedrosPony and concentrate on being healthy both physically and mentally.
I've just read this interesting article about sugar and addiction that I thought others might find useful thefast800.com/sugar-cravings-are-you-unknowingly-feeding-them/

Cocolapew · 23/02/2021 17:05

I definitely was less hungry when low carbing and wasn't eating any sugar, but I also felt awful.
I expected the keto flu but I ended up with a constant sore head and I was on it for 5 weeks.
When the weather is better I might try it again for a couple of weeks, I'm not a fan of salad in the winter and got a bit bored with my diet on it.
I was insulin resistant a few years ago, I had PCOS and endometriosis

Someaddedsugar · 23/02/2021 18:18

10 stone 4 at weigh in this morning - so a pound up on last Tuesday. Today has been a grim day at work and so I caved to chip shop chips for tea (not doing well at all this week!).

Breakfast - low fat Greek style yogurt and frozen raspberries

Lunch - 2 chocolate covered rice cakes and a cup of tea in a 2 minute break on an all day Teams call

Dinner - chip shop chips, sausage and bread bun.

I am making myself do a yoga class after I put DS to bed and then back on the wagon tomorrow where I will commit to less than 1500 calories a day for the rest of the week with a real focus on reducing my bad fat intake!

Someaddedsugar · 23/02/2021 18:19

@PedrosPony Thanks hope you're ok

Cocolapew · 23/02/2021 18:35

You didn't eat much for breakfast and lunch so I don't think your chippy will be too bad at all Someaddedsugar.

Cocolapew · 23/02/2021 18:37

I was looking at an old notbook that I was using for calorie counting before and I was 164lbs, when I started this time I was 184lbs!
20lbs on in 2 years 😭.

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2021 18:49

@Cocolapew that’s what happened to me, I found the note on my phone and I was a stone lighter than I am now, last time I tried to diet.

I haven’t calorie counted today or yesterday. I need to find the energy to work out the calories for the dinners I’m doing when they are not simple ones or hello fresh.

I am sticking to having either a protein shake, weetabix or porridge for breakfast though, and I haven’t snacked at all so I’m sticking with my habit changes which I’m pleased about.
