Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!

I'm very disappointed today - decided to weigh myself just to see if anything had changed and no movement. Fingers crossed that'll change on Tuesday which is my normal weight check day!

PutTheCakeDOWN · 21/02/2021 18:56

Good luck @BasinHaircut and @Ihatemyseleffordoingthis !

Don’t let it get you down @Someaddedsugar - it hasn’t been long! Keep the faith, if you keep going the scales will move :)

I’ve clawed my way to a good day today but it’s been SO HARD -

Breakfast - corn flakes (234)
Lunch - chicken sausage and veg pasta bake (437)
Dinner - Tesco salmon ready meal (288) Arctic roll (140)
Snacks - tea (40) sprite tiny can (21) Cheetos (69) apple (47) spoonful of Halo Top ice cream (9)

Total - 1285

I might have a cup of tea but apart from that I’m staying OUT of the kitchen tonight, cravings have been sooo bad today after I fell off the wagon yesterday..!

Well my online shop was short on a few things so the stew didn’t happen! Gutted.

Came in about 100kcals over again today but I’ve just worked out that on average over the past 7 days my intake has been 1,700. I’m well chuffed with that.

Today’s food diary:
B - weetabix, oat milk and sugar for coffee 280kcals
L - egg and beans on toast - 700kcals
D - lentil and spinach curry with mushroom rice - 750kcals

Want to resist weighing myself in the morning. My plan is to wait at least 3 weeks, ideally 6 weeks before I weigh in but I can already feel myself cracking!

Can anyone recommend a calorie counting app please? Preferably free..

Oysterbabe · 21/02/2021 20:29

I really like myfitnesspal. You can scan barcodes with it rather than having to search for everything.

I've used MFP for ages but someone introduced me to Nutracheck which is useful too. I often just Google calories tand write them down in a notebook, revolutionary I know Grin Today : I made French onion soup for lunch, delicious and low calorie, had a banana afterwards. For dinner had chicken stew followed by blueberries and Greek yoghurt. No booze today. Fingers crossed for a good result on the scales tomorrow.
PutTheCakeDOWN · 21/02/2021 21:42

I find Nutracheck much easier to use and it’s much more accurate - MFP lets users input calorie amounts which can lead to them not being right.

I think it’s each to their own though, try them both and see which you get on with! Nutracheck is something like £3.99 a month after the free trial but it’s well worth it!

Porridge made with water, banana, teaspoon peanut butter

Scrambled egg with smoked salmon, one piece toast, scraping Bertolli spread

Spinach and ricotta cannelloni, broccoli and carrots

Nutella b bar

Coming in at around 1600 cals today

DareIask · 21/02/2021 21:48

Thank you.

So I'm ready... 😆. Tesco is delivering in the morning and I've pretty much done a 7 day menu (hope they don't let me down).

I went for a walk today and was really quite upset about how unfit I've become so I have a vague exercise plan too.

Tomorrow feels a good day to start.. spring is around the corner, Boris is about to share his plan so I need to start mine too.

🤞

Loopyloututu · 21/02/2021 21:59

Hi all,
Did weigh in on Friday and was 11st 13lbs so a 2lb loss - that’s 7lbs in 3 weeks now - even with my cheat day! So quite pleased with that.
Today have had:
L: 3 x poached eggs & one slice brown toast (340)
D: chicken breast, mashed potato, veg, small Yorkshire pud, stuffing ball and gravy (around 750)
2 x coffee, 1 x tea, sugar free squash (100 cals)
= 1200

I’m due on and really craving chocolate though Sad

Cocolapew · 21/02/2021 22:04

Well done Loopy Smile
Juice
Ryvita and cheese
Mini magnum
4 digestives with chocolate Philadelphia
4 fish fingers
Micro chips
Fried egg
Pineapple
Jelly
Cream

Total - 1,480

Loopyloututu · 21/02/2021 22:25

Thanks CocolapeW

Jealous of your philly digestives!

Cocolapew · 21/02/2021 22:32

Its the poor woman's cheesecake Grin

AesopsMables · 22/02/2021 06:32

Weigh in day = 1.2 kilo loss 🥳

How I didn't crack open a bottle yesterday I don't know. It was my hardest day to stay on plan but the thought of the scales kept me away from the treat drawer!

Lunch: lamb shank, peas and one potato = 690cals

Dinner: protein toast with avo and marmite = 260cals

Snack: small bowl of corn chips with salsa = 220cals

1160 cals (plus about 50 on milk for coffee and tea)

New week - Good luck all

MsSquiz · 22/02/2021 08:01

Can I join in please?
I've been calorie counting for 6 weeks now, but last week I completely fell off the wagon, with almost zero exercise and 3 takeaways in a week, plus that time of the month hit! So a full recipe for disaster!

I weighed 12st 10.5 on the 11th Jan and I now weigh 12st 4.5 and I want to get down to 10.5st (I'm 5'1")
I'm on 1240 calories a day

I try to exercise for an hour a day - usually 40 mins walk with the pram and 20 mins aerobic/dance work out with the occasional 20 mins hula hooping.

My downfall is sweet snacks. If I don't have them in, I'll just eat Nutella out of the jar! So I'm trying to be sensible with them. I have mini packs of party rings or jammie dodgers and fun size milky ways or buttons.

I've been using MFP to track my eating, which is the nutracheck app some of use? I tried searching and nothing came up.

Today's food:
Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal toast & 2 grilled turkey bacon rashers
Lunch - probably chicken salad
Dinner - Philly tuna pasta bake & salad
Snacks - 1 cup of decaf tea with 2 sugars, 1 can Pepsi Max cherry, 1 mini biscuit pack

Oysterbabe · 22/02/2021 08:21

Well done AesopsMables

Food for today
B: Muesli 293
L: Prawns, rice, Spinach 391
D: Chicken curry with green beans 483
S: Tangerine 40
Total: 1207

BasinHaircut · 22/02/2021 08:56

Well done @AesopsMables.

Welcome @MsSquiz

Well I cracked and weighed myself. On the face of it it doesn’t look like I’ve lost any weight but I’m not letting that deter me. As I said upthread I am not judging how this is going on the basis of a single week as weight can be so variable. I’m looking at it long-term.

I’m definately eating fewer calories than I was overall, but for now I’m focusing on changing my diet in a way I can stick with long term rather than hoping for quick and large losses and being overly restrictive. I’m not reviewing my calories until it’s been 6 weeks and see where I am then.

For now the goal is to try and stay within calories, or as close to each day as possible, whilst still eating things I like. Hopefully in 6 weeks I will have changed my habits at least!

Have a great week everyone!

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 09:11

Well done @AesopsMables! Star

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 22/02/2021 10:41

Well done @AesopsMables!
Happy to report I've lost 3lbs, sorry I work in old money. Delighted though. I need to stay focused though
Today is French onion soup with half a wholemeal baguette and a pear
An Hello Fresh dinner of 700 calories with blueberries and Greek yoghurt. Plus tea /coffee /water throughout the day
Good luck for the week ahead everyone!

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 10:46

That's fantastic @Oblahdeeoblahdoe!

AesopsMables · 22/02/2021 10:53

Well Done Obla 👍🏽🥳

shenanigans5 · 22/02/2021 11:35

Well done to everyone who’s lost some lbs or kgs this week! Amazing! Star

And welcome to anyone new 👋

I haven’t weighed myself since I lost a lb a few days after starting last week. I don’t currently have high hopes after a very off track day yesterday. I had a sandwich for lunch which was fine then it went downhill with a few G&Ts, a large portion of homemade shepherds pie which was really rich (cheesy mash) and about half a bar of Tony’s chocolate.

Must have been around 3000 cals or something.

So I’m (hopefully) still at 9 st 6 and aiming for a lb this week.

Today it’s total 5 yoghurt, banana and mixed seeds for brunch (280) and a gousto meal for dinner which the recipe card says is 525.

I always use around 100 cal of skimmed milk in coffee and tea which leaves around 300 for a decent mid afternoon snack. Hoping I can stick to at least four sensible days this week from Monday to Thursday 🤞

Someaddedsugar · 22/02/2021 18:44

Totally fallen off the wagon today - still under my allotted calories for the menu was:

Breakfast - Greggs sausage sandwich and a flat white

Lunch - KFC rice box (bought by DP as a treat - not sure what he thought my breakfast was 😂)

Dinner - not really hungry

Snacks - 2x packets of iced gems and 1x packet Milky Way magic stars!!

Oh well... there's always tomorrow (also weight check day 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Someaddedsugar · 22/02/2021 20:09

I'd like to add my snacks - also two slices of toast with marmite and 12 squares of galaxy chocolate 😳.

But I did do 20 minutes of power yoga... still totalling 1800+ calories though!

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 20:51

There was a lot of food shovelled down my throat today..

2 digestives with chocolate Philadelphia

Chilli cheese
3 ryvitas
10 grapes

2 pineapple rings
Half a jelly
Cream

Micro chips
Steakburger
Beans

Strawberries
1 digestive
Chocolate Philadelphia (deconstructed cheesecake 😂

Flake
Crisps

Total - 1429
