Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

PedrosPony · 24/02/2021 19:01

Thanks all for your kind words. I'm definitely not putting too much pressure on myself so will not get strict till it's all over.
Just trying to get into some good habits and get some motivation from you all! I weighed today and was 3 pounds off, but again taking it with a pinch of salt for now. I'm still getting the odd wave of nausea so who knows!

PedrosPony · 24/02/2021 19:04

@Cocolapew

I definitely was less hungry when low carbing and wasn't eating any sugar, but I also felt awful. I expected the keto flu but I ended up with a constant sore head and I was on it for 5 weeks. When the weather is better I might try it again for a couple of weeks, I'm not a fan of salad in the winter and got a bit bored with my diet on it. I was insulin resistant a few years ago, I had PCOS and endometriosis
I don't think I could do low carb in the winter either! There's something about mashed potato on a cold night that I just can't resist!
PedrosPony · 24/02/2021 19:07

@BasinHaircut @Cocolapew yep my fitness pal history is a similar story!!

shinynewapple21 · 24/02/2021 20:14

Not done so well today

Piece of toast with marmite, second piece with low sugar chocolate and hazelnut spread, half a banana, fat free yogurt drink

Two bread rolls with small slice of Brie with cranberry sauce, mug home made veg soup

Nutella b bar

Prawn and pineapple from Chinese with half sachet micro rice and mixed veg

Too much bread today

NotaWickedStepMum55 · 24/02/2021 20:53

I hope it's not too late to join the party. This time last year I started calorie counting and lost 14lb by mid-summer. It felt so good. However I stopped over autumn/winter and half has crept back on. I know why, I just didn't have as many salads and as much exercise as I did spring/summer.

So, I had a 'gastric' few days, and lost a pound, so I felt that this will be a good start.

I used my fat secret last time, so will probably restart it again, tomorrow.....

Someaddedsugar · 24/02/2021 20:53

Not quite as bad a day today in total calories but still need to actually eat some veg - that’s on the list for tomorrow.

Breakfast: coffee, special K with raisins and semi skimmed milk

Lunch: scrambled eggs on one slice of toast

Dinner: mussels in a garlic and wine sauce

Snacks: 2x homemade biscotti, party rings, a carrot and crisps

shinynewapple21 · 24/02/2021 21:09

Hello @NotaWickedStepMum55

What's my fat secret please ?

PutTheCakeDOWN · 24/02/2021 21:29

Hi everyone, having a bit of a down day today and not tracked, but I’ll be back on fighting form tomorrow!!
Keep telling myself it’s better this way - last time I lost weight I was so strict that when I reached target it all just piled back on. Slower and more sustainable loss this time hopefully!

Will catch up tomorrow 💕💕

Great attitude @PutTheCakeDOWN! It's all about mindset. I'm trying to stay focused Monday to Friday so I can relax a bit at the weekend (mostly with gin) Grin
BasinHaircut · 24/02/2021 22:42

@PutTheCakeDOWN chin up! Yes it’s all about the long term goals for me too.

I haven’t calorie counted again today but food was:
Breakfast - porridge with syrup and coffee with sugar
Lunch - turkey stew
Dinner - steak, carrot, swede and potato mash and green beans, banana

Didn’t snack and had a really long walk. Pretty sure calories are under 1700 for the day.

NotaWickedStepMum55 · 25/02/2021 06:25

@shinynewapple21, its an app, rather like my fitness pal. Probably not much difference between them.

Same here. Too much bread and choc buttons yesterday.

Hope you have a better day today Flowers

FedNlanders · 25/02/2021 12:12

Hey everyone. :)

PutTheCakeDOWN · 25/02/2021 13:14

Hi!!
Well I’m seriously struggling today (as to be expected after a couple of bad days - the cravings are nuts!) but I’m determined to see it through! Going hour by hour...! Long walk this morning and out again this afternoon. Will post menu later!

Hope everyone’s having a good day!

BasinHaircut · 25/02/2021 14:47

You can do this @PutTheCakeDOWN !

What calories are you on out of interest? Maybe worth upping a bit to fit in a snack or treat? Even if only for a few days to get back on track.

Listened to something earlier on Instagram about dropping calories too low setting you up for failure which is where I’m going with it this time. Better to only lose half a stone in a year on sustainable calories, than lose quickly and then pile back on.

Good day so far here. I’ve decided on omelette and chips for dinner and I’m really looking forward to it.

I can feel the temptation to snack after dinner creeping back in the past day or so but I’ve been brushing my teeth so that eating again afterwards seems wrong!

FedNlanders · 25/02/2021 14:51

My snack zone time is 2-4pm
If I can get through that im usually ok!

Cocolapew · 25/02/2021 16:20

Urgh I've fell big time Blush feeling very rough due to Lupus flare so I'm giving it a rest for a few weeks then will get back on it.

Hopefully see (less of) you all soon 🙂

Someaddedsugar · 25/02/2021 18:28

I've done ok again today - not great but not bad either...

Breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast with coffee

Lunch - toast with marmite

Dinner - Tik Tok baked feta pasta thing

Snacks (and this is where it all goes wrong) - 1x biscotti with a cup of tea, 1x special k bar and 1x small flapjack square

Someaddedsugar · 25/02/2021 18:29

@FedNlanders that's my problem too - it's usually the boredom hours when working from home as I start early and then head to pick DS up from nursery at around 4.30 so unless I have a meeting at that time I tend to snack which isn't great. And as you say, if I can get through without snacking then I'm usually ok.

shinynewapple21 · 25/02/2021 19:41

Porridge made with water, apple slices, drizzle sweet freedom caramel syrup

Vegetable soup, piece of cheese on toast

Nutella B bar

Half sachet rice, a couple of chips, green beans and sweetcorn, half a can vegetarian chilli

I will probably have a fun size pack of choc buttons this evening

NapCracklePop · 25/02/2021 20:10

I'm a bit late to the party but can I join please? Had a bit of a shock when I weighed myself yesterday and realised I've put on 8kg this year. I need to lose them.
My Fitness Pal tells me to eat 1400 cals a day. I have a physical disability so I'm not very mobile so exercise is limited.

I'm getting some great meal ideas on this thread.

PutTheCakeDOWN · 25/02/2021 20:39

Well done everyone!

@Cocolapew hope you’re feeling better soon. Health and happiness comes first 💐💐

Welcome @NapCracklePop !

I’ve done ok today but not as well as I’d have liked! It’s because I’ve had two crap days, makes the sugar cravings really bad. But I’m feeling positive for tomorrow!
Today went like this -

Breakfast - cornflakes (234)
Lunch - jacket potato with cheese and beans and salad (440)
Dinner - chicken pizza with dips (718!!!!)
Snacks - tea (40) ice cream (90) chorizo (36) cheese (81) plum (28)

Total - 1673

My daily target is 1400 @BasinHaircut
I’m 5’1 and don’t have loads to lose. 1700 is my maintenance so I’m trying hard from now on not to go over that if I’m having a bad day.

Today I had lots of outdoor jobs to do which were quite physical which I think also didn’t help with the cravings 😂😂

Good luck for tomorrow everyone! I’m going to weigh in on Wednesday 🤞🤞
