Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!

@Ihatemyseleffordoingthis

Yesterday went to hell in a handcart for me too. On the success side I had breakfast and lunch as planned. Then the promised fancy hipster bean burger dinner came - mine was actually horrible, so I ate 1 of dd's halloumi fries and some sweet potato fries and salad (fine), half a choux bun and then a massive bag of very delicious low end cheese puffs and a snickers. So deffo up to 2000 cals, all junk, at the end of the day, Epic fail.

But, because of this thread, instead of throwing in the towel, today, I begin again.

Don't be hard on yourself though. It's easily done.

I have one day 'off' a week and am still losing weight this way, so hopefully one slight deviation won't undo all your good work to date.

shenanigans5 · 20/02/2021 12:56

Welcome to all the new people!

And to anyone struggling a bit I totally get it. I have so many downfalls- wine, crisps, chocolate, takeaways to name a few 🤣

I lost 24 lbs on the first lockdown and trying to shift the 6/7 lbs that’s crept back on. Last time I had loads of ‘bad’ days where I had loads of booze or a big pizza. It took me a long time to get to my target of 9 stone but I think it was manageable because I did let myself live a bit and enjoy cocktails and chips when I needed to.

Cocolapew · 20/02/2021 13:35

I actually went for a walk today, first for about 2 weeks. My get up and go seemed to have got up and went.
I've been in limbo with work, I haven't been in since the Christmas holidays because DH is CEV and I have an underlying health condition in and they told me to stay off. But I have no idea when I'm to go back in. I'm scared to ask in case they say now Grin. I'm presuming its until lockdown ends here.
But anyway I'm going to try to get out every day for a bit.
Today's walk went well, I fell into a puddle Hmm

DareIask · 20/02/2021 14:06

I've ordered a new waterproof lightweight jacket so I have one less excuse not to go out walking and done a Tesco shop for Monday... first time I've ordered salad since last summer.

💪

Oysterbabe · 20/02/2021 15:23

Can I join?
I did well on intermittent fasting with a bit of keto thrown in and lost 2 stone of baby weight. I'd like to lose another stone. Then lockdown hit, my activity levels plummeted and I found not eating all day whilst working from home really hard. I haven't lost anything in the last year (but also haven't gained) I need a new approach and calorie counting is what I've picked. It's been a week and so far so good. The benefit of coming at this from being a low carb faster is there's a huge novelty factor. It feels ridiculously decadent to be eating regularly and eating bread and potatoes! It feels like Christmas 😂 Good luck to everyone!

Basinhaircut
At least your meal was homemade. Definitely healthier than a take away which contain more salt, sugar, oil and butter. It is good to log your calories even though you have gone over.

Someaddedsugar
Sounds as though you are on the right track.

It is a new day - write yesterday off. Such a shame the burger was horrible.

Cocolapew · 20/02/2021 16:52

I'm writing today off, I'm bloody starving and DD1 is buying us a chippy Grin

Blabla81 · 20/02/2021 17:15

I’ve started (again) today. No idea what I weigh as I don’t have scales - am just going by how awful I look in the mirror - mainly my face - and by my clothes being tight. I turn 40 this year too so want to make it as positive as possible. Make or break.
My food today has been as so:
2 chocolate orange rice cakes for breakfast
2 chocolate orange rice cakes for lunch
Cup of tea with one sugar to accompany both times.
Large plate of Sausage and Mash with lots of fresh veg for dinner.
I’m hoping that comes in at around 1200 calories.
My biggest issue will be missing my hot chocolate in the evening but I might allow myself half a mug.
Also did a 4 mile walk today and some gardening. Great while the weather is nice so not sure how I other days will be 😩.

That’s how today has gone for me, I’m up to just shy of 2000 but trying desperately not to beat myself up (and failing!).

I was just a bit miserable, it’s raining, inside all day, the kids were nagging me to bake so I made a ginger loaf then promptly ate half of it 🙄 I’d been doing so well too.

But tomorrow’s another day isn’t it!? I just cannot keep getting fatter, I can’t.

But yes, I’m going to start afresh tomorrow. Will try to intermittent fast but I’ve got a very active day so might not work.

I’m in danger of going the same way today. So far I’ve had a large bowl of homemade chicken soup and three satsumas. But I’ve just started on a glass of Prosecco and grabbed a few squares of chocolate. I need to pull it back!

If I can manage a bit of restraint then dinner is a Heck chicken burger in a bun with salad which would bring me in at around 1000 cal so room for another prosecco 🤣

PutTheCakeDOWN · 20/02/2021 18:18

I am absolutely back on track tomorrow. Trying to tell myself that days like this are good for the metabolism...! 🤞

@PutTheCakeDOWN

Chicken burger sounds amazing!
It’s these! They’re only 129 cal if grilled so with a bit of salad, light mayo and a small burger bun it’s quite a low cal dinner.
Starting tomorrow! Who’s with me!?
AesopsMables · 20/02/2021 18:58

Day 7 for me and I've stuck to the 1200 cals religiously. First time I've managed to do this in the last 10 months. I'm tempted to weigh tomorrow instead of Monday, will see how I feel in the morning. Really hope I've lost.

Went on a 2 hr walk today then spent the rest of the day on the sofa.

Lunch : veggie stew and 2 kiwi fruits = 281 cals

Dinner: stir fry egg noodles with veggies and chicken = 600 cals

Snack: skyr apple yoghurt with orange Kit Kat = 300 cals

PutTheCakeDOWN · 20/02/2021 19:39

They look amazing @shenanigans5 !

Well done @AesopsMables 👍👍

I’m currently walking uphill on the treadmill watching it’s a sin....trying to undo some damage...!

Happy to report I've stuck to 1200 calories or lower some days. This was more in anticipation of the last 2 nights as I like a drink on a Friday and Saturday. Just stuck to gin and low cal tonics, no cider or lager this week. I hope it pays off! Weighing in on Monday

PutTheCakeDOWN · 21/02/2021 07:49

@Cocolapew 😂😂

Morning everyone!!
I’m giving intermittent fasting another go today, but the kids want to go riding which usually makes me feel faint enough without lack of food thrown in too, so we’ll see how we get on..!
Got an active day planned and 1200 calories on the menu - if I stick to it(!) I’ll be fine!

Anyone else love planning their menu the next day with how good they’re going to be - then just crack at like 11am? Grin

@PutTheCakeDOWN I work from dinner and work backwards. I have to have a big satisfying dinner so anything else has to fit in around that.

Yesterday I went slightly over again but again I’m comfortable with that. It’s certainly more than I was eating before I started calorie counting and I will give it a few weeks to settle in before I a) work out whether I am able to lose on this amount and b) I get used to hitting that number with the food that I am eating.

Yesterday’s food diary:
Breakfast - porridge, syrup and coffe with sugar 280kcals
Lunch - 2 slices focaccia, pesto and cream cheese 540kcals
Dinner - Richmond meatless sausages, cauliflower cheese, sprouts, potato, carrot and swede mash, slice of focaccia 1,000kcals

1,820kcals total.

Today I might make a stew and have dumplings. I’ll have to have less dumpling than normal though. I do love a dumpling!

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 21/02/2021 12:49

If I fell off the wagon on Friday, yesterday I just lay in the road watching it speed away, creating dustclouds. I did a 14 hour working day. So I had an ok lunch of poached salmon and salad and then just ate crisps and drank diet coke whilst I worked. No self-reproach though.

Today I'm running after the wagon again. DH is making some Anna Jones style vegetarian thing to use up the butternut squash and artisan grains we seem to have a lot of, so I will have some of that, and salad and veg as my main meal. And chop up a lot of nice fruit and crudites to keep the crisp cravings away.
