I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Feeling better already. Going out for a walk soon to top up the steps...nearly weigh in!!

Phew! Well done! I hate feeling hungry, it's my absolute undoing.

A lovely evening for a stroll. Really rooting for a good weigh in for you on Monday. I am sure you will see a good result. I'll weigh again so we're on the same track.

Have nailed it today and stuck to 1300. Done just shy of 10k steps but will try and increase tomorrow.

Am now drinking green day and planning a 9pm bedtime!

How is everyone else?

Todayillbebetter · 25/08/2018 20:58

Great plan Thrown! Well done on the steps and 1300 cals. Think I'm a bit over that but I'm still off work and enjoying some chill time. Once I'm back in September the real 1200 a day can start.

Hope you get your early night. It's the safest way not to eat isn't it?!

OP posts:
ThrownMuse · 26/08/2018 07:44

Early nights are the way forward!

I was really aware yesterday of how much mindless eating I do! Finishing off DS's meals (or throwing in an extra fish finger for me), snacking, huge portions...wine!

Like you I'm also off so it's tricky to accommodate everything. I'm not making a big deal of it all (no grand diet announcements), just reducing portion sizes and making better choices. And moving!

ThrownMuse · 26/08/2018 07:47

What is everyone eating today?

A couple of boiled eggs for me for brekkie; salad/pitta/cottage cheese for lunch, then roast chicken with a mega ton of veggies. No roast spuds!

Todayillbebetter · 26/08/2018 08:51

No I've not made any 'announcements' this time either. I really don't want the attention and it gets more stressful.

When are you back to work Thrownmuse?
How is everyone else doing?
Today I'm making clear chicken soup with a few vegetables in. I'm going to the cinema and I will take some chocolate and so I need to have a low calorie day in order for that to happen!!

ThrownMuse · 26/08/2018 10:13

I agree! The minute I make a diet announcement I immediately sabotage it! My DP has come back from holiday want g to cook more (it won't last!) and has spent the morning baking bread...

Is that your own recipe? Sounds wonderful! Good luck in the cinema and good thinking taking it your own chocolate!

Weirdly looking forward to Monday and weigh in day.

Iamclearlyamug · 26/08/2018 21:41

I'll join!! Firstly I'm 5'7 and dead on 12 stone

Well I started today well, up at 5.45 and spent 2 hours at work mucking out and dealing with 7 horses. Then I went to the gym and did a solid 45 minute workout (25 minute run and then some resistance/weight training) THEN I walked into town in the pouring rain with my mum, only a couple of miles but still an extra. Then back to the horses for another 30 minutes.

Then it goes BADLY WRONG! I have eaten FOUR THOUSAND calories in 4 hours - how does someone even do that? You name it I've eaten it, sweets, chocolate, doughnuts, stuffed pasta in a creamy mascarpone sauce

Oh god I'm fasting all day tomorrow as punishment 😭😭

Todayillbebetter · 26/08/2018 22:03

Welcome Iamckearly....you are in excellent company! I completely fucked up today as well. Had a crappy upsetting day and so I fell apart. But, I'm weighing anyway tomorrow and getting straight back on it. We have to accept that every now and then we will splurge - but it's what we do afterwards that counts. I had a blip .....but I'm not giving in.

I hope you have a good day tomorrow but don't punish yourself. You can only do your best. That's all any of us can do Flowers

ThrownMuse · 27/08/2018 06:02

Hello clearly! With that amount of exercise I'd be eating a huge amount of calories too! As Today said, you're in good company here.

Crossing my fingers for your weigh in Today. I'm just about to do the same.

I am sure your blip will be minor, but most importantly, I hope you are ok? Rough days are brutal for emotional eating. Big hug.

ThrownMuse · 27/08/2018 06:17

Monday 27/08: 15.10. 😲

duckii · 27/08/2018 07:51

I'm at in my inlaws.. I have been for a week so cannot weight myself until I'm back tomorrow! But I haven't been eating that great whilst staying here.

@ThrownMuse how much did you lose this week? Looks like you've done well! Well done Grin

Fernweh · 27/08/2018 07:58

Wow thrown! That's brilliant!

I've had a few days resting, I don't know if the tablets are making me tired but I've felt exhausted @Rockchick1984 I'm on fluoxetine (Prozac) and beta blockers (propranolol).

I've lost 2lb 😀 Even after all the self sabotaging!

Feeling a bit more positive this week!

ThrownMuse · 27/08/2018 08:01

Hey ducki. Enjoy your time with your family and get in the groove when you get back. Dieting whilst away is impossible.

I've lost 2 since weighing on Saturday but this is wine weight! I generally lose very slowly (and thus get disheartened). But I am really determined this time. I currently weigh more than when I was 9 months pregnant. Oops.

What are people eating today? Usual bpil3d eggs for me, then chicken salad wrap for lunch, homemade beef chilli for tea. Fruit and yog for battling hunger pangs.

Taking DS to local skate park so will try and do some steps whilst there. Only managed 8500 yesterday as weather was filthy.

Hope everyone else is ok?

ThrownMuse · 27/08/2018 08:04

Woo hoo Fern!!! That's amaxing. Esp when considering blips and meds. Really pleased for you. Star

Todayillbebetter · 27/08/2018 08:20

Morning everyone. So pleased to see all the weigh ins happening.
Good luck for tomorrow duckii!

Thrown and Fern - great news as well. We will never weigh as much again we will only go down from now.

Trying to be positive! I weighed and have lost 4.5lbs. mad at myself for yesterday but will hold it together for today and work hard to have a WHOLE good week without having a binge (yesterday was a huge binge in the end). I've no doubt yesterday will catch up and prevent the same loss for this coming week so cannot slip up again. Although, holiday times are so flipping difficult being sat around all the time.
Out of routine never works and it's so reassuring to hear others on here have exactly the same food issues. I can be honest here - I hope everyone else feels that too Flowers

duckii · 27/08/2018 08:28

@ThrownMuse @Fernweh that's amazing! Seeing any amount of weight loss always makes me positive and more determined.

So is everyone on a strict diet? Or just trying to eat healthy ? Before I was away, I was trying to be as strict as I could.. so eating as little carbs as I could. But it was hard. My daily routine would be:

Breakfast - usually nothing as too busy with the baby and not sure what healthy, quick breakfast could grab.

Lunch - 2 scrambled eggs or a veg omelette. Occasionally with slice of whole meal bread. Or tuna with wholemeal pasta

Dinner - chicken/lamb/fish with veg or wholegrain quinoa rice or both

Snacks - low fat yoghurt , nuts, carrot/cucumber sticks (this bit is hard)

I try to drink as much water as I could and orange squash. I read somewhere if you feel hungry, then drink a big glass of water. It does work, but you have to be really strong. I'm not Blush. With the baby, I just used to grab chocolate or crisps or biscuits as it was quick and easy.

Any tips for healthy snacks? Does anyone use my fitness pal?

MeMyselfand · 27/08/2018 08:29

Hi just seen your thread. You are all doing so well. I'm on a mumsnet fitbit group, it's really helped me up my steps if any of you are interested in a bit of healthy competition, it's made a huge difference to me having others to compete against

Todayillbebetter · 27/08/2018 08:35

Oh that sounds good Memyselfand

How do we join? Sounds like a great idea for those of us working on keeping our steps up!

I'm not being ultra strict. Just trying to keep to under 1400 calories. But I'm not too fussy on where the calories are coming from at the moment. In another week I'll try and cut the carbs too.
