I am at my highest weight since being pregnant 10 years ago. I am 14 stone and 5ft 6.
I just couldn't stop eating/ bingeing and saw myself go above 12, 13 and now at 14 stone. All put on in a year - a stressful year.

I've resorted my fitbit, got the app and walked 5k yesterday and today with an aim to eat 1200 calories. But food is my mental comfort. Gah
I need new clothes now I'm too fat for everything I own.

Ah, so kind both of you on the food pardoning! Can't say yesterday was much better but I'm gearing up for January!

Congrats on running, drspouse, not just doing it, but finding the window to do it. And a takeaway to boot!

Well done Rafals, are you finding it easier yet? I've been really surprised at how simple it was to move from run/walk/run to just running now. I'm really enjoying it.

NYD I'm going sea swimming! Well, perhaps a v quick paddle!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/12/2018 09:21

I’m not sure about easier. It feels harder at the start of a run than I remember it being. But after the 2 min walk the last 6 mins were quite easy. Maybe it’s because I haven’t run for 10 days.

69.8kg this morning. Which is the first time I’ve been under 70kg since the asthma flare up 2 years ago.

drspouse · 30/12/2018 10:42

That's good Rafael
Are the 52 small steps specific ones or do you choose your own?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/12/2018 13:51

It’s a book, so they are specific ones.

This one

Week 1 is drinking plenty of water. I’m going to switch the soft drinks to water. Not sure why I started drinking them again after 2 years of only really drinking water.

drspouse · 30/12/2018 16:14

Ah I think I'd be happier doing my own ideas.

drspouse · 31/12/2018 19:47

Another run!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/12/2018 19:56

Well done drspouse. I’ve been a bit wheezy for the last couple of days, so not going today. Might go tomorrow, but more likely Wednesday.

Not sure I fancy a unplanned trip to minors/A&E on NYE.

drspouse · 31/12/2018 20:12

No, I did that last year on Christmas Day so please don't.

ThrownMuse · 01/01/2019 06:47

Happy 2019 to you both!

Did you do anything nice? We were all in bed by 9pm - busy day and DS and DP a bit under the weather.

How are you feeling Rafals?

Good running drspouse! You feeling ok? I did week 7, day 1 yesterday, and asides from feeling a twinge of shin splints, loved it. I'm def keeping up running in 2019.

Will try and get back on the healthy eating today, and going for a quick sea swim too. Oh, and taking the tree down.

Have a great day.

ThrownMuse · 02/01/2019 12:06

Happy Wednesday all - there are lots of new weight loss threads popping up, but I'm hoping ours will stay the course for a little longer!

How is everyone doing?

DS is out at the park with his friend, so I'm just clearing up a bit (tree went yesterday), getting ahead for the Big Return to work and school tomorrow. Luckily I have a week before meeting with my supervisors/teaching starts, so I have time to reorientate myself!

I'll run tomorrow and then swim on Friday. Food so far today has been on track.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 02/01/2019 18:03

Happy Wednesday and Happy New Year.

Not really on track for food or exercise today. Although I have done 7,500 steps without realising it. Chest is still a bit tight, so not sure whether to try a gentle, easier run or just leave it.

ThrownMuse · 03/01/2019 05:11

Sorry to hear that Rafals, hope you feel better soon.

I've struggled to be 100% on it, but DS back to school today so normality is finally resumed!

I'm going to start logging my meals again so I can get my routine back.

B: Egg on toast
L: Small jacket & beans, but salad
D: Small quorn cottage pie and peas
S: Banana, cup a soup, 10 cal jelly

And week 7, day 2 of C25K.

Feeling good about getting back to it now, and no drinking til next Fri.

Good luck everyone!

ThrownMuse · 03/01/2019 05:11

Big salad!

ThrownMuse · 03/01/2019 09:15

Week 7, run 2 done! Really loving it though super slow still.

drspouse · 03/01/2019 09:19

I've been hanging in there with the steps and counting food, haven't always stayed under my totals and haven't weighed myself yet!
Going to do week 1 run 3 this afternoon.

ThrownMuse · 03/01/2019 10:20

Don't worry, drspouse - I'm weighing next Friday 11 as my first 'proper' weigh in for Jan 2019! I need a week off the food and booze to give my self a chance of not giving up when I see what the scales say!

ThrownMuse · 03/01/2019 10:20

Oh and good luck with the run, how are the trainers?

drspouse · 03/01/2019 11:07

They are pretty good, thanks!

MostlyHungryAgain · 05/01/2019 15:53

Hello lovelies!!
I couldn't find this thread for a while and had palpitations!

Happy new Year to you all, wishing you a slender 2019!!

Clocking in at 74.7 which in the grand scheme of things I am quite pleased with - every meal I have eaten in the last 2/3 weeks has been heavy, nothing raw etc but I have been really trying to not have seconds etc and I am quite pleased to not have put on TOO much. One day I had some christmas cake but apart from that I dind't have anything too bad!

Have drunk like a fish though every day!!

Straight back to it, I have my porridge oats soaking with oat milk and almonds for breakfast, a tin of soup for lunch with some oatcakes and am not sure about dinner yet!

How are you all??? How was christmas?

ThrownMuse · 06/01/2019 07:00

Hello Mostly, how fab to hear from you..happy 2019!

I was beginning to wonder if we should draw a line under this thread! Lovely to see you and hope you had a fantastic break? Our was really relaxed, even with an 8 year old!

Well done on the weigh in (I'm going to weigh on Friday 11/01, just needed a week to get back on top of it all!). Like you, I have also drunk the world, so needed some distance from that too! Well, until next Friday, anyway, let's be sensible!

My next goal is 10 pounds by Friday 15/02, which is 6 weeks away.

Any goals for you? I'm back on MFP, too, which I had been very lazy with, but it def keeps me on track.

Just about to head out for a run - am now on Week 7, Run 3, and I'm really, really enjoying it! I've alos had a swim this week, and am taking DS this afternoon, so really want to keep the exercise going.

What is everyone up to today?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 06/01/2019 09:40

Happy New Year Mostly.

70.2 this morning, which is a slight gain from last week. But given I’ve stopped exercising completely this week is not surprising. Especially since there’s a lot of Christmas food still left at work.

Going for a run this evening, but mama I’m going to go back to either week 4 or start of week 5 and take it gently.

10lb In 6 week’s sounds like a manageable target thrown.

MostlyHungryAgain · 06/01/2019 13:28

Break was good thanks Thrown although it is very nice to be back home again. Trying to juggle being back at work with a mountain of laundry to do. Glad you had a nice time too.

Well done on the running you two! While away I had planned when back to get up at 5am every day to do half an hour on the treadmill in the morning but that hasn't happened yet (!)

I am going to target a kilo a week I think - manageable, slow and steady. Just a healthy outlook on food, less junk, trying to move more, trying to control calories to around 1200 ish a day and no manic binges or starvations!

with room for a few gin and sodas!

Needs must etc. Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 06/01/2019 19:17

Did week 5 run 1. Wasn’t too bad. Might go back to my original plan which was to run that 3 times, then do run 2 three times.

Been doing ok with switching to only drinking water rather than juice. This week is about sleep. Really need to start going to bed at the same time. So if you see me on MN after 10pm, you have my permission to yell at me to switch my phone off. Grin

MostlyHungryAgain · 07/01/2019 00:39

Roger that Rafals!
Running plan sounds good.

Do you listen to music while running or does the app provide music/motivational speaking or counting to keep you going?

Hope you had a good sleep.

Have a good day all!

drspouse · 07/01/2019 08:33

I use the NHS podcast which gives you music as well as timings.
Feeling really unwell today - bug of some kind - so no running. I'm probably going to call in sick when I've dropped off the DCs.
