I'm 5foot 2 and weigh 14stone 8lb

How did this happen. I am so, so ashamed of myself. I used to weigh in 13 stone, then overhauled my whole diet and got down to 9stone 8lb.

But I've put it all back on. And so much more. This is shameful and I cannot believe I have let it get this bad. I've even had to buy some size 20 tops. I have tried slimming world but that didn't really
Work for me. So I'm back to calorie counting. And 5:2. From today. I've got to stop making excuses. I am going on an amazing holiday in January with my 2 best friends and. CAN'T be the size I am now.

I am sick of feeling tired, uncomfortable and just plain shit because of what I eat. I've taken before photos (won't post them as they would scar you forever) and have stuck a photo of myself at my smallest when I still thought I looked fat on the fridge for inspiration. I can do this!!!

Home sweet home now. And about to get picked up for running 🙈 I actually emailed my colleague and cancelled (had the pathetic excuse that I would be too cold) but she guilt tripped me into going. So now I'm sat waiting, look RIDICULOUS in my Lycra and feeling like I'm going throw up.

You've done amazing! You've got the right idea, distracting yourself when you feel hungry. Once your mind is over that hurdle, it's ok. Your tea sounds so lovely! I'm having a jacket potato (for a change ha) it's on low in the oven but to be honest, I could take it or leave it. But I'm sure I'll devour it when I get home.

Welcome Heir!! Same here, I am either thinking of food or thinking about how horrible I look because I've eaten all the food. What are you planning on doing? Calorie counting/slimming world etc?

Bloody brilliant telly!!!!! I am in awe and so proud of you! Blooming marvellous!

I'm just finishing work and about to make dinner. Bit late tonight and I have barely moved from my backside / desk all day. Today will not be good for my weight!!

Thanks. I can't believe it. Never ever ever thought I'd be able to that. I know I've only done 1 mile so I'm not exactly mo farah but if there's a club near you, I couldn't recommend it enough. Everyone was so nice!

Haven't had my tea yet either. Just got back and putting ds to bed then I'm going to devour it.

You might not have done much In terms of moving (which is completely unavoidable when you have a desk job) but you haven't been munching on sugary snacks all day so you're doing really well too. Feel really proud of both of us!! All I want now is a big glass of wine ha

Can I offer a few tips as a fellow shortie? These have worked for me recently.

-drink 850ml-1L of water before you eat anything and then don't eat anything for at least 20 mins in the morning

-if you buy anything bad, immediately throw half of it away (if driving chuck out the window (obvs without the packet)) or into a dirty bin so no foraging later

-brush your teeth after dinner in the evening so you get out of the habit of tv snacking

-download virtual gastric band and do the night time sessions before bed.

Good luck!

I am pleased I went! Legs are killing me already so dread to think what tomorrow will bring

Ugh I hate that too full feeling. Makes me feel really tired.
Are you still sticking to one meal a day?

Thanks for the tips raspberry! I've been guzzling water to the point it's making me feel sick but it really does fill me up!

How are your legs this morning telly? Not too bad I hope!!

Yes just one meal again today. I am going to try and do that all week to help keep my appetite in check because we are away for three nights over the weekend (and mon-wed off work, yay!!) and that is going to be a food fest!

Are you feeling motivated and good today heir? We can do this.

Like jelly! And aching a bit but all in all not too bad. I was STARVING when I woke up this morning though and have a terrible headaches so been and brought a few bits from Tesco but they're all nibbly. Just feel a bit out of sorts today so I need food. Must be my body reacting to the excercise, it's not used to it!

Ooo I love a weekend away. But love time off work more. I'm off out for food and cocktails Friday night so 1 meal tomorrow and Thursday then my night out hopefully won't have too much of an impact.

Hope you're feeling ok Heir

Gahhh I am struggling today. Work is really stressful again and I am really having to fight myself not to go and raid the fridge. I don't even feel hungry so i have no excuse.

Hope you are doing ok despite the horrible headache :-(

I came on to say I'm really struggling today as well :( I've had a big bag of popcorn that I was meant to ration (210 calories) and forgot my dinner and they had no nice sandwiches so had a cheese and onion roll that was 175. Then I had a yogurt (58 cals) and a bit of fruit. So nothing too dramatic but not good. Just need to try and keep my mind off food until tea time.

That mental battle is so, so hard. All you can do is try and take your mind elsewhere (easier said then done), but if you are hungry, try some soup or something low calorie to fill the gap. Or maybe a low cal hot chocolate if you've got any in for a 'treat'.

Headache has gone thankfully. Feel really lathargic and work is really hard today. 20 minutes ago I was thinking about going home, ordering food in and having a cosy night with wine and doctor foster. But I can't 😭

Hope your stressful day gets better

Thank you for the welcome!

I am going with calorie counting, I think it is the most sustainable thing for me. I have been very successful with Slimming World before but have really struggled to get back into it since DS was born, I don't have the time I had before to meal plan and spend ages cooking. So tracking with MFP and trying to up the exercise. I did my first ever park run on Saturday!

Today's food: oats with yogurt and pineapple this morning, tuna salad for lunch and some quick tortellini this evening with a tomato sauce. Fruit and one packet of corn snack things. Loads of water and a couple of cups of tea.

Your food today sounds perfect Heir! Massive well done on the park run, have you ran before? I couldn't get used to slimming world. I just ate and ate because it was 'free'. But a bag of potatoes is going to have an impact 🙈

Well I've just sat down to my SECOND lunch of the day. Had my dinner early as things were so hectic so when things quietened down, I stuffed my face. But I'm stuck peckish and it's gone quiet again so just had ANOTHER cheese roll (dam you Tesco and your 2 packs of thing!!!) and had a little cake from someone's birthday :( feel like I've let myself down already. Aghhh this is so hard. Only been healthy eating one day this week. This is a pathetic attempt at a diet

Don't give up telly everyone has an off day and as long as you keep your evening meal healthy there will be no harm done!! What's on your menu for tonight?

I think I will go and make myself another hot drink. If that doesn't work then I'll go with your suggestion of a low cal hot choc. I cannottttttttt wait for dinner! Only 5.5 hours to go :-(. I'm having a big bowl of chilli with broccoli rice. And maybe a sooon of DH's proper rice.

heir your meal plan sounds great, well done you. Breakfast sounds tasty! I've never done the last and yogurt thing but I think I will like it.

Tonight it's roasted veg with a quorn steak and 3-4 baby potatoes. Just finished work for the day (headache has come back with a vengeance) so going treat myself to a bath bomb from lush and some nice new bedding instead of the takeaway, cake and bottle of wine I'd normally treat myself to.

Hopefully the hot drink has sorted you out by now but if not, I'm sure the hot chic will hit the spot

Oats and yoghurt is lovely, especially left overnight with some fruit in.

Oh telly the thought of a takeaway and a bottle of wine...... if only!!!!

I found some chicken bovril in the cupboard and am having a spoon of that in hot water. The savoury taste is satisfying and not many cals so I don't feel like I'm breaking my fast disastrously. Probably a bit high in salt but nevermind.

I've never cooked with quorn, are you veggie?

New bedding is my favourite. Lovely high thread count Egyptian cotton.....yes please!!

I've just had a call at work and the result is result is that I have to work all evening under loads of pressure. In fairness my boss has apologised but all I want now is to say screw if, takeaway tonight. :-( :-(

Yep I'm a veggie, have been for my entire life. Brought myself the new bedding and it's lush! But I have disappointing news. My mum met me after school and we went to....mcdonalds 😭 I only had a large fries and a milkshake but I feel terrible now. I just couldn't resist.

But nothing I can do now. To be honest, I felt terrible when I finished work, really lethargic and in a slump almost. I am SURE it's because I've had something to eat. Yesterday, I didn't touch anything till
About 9 and I felt brilliant! Loads of energy and not tired at all. 100% sticking to 1 meal a day. So back on it tomorrow, not going to beat myself up over it.

Ah no, that sounds horrible :( just think, the takeaway will be a fleeting good feeling but afterwards you'd feel bad. How about having that hotchocolate with a bit of whiskey in for a treat instead? But at the same time, if you DO have one, it should not the end of the world and you've had nothing else all day

Hehe telly that post made me giggle. I hope you enjoyed your McDs. At least you didn't have loads, my problem is that I'd have had the fries and then gone, oh well I've ruined it now, bring on the chocolate. So well done!

I have just taken a 20 min break from my work to go and get the chilli cooking. I could feel my resolve slipping by the minute so I've started it off so i won't be tempted by a takeaway. Back to my desk I go! Booooo.

It will be worth it when I can enjoy myself over our little break without feeling guilty.

Well I used to run quite a bit, but that like everything has gone a bit west since DS arrived. Long story short, I had a very traumatic birth which led to PTSD and PND so rather got lost for a while and stopped looking after myself. Things are a lot better now though, hence trying to feel a bit better about my weight too. I would really recommend park run, everyone was so welcoming. To spur me on further I have signed up for a 10k next month Shock

I agree re Slimming World Telly - I am a natural binger so being told I can eat 'as much as you like' of things was not good! Same with 5:2 for me - I overate so much on eating days that the fast days had very little effect.

I've just finished work but I ate the most enormous plate of chilli and I also ate 4 marshmallows. Rubbish!!!!!!!!

heir 10k!!!! Wow!!! Good luck!!

Well yesterday ended up going a crap, rubbish day. And I well and truly fell off the wagon. But today is a new day, not going feel bad about it as not going to change anything and just going to stay focussed. Going to try and have nothing to eat at all today (I'm well aware this does not sounds very healthy but my body really doesn't need the calories after yesterdays catastrophe!!) and I have a busy evening so I'm just going to keep with my water, and hope I see the numbers decreasing on the scales come Saturday!

Iampert, massive well done one not getting the takeaway. It's hard not o give into that temptation. And having a large portion of food and some marshmallows sounds fine, you're dropping so many calories anyway. Keep going, your my inspiration!!

Wow Heir, 10k!! That's so good. Do you enjoy running? I find it torturous. But I think that's because my only experience of running before Monday was on a feeezibg cold track in pe, being made to wear tiny shorts which with my thighs, wasn't the best look. The head of the running club recommended park run to me as well so might look into that. It's really good you're doing something for yourself, and reacquainting yourswlf with something that you love and is solely 'yours'.
