How did this happen. I am so, so ashamed of myself. I used to weigh in 13 stone, then overhauled my whole diet and got down to 9stone 8lb.

But I've put it all back on. And so much more. This is shameful and I cannot believe I have let it get this bad. I've even had to buy some size 20 tops. I have tried slimming world but that didn't really
Work for me. So I'm back to calorie counting. And 5:2. From today. I've got to stop making excuses. I am going on an amazing holiday in January with my 2 best friends and. CAN'T be the size I am now.

I am sick of feeling tired, uncomfortable and just plain shit because of what I eat. I've taken before photos (won't post them as they would scar you forever) and have stuck a photo of myself at my smallest when I still thought I looked fat on the fridge for inspiration. I can do this!!!

@TellysAndWellys are you still out there?!

TellysAndWellys · 07/01/2018 00:57

@Iampert I am still here! Sorry I have been missing in action for so long, I have been having an horrendous time with family matters. All is ok now. I have just stepped away from all social media/internet stuff for a little bit but now everything is ok now so I'm back! How have you Been? Happy New Year!

Welcome to all the new people! I will have a proper read of the thread later, although I can see some posts have been deleted. What have I missed there? I miss all the excitement. I weighed myself this morning (but on a friends scales instead of trusty Tesco) and it 12stone 8.5lbs! Hut they are different scales so I'm probably 20stone.

Sorry for beinf away for so long. But I'm back now. Going away next week so one last push to lose 4stone in 7 days so I've been sticking to one meal a day and lots of water

Hope all is ok and sorted now @TellysAndWellys nice to have you back!!

I’ve just had my Sainsbury’s shop delivered full of low carb and healthy food for the week. Hoping I can shift a bit of my belly fat! Even my coat is getting tight!

TellysAndWellys · 07/01/2018 20:18

All is ok now thanks @Iampert. Well, as ok as it can be with my crazy family Hmm

Good Luck with the low-carb! I've heard it's amazing. I'm basically made up of bread and potatoes so there's no way on earth I could stick to it but I'm sure you will do brilliantly! I have been sticking to one meal a day but the meal isn't very healthy so although I'm not consuming a crazy amount of calories I aren't getting a lot of vitamins. Going to go shopping after work tomorrow and stock up on fruit and veg.
And try to avoid the crisp aisle

Oooo I’m sure you are doing well tellys.

Today I am going to have a salad for lunch and then a chicken and chorizo jambalaya or courgetti for dinner - undecided as yet! Courgetti would be lower carb of course but I’d only have a small portion of the rice dish. Whatever we don’t have tonight will be tomorrow’s dinner instead!!

I didn’t stand on the scales this morning - thought it’d put me in a bad mood (yesterday I ate far too much!) so I’m just focusing on being good today.

I’m finding it really hard to focus properly on my job at the moment. Knowing that I’m about 4 months I’ll be heading off is making me struggle to get excited about any of the longer term projects I won’t be there to see through, and I’m suddenly obsessed with thinking about the baby and baby stuff and Work seems so dull in comparison! Of course that’s really bloody stupid because 4 months is a really long time - I need to get a grip!!!!!

CamdenTownie · 08/01/2018 20:10

Hey everyone!

I had two good days but the scales didn't shift which was disappointing. Today I've barely had time to eat, so I did manage a proper breakfast of porridge oats with a banana, lunch was at about 2pm and consisted of two hard boiled eggs, I've just got home and eaten half a pack of cooked chicken with a squirt of salad cream, and a Jaffa cake.

I'm so tired I think I'll just go to bed! The upside to being really busy at work is that I don't get the chance to scoff loads of rubbish!

I hope everyone else is doing well 😊

TellysAndWellys · 08/01/2018 20:13

Dinner tonight was a small jacket potato with a bit of sour cream, peppers, sweet corn, mushroom and a teeny bit of cheese. It was yummy. Followed by fruit and accompanied with a pint of water. Made a couple extra so same lunch tomorrow as well.

Yeah that's the best thing. Weighing yourself when you know you haven't been good can be a bit of a kick up the arse but some days you just don't need to see them numbers so just carry on being good and weigh yourself another day. I'm staying at a friends for a few nights and she has scales in her bathroom and it's so tempting to step on them every time I go in there.

I felt exactly the same at work! Partly the excitement of the baby and all the planning for him and partly the fact that work and everything that goes with it suddenly pales in comparison to this massive life changing thing that's happening to you. I have no tips but I promise the 4 months will fly by.

Well done @TellysAndWellys and @CamdenTownie

Camden I wish I’d done what you did and skipped dinner and headed to bed. My dinner went horribly wrong and ended up having pasta with my courgetti cause sainos delivered 2 courgettes instead of 6! Then dh insisted we eat the M&s syrup steamed puddings we bought and sit eat on the weekend. Definitely that decision was nothing at all to do with me!

Feeling grumpy because I was super good all day and I ruined all my god intentions. Determined tomorrow will be better.

lampert · 09/01/2018 12:05

Well my planned salad lunch is feeling decidedly unappealing right now. I have workmen in today so working from Home but unfortunately one needs the front door open and the other the back door so it’s absolutely Baltic in the house! I’m sitting here with my coat on and a hot water bottle but so cold I can barely function and my leftover veggie pasta is calling to me from the fridge!! Mmmmmm warm food!!

Marmite17 · 09/01/2018 16:53

I take Levothyroxine but still am overweight Main concern is bursitis in my hip I'm going for portion control as I eat healthily anyway Have to as blood tested show vitamin deficiencies, I've lost 3 pounds by just leaving food when no longer hungry ,over 3 weeks

TellysAndWellys · 09/01/2018 19:09

Weighed myself again this morning and scales are saying 12stoke 12.5 so unless I've put on 4lbs in a couple of days, I think the scales are just rubbish. Going to stay away from home scales now and just stick to the Supermarket one I use.

Today has been terrible. Nando's for dinner then had the jacket potato for tea but I've piled it with cheese and whacked loads of sour cream. Just polished off a bag of veggie gummy sweets as well.

I'm 5' 6" and weighed 13 stone 5 pounds 2 weeks ago (heaviest ever) Amazed but lost 3 pounds with reducing portion size, bread and potatoes in particular. I think having eggs for breakfast has helped as less hungry. Worried about my weight as I have bursitus in my hip plus now another foot injury likely to lead to more problems with gait. Read that every pound you gain can increase pressure on joints by at least double that amount. Doctor is also saying I should lose weight.
I lost 10 pounds calorie counting a few years ago but it was difficult; constantly thinking about food plus meal planning. I naturally have days when I don't feel that hungry and am now following that so maybe one meal one day; 3 the next.
Also trying to save money. When I injured my foot discovered that I have at least 2 months worth of food in the freezer, cans etc Tends to be stuff which involves prep eg frozen fish fillets; also binned frozen chicken, even cans well past their expiry date.Donated some to the food bank.
Still buying perishable stuff like veg, milk, eggs, bread, Hoping that this approach will work. Really surprised that it has, especially as I've been unable to exercise.

Marmite17 · 11/01/2018 15:02

Sorry just realised I've repeated some of what I said yesterday!

lampert · 11/01/2018 18:06

Disaster food day today. I was in the office, forgot my balanced homemade lunch and ate crap.

Kit kat, popcorn, half a chicken salad sandwich, chicken soup, crisps and a twirl. Absolutely horrendous, I am ashamed of myself.

Dinner tonight is chicken, veg and prawn jambalaya, but I’d better make it a very small portion. Problem is because what I’ve eaten today is utter crap and with no nutritional value, I’m flipping starving!

lampert · 12/01/2018 08:45

Stick with my small dinner so at least that’s one good thing.

I’ve just weighed myself and I’ve gained 8lbs since getting pregnant. I’m 20 weeks now so that gain is within the ok range for my weight and height but it’s far more than I’d like because i can tell quite a bit of that is on my hips and face etc and there is def an additional layer of fat on my tummy :-(

Gonna try not to eat well and not gain any more for a couple of weeks but I don’t know how feasible that is.

TellysAndWellys · 13/01/2018 12:07

Morning everyone! I had a TERRIBLE day yesterday.
Breakfast: pancakes, strawberry and ice cream
Dinner: huge sandwich, bag of crisps, few chips and can of coke
Tea; Veggie burger, chips, coleslaw, garlic bread, 3 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, 1 glass of coke and cheesecake for desert Blush

Just disgusting. I've weighed myself this morning and I'm still the same but I know it's all go to catch up with me. There's just no need for me to eat that much in one day. Breakfast this morning has been fruit and plain yoghurt. Going to have a late dinner/early tea (not sure what yet) to try and limit the calories.

@Iampert it's horrible to see the numbers on the scale going up, even though some of it is just the baby. My face BALOONED when I was pregnant. Maybe just try and reduce portion sizes or eat little and often. Has yku sickness gone? Can't believe you're 20 weeks already!

TellysAndWellys · 13/01/2018 12:09

Sorry Marmite missed your post! Reducing portion sizes is such a good idea as you're not actually missing out on the food you like and your stomach will start getting used to having a little less food. Well done on losing the 3lb, that really is such a brilliant loss!

Morning ladies.

Yesterday I had soup, quiche and salad for lunch and then a roast followed by apple and cinnamon meringues for pudding. Not good, but I’m at my dad’s for the weekend and his partner always feeds us big time! Gahhh.

Today we will have salad before heading home so just gotta try and choose something sensible for dinner tonight.

I’ve ordered a food shop for tomorrow with salad bits for lunches and trying to have lower carb dinners - fingers crossed!

CamdenTownie · 14/01/2018 20:33

Hey everyone!

I've been awol again, it seems to happen when I have a rubbish day (or two) which was Thursday and Friday last week, I've been so busy at work that I just haven't had time to eat lunch, which means by the time I do get to eat I'm starving and eat anything I can lay my hands on 🤭

I weighed myself this morning and after having two evenings of eating rubbish I've put on 1.75lbs 🙄

Got back on it yesterday though, and today has also been good -I've stuck to my 1000 calories and planned food god the next three days, tomorrow I'm having edamame stir fry for dinner and I've got my fingers crossed that I get a chance to eat during work tomorrow🤞

I think know that I do need to move more, it's just trying to find the motivation to do it, I'm just so tired all of the time.

Hope everyone else is doing a bit better than I am!

lampert · 15/01/2018 09:08

Morning ladies, happy Monday.

Well done @CamdenTownie for getting back on it. I think we all have a tendency to disappear a bit when things are going badly!

Do I remember rightly that you were starting a new job a while ago? If so, how is it going? And if I’ve made that up, apologies!!

I have managed to stay the same this weekend, which I will take as I normally come home from my dad’s at least a pound heavier. Should have quite a busy week at work so hoping that distracts me from food. I’m working from home today and sainos are bringing me a shop soon.

I know they are high in sugar but I’ve ordered lots of fruit and some yogurt as I’m really fancying smoothies so I’m going to try and have one for brekky on Work from Home days.

I’ve also ordered a load of veg to make a soup with, though DH is already muttering that soup isn’t a real dinner, it’s lunch, so I can see it’s not going to go down very well!

lampert · 17/01/2018 17:11

Well I was dreadful yesterday. I just ate everything. Was far too scared to stand on the scales this morning.

Today hasn’t been great.

I made a watermelon and banana smoothie for breakfast, had a ham and cheese panini, hula hoops and a belvita bar for lunch, and another small size banana. Oops.

Tonight is pasta & courtetti with homemade sauce.

How are you ladies doing?

CamdenTownie · 17/01/2018 18:00

Hi @lampert - I've been doing ok until today, although it hasn't been a disaster, I'm 100 cals over because I impulsively ate some potatoes this afternoon and then immediately regretted it. I've just had sweet chilli chicken with salad for dinner.

Tomorrow will be a better day, oats for breakfast, soup for lunch and no carbs for dinner!

I'm so glad we are over halfway through the week- I'm looking forward to the weekend!

lampert · 19/01/2018 07:16

@CamdenTownie I think you can be forgiven 100 cals - I’m sure as a one off they won’t make any difference.

I had a good day yesterday. No idea how many cals, but banana and mango smoothie for brekky homemade soup with a small bit of bread and blueberries for lunch, then grilled chicken and salad with a bit of rice for dinner. Too much food but I’m struggling to cut down at the moment!

I’m on a hen do this weekend with a three course lunch tomorrow and no doubt endless crappy food the rest of the time....
