How did this happen. I am so, so ashamed of myself. I used to weigh in 13 stone, then overhauled my whole diet and got down to 9stone 8lb.

But I've put it all back on. And so much more. This is shameful and I cannot believe I have let it get this bad. I've even had to buy some size 20 tops. I have tried slimming world but that didn't really
Work for me. So I'm back to calorie counting. And 5:2. From today. I've got to stop making excuses. I am going on an amazing holiday in January with my 2 best friends and. CAN'T be the size I am now.

I am sick of feeling tired, uncomfortable and just plain shit because of what I eat. I've taken before photos (won't post them as they would scar you forever) and have stuck a photo of myself at my smallest when I still thought I looked fat on the fridge for inspiration. I can do this!!!

It was really lovely but I was sooooo full afterwards. She did a middle eastern meal which was lovely, followed by apple tarte tatin. Yummy!

Today I’ve had fruit and yogurt, two small bits of toast with marmalade, an apple, and I’m now munching some crisps, which I shouldn’t be. Tonight is going to be homemade (and potato free) moussaka, which might in fact be tomorrow night’s dinner as DH is trying to convince me to get a takeaway tonight. Now that I’m not feeling so sick I’m trying to make better choices but he might win this one - we’ll see!

TellysAndWellys · 19/11/2017 17:29

That sounds absolutely yummy! I didn't have time to go to shopping today and there is nothing in to eat so I need to grab something. But I just don't fancy a thing.

Mmmm what takeaway are you thinking of having? Not asking so I can copy, honest Wink

OP posts:
lampert · 20/11/2017 10:17

I persuaded DH to stick to the homemade moussaka last night so we avoided the takeaway. What did you go for?

I have accidentally scoffed a bacon sarnie this morning though at work - oooooops!!

Tonight is meant to be a home made chicken burger too so it’s not going too well today. Will try and stick to a small portion in the hope it limits the damage.

TellysAndWellys · 20/11/2017 18:11

I ended up having home made chips (a big portion) with veggie sausages and beans. So nothing healthy at all.

I've had nothing to eat today, determined to still to one meal. Got a jacket potato to have for tea and have come home and scoffed a 200 calorie bag of crisps :( absolute greed. But I'm hoping with the jacket potato and beans, (going say about 550 calories for that) I'm still way under.

OP posts:
lampert · 21/11/2017 15:36

I am eating better food but just way too much! Am enjoying not feeling sick too much! However at least the food I am eating is healthier than previously.

I’m having dinner with my mum tonight and she’s doing us fish and veg so that will be a good end for the day (Can’t day the same about my brekky and lunch!)

TellysAndWellys · 21/11/2017 20:04

Glad the sickness is getting better! Your tea sounds nice and healthy.

I've eaten shit all day. Had nothing all day at work then came home to find some chocolates a neighbour had dropped off. So I ate them (400 calories 😭) then I had tea which was 450. I just can't do this :( I do so well all day. Then I just can't resist in the evening.

100000% sticking to 500 calories a day for the next 3 days. Soup for tea tomorrow, then veggie burgers Thursday night.

OP posts:
lampert · 21/11/2017 22:03

I’m gonna try and stick to fruit and yog for brekky, soup for lunch and leftover mousaka for dinner. Fingers crossed!!!! I have a full day of meetings tomorrow so I’m hopeful I’ll be too busy to think about food!

ShesAStar · 21/11/2017 22:40

Hi, I’ve just been reading this thread and I think your doing really well to keep going because it is so hard. I lost a few stone and managed to keep it off by eating healthily during the week and eating whatever I wanted on the weekend. I don’t have crisps in the house, they are so bad for the DC and me, we don’t miss them, we can have them on the weekend if we really want. I roast a chicken, peel the skin off and take the meat off the bone (glamorous I know!) and I snack on the meat, I snack on ham too. I have a huge bowl of fruit and eat about three bits a day. But I love food and allowing myself what I want on the weekend really works for me. Today I’m fantasising about the Haagen Das chocolate salted caramel ice cream I’m going to eat!

TellysAndWellys · 22/11/2017 06:56

Have you given any more thought to slimming world Iampert? I'd hang on until you see an offer for a free membership in a magazine, they have them every few weeks and you save a tenner!!

Thanks star . That's my plan, eat healthy during the week and relax on weekends but I'm not doing well at the eating healthy during the week and relaxing a bit too much on a weekend 🙈 Just got to keep going though, I haven't put anything on and I'm over a stone lighter then when I started this thread so just need to cling onto that!

Soup for tea tonight with 2 small slices of wholemeal bread. I've got plans for every weekend between now and xmas and they will all include eating and drinking too much. So need to keep it as strict as possible during the week.

Happy Wednesday, we're almost halfway there!!

I have thought about it a bit @TellysAndWellys but I am a bit worried with all the eating out etc in the run up to Christmas it might be a waste of money and I might be Better odd just trying to eat well

I had a little nausea setback this morning and had to eat a bit of toast on my way to the station but I think that’s just because I have had less than 3 hours sleep.

Will have to be extra saintly at lunchtime. I’ve got an apple but that’s my only snack so gonna try and stick to it.

TellysAndWellys · 22/11/2017 12:42

Yeah that's true, maybe have a look after xmas?

Oh yeah lack of sleep will make you feel sick as well and I'm sure a bit of toast isn't going to make you put on any weight

I've just had lunch. Didn't bring anything in but I've just nipped out and got a banana, a high protein yoghurt and a bag of snack a jacks so total calories is 304.

Tea is soup and a slice of brown bred so should finish the day under 500 calories.

TellysAndWellys · 22/11/2017 18:22

Finishing the day on 1300 😭 Just can't help myself when I get home from work. We will see what tomorrow brings

Just got home from pizza express. I did skip the dough balls well I had 2 instead of a whole plate so that's not too bad is it? Aghhhhh

Hope you're ok Iampert and everyone else

Hi I am 5 foot 3 and 12.6. I should be around 9 stone. I was 11 9 about nine years ago and lost two stone . I felt so much better, but have put it all back on and then some. I did it by cutting right down on carbs and lost the weight easily. I just cannot get beyond one week of a diet. I lose a bit and then feel so ill and tired I fall off the wagon.. and that's it. It's so frustrating. I have been using my fitness pal. I don't think I could do the 5:2, I just couldn't eat so little two days a week. I actually don't snack, don't eat rubbish... I cannot understand why I am so overweight. I am on thyroxine, but then I was on it last time I lost weight. I am just so, so sick of being FAT. I would virtually sell my soul to lose this weight.
I find losing weight is a mental thing, and I can't get in the zone...
I need some inspiration and motivation. I suppose I'm looking for some magic solution, some other way to do this that won't leave me feeling ill and exhausted.

lampert · 23/11/2017 20:32

Sorry for disappearing telly! We went out for dim sum last night.

Today I’ve eaten coco pops, pasta, mousaka and peas😬.

2 dough balls is fed allowed! Well done.

Welcome @Acrosstheuniverse123!! You are very welcome to join us.

TellysAndWellys · 23/11/2017 20:42

Ha that's quite the varied menu Iampert.

I had the 2 dough balls PLUS a pizza. It had tomatoes on though so that's got to count for something right? RIGHT?

Welcome Universe. You're so right in that it's a mental thing. I wish there was a magic solution as well :( Are you getting enough vitamins? I actually find that fasting throughout the day makes me feel better so maybe you could try a couple of days but obviously stop straight away if you start feeling ill?

OP posts:
lampert · 24/11/2017 09:03

It wasn’t good was it @TellysAndWellys!

I hope you enjoyed your pizza. I could fancy a pizza tonight, love pizza express ones cause they are so thin and I don’t feel too guilty afterwards.

I’m working from home today. Was meant to get up at 7 but fell asleep again after DH went to work so now I feel lazy and lethargic and struggling to get into my work. Ok actually tempted to go and work st my mum’s house so I don’t eat too much - she is teeny and ears about 3 lettuce leaves a day. She keeps telling me she’s very concerned about what’s going to happen to my weight whilst pregnant so I won’t get away with anything naughty if I’m there!

We are out for dinner tomorrow night and lunch on Sunday so I need to be good today.

TellysAndWellys · 24/11/2017 12:23

I love pizza express too! Shouldn't have had it though :(

Just on my lunch at work and I'm trying to resist the vending machines. I'm finishing early to go have a look around the shops but already I'm thinking maybe I could call in McDonald's... but I won't.

I find it so hard to resist at home. Maybe go and visit your mum for a hour and hopefully give you some inspiration. Although even the weight you put on in preganancy will come back off so treat yourself to 4 lettuce leaves!

Same here. I'm going Manchester for the weekend tomorrow morning then next week I've got my Christmas party Friday then away again Saturday morning. So I need to try really hard during the week

lampert · 24/11/2017 13:45

Sounds like you have fun weekends lined up @TellysAndWellys!

I had coco pops for breakfast (great start - bought them jn a moment of weakness several weeks ago and now I’ve got an entire box to eat...!’) and minestrone soup with a small bit of focaccia for lunch.

Will have a satsuma mid afternoon and then tonight I’ve made a last min decision that DH and I are taking my mum for dinner at a local pub. Will try to choose something not too bad (am eyeing up the salmon on the menu!) but at least I’m not drinking any calories in the form of wine!!

TellysAndWellys · 25/11/2017 13:11

How was your night out with your mum and DH?

Weighed my self this morning and I lost a grand total of...... 0.5lbs. BUT off is off. Going to enjoy my weekend away now and start again Monday. Bring on the Baileys Hot Chocolate!!

OP posts:
lampert · 25/11/2017 15:25

Half a pound is half a pound, well done @TellysAndWellys!

My night was good thanks, though I ordered pie and mash which was clearly not a great choice but I was very controlled in the amount I ate. I’ve had a hot choc and a scone with cream and jam today - been craving it all week! Out for dinner tonight for Japanese food!

Have a fab weekend - jealous of the baileys!!

lampert · 26/11/2017 20:32

Hope you’ve had a good weekend @TellysAndWellys?

I managed to stay the same again when I jumped on the scales, but today I’ve had cereal, roast chicken & trimmings, half a portion of sticky toffee pudding and an apple! So tomorrow may not be so good...!

TellysAndWellys · 26/11/2017 22:23

Evening @Iampert! I have just this second Climbed into bed. I've had a lovely weekend thank you!! Didn't stop eating a drinking and just had another sandwich before bed for no reason other than greediness! But it's been really good, i just can't believe it's Monday tomorrow.

Well done! You're doing so well. How have you been feeling?

Today I have had:
Breakfast- beans on toast and some fruit and yogurt.
Dinner- huge pub Sunday dinner with way too many potatoes on.
Tea- bag of chips from the chip shop
Second tea- sandwich and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps. Just completely shameful.

I won't type what I ate yesterday as I'd be here all day. But I've enjoyed it. I'm going to be so, so strict this week. I am off out for a curry/booze up Friday so I'm a little worried about how that will effect the scales but as long as I'm really strict this week it hopefully won't be too bad!

OP posts:
lampert · 27/11/2017 07:24

Sounds like a fun weekend @TellysAndWellys!

I’m feeling really pleased today as I have lost a pound so I’m back at the weight I was when I got pregnant. Still a stone heavier than I’d like to be but nevermind!

I’m starting to find my jeans uncomfortable even though I have absolutely no hint of a bump! Thats slightly depressing really! I don’t even feel pregnant now! I wonder if I am try and lose another pound or two if I do it realllllly slowly, eg aim for half a pound a week? I think it might be wishful thinking but I’ll try!

TellysAndWellys · 27/11/2017 14:19

It was, loved it!! Just had a bag of crisps on my 'lunch'. 180 wasted calories. Not bringing any cash tomorrow.

Jacket potato and beans for tea tonight, soup tomorrow. NEED to stick strictly to this.

That sounds like a plan. You'll be using up extra calories anyway with all that baby growing you're doing, so if 1200 calories is what you'd need to eat to lose 2 lbs a week + the extra 500ish calories recommended in pregnant=1700, maybe aim for 1400-1500 a day? My maths is crap so probably wrote that wrong but you know what I mean.

Work is dragging today. The weekends fly.
