Anyone just starting? I don't think I can do it alone!

Hi, I'm a fatty and can't stand the self conscious feeling anymore. I tried sw but it's not working for me so I've downloaded mfp.

I've got about 3 stone to lose and would love a chunk off by October. Though I know it will take longer to hit target...anyone else just starting? Or just need a bit of company along the way?

Step away from the scales! Try to pay more attention to how your clothes fit than what the scales say!

I've just had breakfast for first time in years(that isn't a hung over fry up) cinnamon porridge with raisins coffee and a bottle of water...I'm absolutely stuffed so feeling positive no binges will happen.

ok, finally filled it in. Better late than never I suppose.

Start weight: 97.0kg Shock
Daily goal: 1500 kcal
Today's total: 1607 kcal

Weight is insane. I now weigh more than I did when pregnant. Sad I'm pleased with today's eating. I don't mind being a bit over. No mindless eating today. I eat out of habit rather for hunger. Will try and check in tomorrow.

FluffedIt · 12/05/2017 13:35

Well done @NightWanderer you sound like you are in control now

@A1Sharon well done on the loss!

Bfast was clearly a good idea as by time lunchtime can I didn't need to eat the whole cupboard to fill up, feeling positive Grin

Not a great first week for me, didn't really meal plan and paid the price. That's a job for this weekend, I find it much easier when my menu is all sorted, then it just comes to willpower.

FluffedIt · 12/05/2017 14:58

At least you know where you are going wrong and it's easily fixable!

I find it easier to put into mfp in a morning and then I know what I am doing that day. Think it mentally tells me you can't have that it's not in the plan!!

I lost 3lb week in total so am chuffed.

A1Sharon · 12/05/2017 16:06

Wow! Well done gttia.
I agree, I need to know in advance what I'm eating and it has to be something I actually enjoy eating, otherwise I'm just straight off for something that'll blow my intake in 5 mins!

FluffedIt · 12/05/2017 17:26

That's a good idea I think I may steal it too!!

Fell off the wagon and had a chocolate macaroon and a slice of birthday cake. DS is poorly and isn't sleeping well so I've been running on empty at work today. I managed to avoid all temptation at work but the cake at home was too much.

DragonNoodleCake · 12/05/2017 18:20

I agree - this is easier this time because I'm preplanning all meals. When I'm hungry and I've not planned I grab whatever - that's not good

FluffedIt · 12/05/2017 18:45

Pasty, who's birthday is it?! Happy birthday!!

I'm going to do a meal plan and list ready for the food shop for tomo, will do a week of sticking to meal plan and logging in the morning. Also planning on hitting my step goal everyday with the Fitbit.

Yay I'm finally motivated again!

It was my DS 3rd. We ended up with 2 cakes cos the inlaws were seeing him in the morning and wanted to do cake tooConfused

A1Sharon · 12/05/2017 23:10

Don't feel bad about chucking it in the bin/food recycling tomorrow though, don't make yourself the dustbin!

A1Sharon · 12/05/2017 23:11

Just saying that because if it was in the fridge it would be calling me all day...

PastysPrincess · 12/05/2017 23:29

I think I will chuck it tomorrow and just make out it would be off by now. DH can be funny about these things cos he sees it as depriving DS Confused

gttia · 12/05/2017 23:39

I wouldn't feel bad about having a piece of cake, it's only a piece. I'd have eaten the whole cake before now!!

The hen do was good. Left most of my starter, ate all my main course and only half my pudding. I'm motivated to losing weight!

Hope everyone has a great weekend xx

A1Sharon · 13/05/2017 09:44

Does anyone want to put down what they're eating today? Would love some inspiration!
I'm having
Breakfast-2 egg omelette with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes
Lunch-Homemade lentil and Jake soup with a Paul Hollywood crusty roll and butter
Dinner-75g spaghetti with home made tomato sauce and Parmesan.
That's over 900 calories so I have over 300 left still.

Hoping to fit in a bike ride or a walk to get a few more calories so I can have a drink tonight!

A1Sharon · 13/05/2017 09:44

That should be kale not Jake Grin!

gttia · 13/05/2017 10:09

Saturday is my day off so I'll be having
Sausage sandwich
Soup
Thai chicken and rice
Some wine.

The chicken is like a dry one though not a creamy sauce so may still be just over xx

I'm vegetarian so tend to eat too many carbs and not enough protein but I'm ok with that. I would usually go for All bran cereal with dried fruit and a chopped banana for snacktime.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day here so will probably be a bit naughty.

Nightwanderer could you share your lentil curry recipe please? I eat mostly vegetarian too.

FluffedIt · 13/05/2017 12:38

Feeling guilty I don't have as much fruit and veg! Blush

oh well I'm working on staying under calories this week and will play around once I've got a handle on it, can't do everything at once or struggle

OP posts:
NightWanderer · 13/05/2017 16:32

My general diet is good but I would usually eat an extra 3 slices of toast and an entire bag of fun sized kit kats or 3 donuts or something. Blush I usually average about 3,000 kcal a day. Just mindless grazing really. No need for it.

The curry is my own invented recipe, so it's probably a bit weird and crap but I like it. I just finely chop an onion and fry it in oil with 2 teaspoons curry powder. Then add veg such as potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, peas and add a cup of lentils, cover with water, add 2 veg stock cubes, then simmer for 15 min. It's really easy and you can freeze it into portions for quick lunches.
