Anyone just starting? I don't think I can do it alone!

Hi, I'm a fatty and can't stand the self conscious feeling anymore. I tried sw but it's not working for me so I've downloaded mfp.

I've got about 3 stone to lose and would love a chunk off by October. Though I know it will take longer to hit target...anyone else just starting? Or just need a bit of company along the way?

Not long got back from our walk but DH didn't go cos ge was too tired...Confused

Dottydoodoo · 13/08/2017 17:09

PastysPrincess and FluffedIt I totally hear you. Men eh! I've had a cats bum face all day today. DH spent all day yesterday doing his hobby after complaining that I didn't wake him up, then came home, showered, and announced he was going out for a drink with his friend. Then this morning he has had a lie in while I got up with DS and basically lounged around all day while I try and get all the jobs done plus look after a whirlwind one year old. Grrrrrrrr! I feel like I am running some kind of hotel!

This week has been a naughty week food wise, im back on track today but lots of cake has been consumed over the weekend. If I stay the same weight tomorrow I will be very very pleased!!

Dottydoodoo · 13/08/2017 17:10

Phew, that feels so much better to have a rant! I know it's pants but it's nice to know I'm not the only one 😩

Ollivander84 · 13/08/2017 18:36

Down to 15st 1, total loss 1st 9lbs
I'm still using MFP but also doing some fasting

FluffedIt · 14/08/2017 09:01

Somehow lost another lb (though just realised it's all prob just water weight from the shakes)

Don't care how though I'm still feeling pleased 😁

Good luck all the weigh ins today!

PastysPrincess · 14/08/2017 09:08

I've gained 1.4lbs which is not as much as I thought it would be. I'm back on track today as I only have 5 weeks till a works function I've been looking forward too. Besides which I've chucked out all my size 20 trousers so I cant put too much weight back on else I'll have nothing to wear at all.

FluffedIt · 14/08/2017 10:33

That's a pretty good way of ensuring you don't go up! 😂😂

I've got just under 8 weeks til mine, though dd turns 1 in 4 weeks so would be nice to be a bit slimmer for photos etc. How much is doable in 4 and 8 weeks?!

OP posts:
PastysPrincess · 14/08/2017 11:53

Maximum to aim for would be 2lb a week so 16lb in 8 weeks but that would be hard going. Maximum I've lost in a week is 6 lbs but I wasn't trying to lose that much and a lot of that could be fluid from around my joints etc.

FluffedIt · 14/08/2017 12:00

Interesting... I think I may have to challenge myself to go for it 2 lb a week

OP posts:
FluffedIt · 14/08/2017 12:01

Posted before I finished! It should be doable if I behave myself!

PastysPrincess · 14/08/2017 13:23

If you could add a little bit of exercise that would help enormously. Even a short walk would help.

FluffedIt · 14/08/2017 13:41

I've got a Fitbit that I shall have to up my goal for I reckon!

Dottydoodoo · 14/08/2017 15:21

Amazingly I've lost half a Ib! I'm pleased but very surprised considering all the cake I have eaten this week!

PastysPrincess that's drastic, but a good way to do it!

FluffedIt yy to upping the exercise. I do Zumba once a week and it seems to help loads. It keeps me motivated too as it's such hard work while I'm there I don't want to eat bad things and undo all my hard work!

PastysPrincess · 14/08/2017 17:40

The trousers were getting tatty anyway but I thought I'm gonna be upset with myself if I have to start wearing them again so I binned them once I could fit in my size 18's

I recommend getting a trampoline too. My son had me straight out onto it when I got home.

Heartofglass12345 · 14/08/2017 20:12

I started mfp after deciding to leave slimming world after basically maintaining since march this year. I lost 4 stone on sw and need to lose another 3. Please feel free to add me on mfp as i have no friends 😂 my name is hayley4007. Good luck everyone!

Ollivander84 · 14/08/2017 20:19

I'm brighthair on MFP Smile

PastysPrincess · 16/08/2017 18:01

I've started doing this today. It's hard!!!
blog.myfitnesspal.com/14-day-plank-plan/

FluffedIt · 16/08/2017 21:04

I don't even need to click that I can't do a 2 second plank!

OP posts:
PastysPrincess · 16/08/2017 21:48

I could barely do it. I was shaking all over the place. I don't think I will follow it exactly as it advances very quickly.

Start with a two second plank and add two more seconds. Just keep going bit by bit.

FluffedIt · 18/08/2017 00:29

Do pelvic floor exercises count?! 😂😂

Think I need to up my daily steps but calorie wise I'm doing well, how is everyone's week going?

PastysPrincess · 18/08/2017 10:26

I've switched to weighing on Friday to match my DH. We've both lost 2 lbs so I'm only 1 lb away from hitting the three stone target again lol.

Dottydoodoo · 20/08/2017 07:19

Well done! That 1ib will come off easy peasy. I've tried doing the plank before, it didn't end well lol!

I was doing well this week up until yesterday Sad DH announced he was fed up of toddler DS's wingeing (but he wasn't wingeing on the scale of wingeing) so swanned off to do his hobby for the afternoon. So, seeing as I seem to use food as an emotional comforting crutch I may have had a bit of a binge. I gave up logging it on mfp in the end as it was just getting ridiculous.

Hey ho! Today is a new day Grin

I'm not going to weigh myself tomorrow, I usually do it at work at the same time on the same scales but I'm not there tomorrow. I've got scales at home but I would rather do it on the same ones each time.

(I bet I will weigh myself tomorrow and then get all sad in light of yesterday's binge!)

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 20/08/2017 15:35

Can I join you please? I'm LapsedTwentySomething on MFP. I have 5st to lose to get well into my healthy weight range but I don't want to do it at any particular rate or for a specific event. The reason for that is that targets seem to set me up to fail. I want to improve my diet and lifestyle forever so I'm happy to do it slowly.

I turned 40 this year. Quite glad to have that out of the way as I felt a sense of failure each time I didn't meet my target, hence my current approach. After DC2 I didn't lose all the weight and then during family illness and the subsequent bereavement I ate and boozed too much. My work life is a bit of a lame duck at the moment so my body is something I want to have a bit more control over. When I've got that moving in the right direction I'll start to sort out my career.

Right, off to the gym before it shuts.

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 20/08/2017 15:38

Hi all. I'm joining you. I have 2 stone to lose. I have started using my fitness pal. It's interesting to see how easily the calories add up. I'm hungry at the moment, but hopefully I'll get used to it.

Dottydoodoo · 21/08/2017 08:04

Hello Jenniferyellowhat and farontothemaddingcrowd!

I did weigh myself this morning, I knew I would! According to the scales I have lost 4ib this week. As much as I would be made up with that I don't think it's correct 😩. I've been rubbish all weekend so I'm going to delete today's weigh in, be really good this week and weigh myself at work next Monday.

Does anyone have any tips for staying motivated? I've been awful over the weekend, bingeing on huge packets of crisps and chocolate and eating whatever I like for dinner. I think I've got a bit bored with eating the same things all the time but I want to lose the weight, it's so frustrating!
