Anyone just starting? I don't think I can do it alone!

Hi, I'm a fatty and can't stand the self conscious feeling anymore. I tried sw but it's not working for me so I've downloaded mfp.

I've got about 3 stone to lose and would love a chunk off by October. Though I know it will take longer to hit target...anyone else just starting? Or just need a bit of company along the way?

So I think I've figured out my downfall. I was CC during the week but having weekends off. I've just had an impromptu night out and logged my calories on MFP - over 1000cals on alcohol - a couple of wines and cider. So easy to see that I could be drinking my calorie deficit at the weekend - def need to be stricter!

Dottydoodoo · 20/07/2017 08:20

So, the chocolate buttons are all gone and today is a new day Blush

Veterinari it's so easy for it all to mount up without realising isn't it. I hope you had a good night out, it's just got to be done sometimes!

Veterinari · 20/07/2017 18:53

Hmmm. I also got home and scoffed loads of oatcakes and cheese so well over my calorie limit today Sad

At least I know how bad it actually is now - suspect I will have to be strict!

Dottydoodoo · 23/07/2017 17:52

omg it's weigh day tomorrow and I had an enormous ice cream sundae earlier on. It was too tempting not to! Keeping everything crossed for tomorrow, tbh I will be pleased just to stay the same!

Veterinari · 23/07/2017 18:02

Me too Dotty I did an obstacle course race today - it was pretty tough so a good day for me but still making up for my wine and cheese in the week

PastysPrincess · 23/07/2017 18:05

Yep my weigh in tomorrow too and I've got a takeaway on its way. Eek. Although fitness pal tells me I have enough calories but I'm never sure you can be accurate on takeaway meals.

Veterinari · 23/07/2017 18:06

Oh and please ignore my 'calories burned alerts on 'mfp' - it syncs with a couple of apps and logs everything 3 times!

PastysPrincess · 23/07/2017 18:14

I thought you were just really into it lolGrin

FluffedIt · 23/07/2017 19:28

Is everyone drinking enough water? Ive been thinking for ages today I'm hungry but I'm not I'm actually just thirsty, could have saved myself so many calories over the days if I realised that before!

veterinari I did wonder 😂

My weigh-in was yesterday and was dreading it as I had been away with work with constant food on offer 🙄. Thrilled I managed to stay the same, now for being strong this week!

PastysPrincess · 24/07/2017 06:28

My flipping hormones have a lot to answer for. I've lost 5.2 lbs this week but again the big weight loss is the week after aunty flo. Does anyone else get this.

On the bright side I'm under 16 stone (just) which for me is the tipping point from regular fat to super fat (as in, I can now sit on the swings with my son without it pinching my thighs)

PastysPrincess · 24/07/2017 06:28

How did everyone else do?

Dottydoodoo · 24/07/2017 15:17

Well done PastysPrincess that's amazing! I take Cerazette so I don't get the pleasure of AF, but I know my hormones had a lot to answer for in regards to weight when I wasn't on it.

I've lost 2 Ibs this week, yay! I thought the ice cream sundae would have done more damage!

PastysPrincess · 24/07/2017 15:28

I had a large loss last month after aunty flo too. I think it's my hormones disguising small losses of weight with fluid retention; then when aunty flo finally pisses off I have a massive drop.

I'm on the Nexplanon implant and it was fine till I stopped breastfeeding and now it messes me about a lot. I'm that terrified of getting pregnant though I'd rather put up with it than try something else and risk getting pregnant. Statistically it has a lower failure rate than sterilisation.

FluffedIt · 24/07/2017 16:47

I had the coil fitted a few weeks ago and time has yet to tell if it's a good or bad thing for me!

Forgot to weigh myself this morning so will do first thing Tomo, don't feel like they will budge though!

What calories is everyone on?

Mfp is so stingy - my tdee minus 500 deficit is 1976, surely that's too much??!!

PastysPrincess · 24/07/2017 18:01

I'm on 1800 calories a day. It's worked out by your weight so it depends on each individual. I find 1800 hard going but then I'm never ever full.

Dottydoodoo · 24/07/2017 21:16

I'm on 1470 a day. I must admit it is tough, if I work out all my food to military precision and stay strict it's fine but I struggle if we eat out as there is just no leeway at all.

Still, it seems to be working!

sweetbitter · 24/07/2017 21:50

I think MFP is stingy when it tells you how many to eat, I just ignore it and do my own calculation from a TDEE calculator. I guess the flip side is that I think it really overestimates calorie burn for all it's standard exercises.

I'm on 1500 per day, but tend to eat 1300 Mon-Thurs and more like 1700-2000 Fri-Sun. I don't count exercise calories as "extra" cals to eat back at all.

sweetbitter · 24/07/2017 21:51

its. Not it's. I swear my phone's stupid autocorrect did that.

Dottydoodoo · 26/07/2017 21:36

I've just had a chocolate binge, ironically on the fun size twix bars that I bought to have as a treat in the evening. I've certainly had my treat today, I've put away four Blush. Grrrrrr! I've been so good this week too. I've just brushed my teeth so that I don't eat any more.

I went to Zumba last night and worked super hard so I'm hoping the calories I burned will cancel out the twix's!!

PastysPrincess · 27/07/2017 06:54

I had a KFC cos it was easier than sorting our own dinner out. I regret it now as I didn't realise it would be so many calories; 1400!

Bazzinga · 28/07/2017 08:55

Hi. I've added a few of you on MFP. User name E. 8lb of 81lb off in 40 days.
Naughty NannyPlum I saw your status update last night. Take it one day at a time, 1lb at a time. Even if it takes that 1lb a couple of weeks to come off. Have a look at the MFP community board success stories too, they motivate me when I feel like caving.

Dottydoodoo · 29/07/2017 12:56

PastysPrincess we have just had kfc for lunch 😳! It was so yummy and I'm stuffed but I feel really guilty now. I only had a twister wrap which was 485 calories, but I did pinch a few of DS's chips and popcorn chicken.

I was determined to be good today and tomorrow as its weigh day on Monday, I've got the feeling it's going to be a disaster. Definitely soup for dinner tonight!
