Anyone just starting? I don't think I can do it alone!

Hi, I'm a fatty and can't stand the self conscious feeling anymore. I tried sw but it's not working for me so I've downloaded mfp.

I've got about 3 stone to lose and would love a chunk off by October. Though I know it will take longer to hit target...anyone else just starting? Or just need a bit of company along the way?

Has anyone else read this on MFP:
blog.myfitnesspal.com/southerner-fought-off-fried-food-250-pounds/?bb=disable

“My doctor told me one time, for every pound you lose, it’s 10 pounds of pressure off your knees,”

Wow!

FluffedIt · 30/06/2017 23:04

Blimey, that's some determination!

I'm feeling proud of myself for being under cals 5 days in a row! Grin

It's the weekend! Hope you are all being well behaved on the food front!

OP posts:
PastysPrincess · 01/07/2017 09:54

I had a massive blowout yesterday (hello emotional eating) but since I'd got a large calorie deficit I should be ok. I should be ok over the weekend as I'm doing lots of walking.

FluffedIt · 02/07/2017 11:10

Uh oh! Well least it doesn't sound like too much damage was done! What did you end up having?

OP posts:
PastysPrincess · 02/07/2017 11:15

I had a beef burrito but it's not actually a burrito. It's slices of roast beef wrapped up in gravey and a giant Yorkshire pudding served with chips and horseradish. Then I had a massive slice of mars attacks chocolate cake.

It's weigh in day tomorrow so we will see how much damage is done

PastysPrincess · 03/07/2017 06:52

1.4lbs off today. Smile

How did everyone else do?

sweetbitter · 03/07/2017 06:56

Weekend was a total write off, was away with friends and I knew it would be impossible to try to hold back or log stuff so I just didn't bother. Full English each morning, constant snacking, a lot of drinking...it was about as bad as can be! But it was semi accounted for in that I had a very good week last week beforehand and had 1000 calories "spare". Still, not going to be weighing myself for a few days!

Good work Patsy despite the amazing sounding Yorkshire pudding burrito concoction!

FluffedIt · 03/07/2017 07:36

Great first week back on it and hit my 2lb goal..actually got 5lb off!!

I did have a dominos (not lots) last night but also has done 21k steps and was under up to that point so hope it won't see it in the scales in the next day or 2! Lol

Good luck for everyone that weighs today. That sounds like you had a fab weekend @sweetbitter life is too short to be miserable for missing out!

The 'burrito' sounds very yummy!!

PastysPrincess · 03/07/2017 11:08

I added up my calories for last week so although I was 970 calories over on Friday I was actually still under my target for the week by 751 calories. Bit annoyed that I could have lost more if I hadn't had my blowout but then I feel satisfied now and can carry on the diet without feeling like I've missed out.

I do need to be careful with emotional eating though cos I've had a bit of bad news about my son which is not easily sorted. If I give into it I will derail my diet entirely.

Well done for the 5lb loss @Fluffedit.

@Sweetbitter every day can be a new start so you've got a new beginning this week.

PastysPrincess · 10/07/2017 10:49

How is everyone doing?

I've lost another pound this week but feel like I'm having to work extremely hard to do it.

FluffedIt · 10/07/2017 21:10

I had a gain this week, but it's lady time so I'll wait till next week and hope it buggers off!

Well done on your loss though!

I tend to bloat around that time too.

Dottydoodoo · 11/07/2017 07:02

Hello! Please can I join you?

I have a 15 month old DS and I have not lost any baby weight whatsoever, in fact I think I weigh more now than I did just after he was born!

I have had success in the past with mfp, but I could do with some support/motivation. It was going really well and then yesterday I bought some Percy pig raspberry icing biscuit things "for DS" and ended up demolishing the entire packet Blush. I don't even know why I bought them, I know what I'm like! Anyway, today is a new day.

Reading the thread it sounds like everyone is doing really well, so hopefully I can too. I need to do something as I feel very whale like at the moment Sad

PastysPrincess · 11/07/2017 21:10

I do that, apparently it's called mindless eating if you want to google it.

Dottydoodoo · 11/07/2017 21:39

Ooh thank you pastys I'll have a google, it might explain some things. It's almost as if I hit the self destruct button!

I've just got back from a zumba class, I think I'm going to ache tomorrow but it was really good fun! I used to do zumba two or three times a week pre DS and loved it so I'm pleased to be able to get back into doing some exercise that I enjoy. Will definitely be going back next week.

Had a good day today, with the exercise I actually have 1020 calories left for the dayShock I won't be eating them though, not after yesterday's Percy pig incident!!

PastysPrincess · 11/07/2017 22:07

Ive had a bad day today food wise as my son got up really early and I couldn't cope with the tiredness. Oh well tomorrow is a new day.

FluffedIt · 13/07/2017 06:22

That's my problem half the time too!

OP posts:
FluffedIt · 13/07/2017 08:44

How is everyone doing? Welcome everyone new!

There is just over 12 weeks until my target date so I now realise I have NO more room for cock ups or days off if I'm actually going to get anywhere near goal weight.

How do you stay motivated? I need some ideas, has anyone got any hints or tips they would like to share?

All I can think is up my water ..

OP posts:
sweetbitter · 13/07/2017 10:28

I risked going way off track yesterday as was feeling a bit crap and the idea of a bottle of wine and a giant sized chocolate bar consumed on the sofa under a duvet with a romcom on was very appealing. But managed somehow to resist and have a bath and diet coke instead...how's that for willpower?! Mostly because it's only 2.5 weeks until my holidays so like Fluffed said, I can't kid myself that it's OK to "have a night off" especially on a Wednesday!

Fluffed: yes to more water, and otherwise I think I just trick myself a lot: I say I'll be really good in the week so can eat more at the weekend, but then usually my Friday weigh in will be quite low so it's an incentive to actually not go too mad at the weekend but keep things reigned in a bit...so I can maybe see that figure on the scales again on Monday!

The only thing is that we have visitors staying this weekend and next, it's always harder to keep things under control myself with guests who I want to feed and water well!

FluffedIt · 13/07/2017 10:38

That's will power to be proud of @sweetbitter ! I have a 70th party/BBQ day on sun which everyone will be trying to push wine and amazing food platters on me, but I'm staying strict or I'll have 1 or 2 and get a taste for it and think stuff it!! I also have a 60th the week after..how dare people invite me to parties when I'm dieting!

OP posts:
Dottydoodoo · 13/07/2017 21:49

sweetbitter well done with the willpower!

fluffed I hear you with the party invites! I'm meeting friends on Saturday and they have suggested going for tea and cake. It sounds so good, what am I going to do!!

I have no tips on how to stay motivated, I've not been doing it for long enough yet Blush! I find drinking lots of water definitely helps, I've also made a sugar free jelly which will hopefully set overnight, so that I can have something sweet and sort of puddingy for barely any calories (9 in a serving).

We ended up going out for thai this evening which was really nice. I've put it into mfp but I think it's probably very wrong. I was very good the rest of today though and I did day 1 of the 30 day shred which was agony so I'll have to let myself off!

FluffedIt · 14/07/2017 00:03

30 day shred is evil, it highlights just how unfit I am and I get knackered just doing the warm up! X
