I know there's a petition up for people to sign if they don't agree with the new Equality Bill being proposed, but if you'd like to do something more physical then watch this space!

We're hoping to do this on the 21st July, to coincide with the recess of Parliament for the summer break. We're also going to be organising regional events this time, as I know that a lot of people would have liked to be involved but couldn't get to London!

More news as I soon as I know what we're doing - but your support will be invaluable.

Thanks TBD, we will probably get the train as it is easier and cheaper.
Will hopefully see you on monday then!

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 13:57

Tada!

"I?ll try to pop along

Steve McCabe"

Dr Evan Harris, MP for oxfordshire west and abingdon cannot come to ours as he is in parliament on monday, he wants to know the contact details for whoever is arranging the parliament sq picnic as he might attend.
(He's all for the bfing thing and voted yes in the early motion of the breastfeeding etc act in 2005)
What email can I give him?

cmotdibbler · 15/07/2008 16:27

Tinkerbellesmum/ChairmumMiaow - I'll be coming along on Monday with DS

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 17:10

Brilliant, look forward to meeting you and any other MNers that come of course!

For anyone coming to the Birmingham picnic and on FaceBook, we have a group

solo · 15/07/2008 17:58

How will anyone be able to identify other MNetters though?

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 18:12

Maybe we should have some secret code like a badge or something?

I looked at our guest list and we have 5 confirmed (adults) but we have 12 group members.

solo · 15/07/2008 18:22

Perhaps a sticky label with big red MN letters on it?

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 18:29

Depends, some people don't want to be identified as an MN member, maybe just a plain colour, we could do something like draw a red dot on a sticker and say it's the official logo.

VictorianSqualor · 15/07/2008 18:37

draw something on your hand, like a blue cross or something, no-one is likely to mention it, if they do say it was some security thing.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2008 18:38

yellow smiley face badges/stickers....like this

we did this for the Yorkshire meet up last summer.

solo · 15/07/2008 18:40

But then no one would see it on your hand. I think it'd have to be on your clothing, fairly visible, maybe shoulder/above breast height? A big red dot sounds good.

Haylstones · 15/07/2008 19:37

I'm only concerned about MIL finding out what website I use and what my online name is- don't mind anyone from here working out who I am!

I'll be the one breastfeeding the huge 21 week old, a bouncy 4yo and a very lovely helpful MIL (seriously) Wil probably also have a huge amount of food, yum

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 19:44

Just read my post, that was what I meant Hayls. I was trying to say a big MN on your chest will elicit questions.

Haylstones · 15/07/2008 20:29

How about we all wear pink or something? Will we all have pushchairs? If MIL works out I 'know' you from a website I don't mind, just would rather she didn't know which one!
Obivously I will only be feeding the 21 week old, not all 3 of them - must preview my messages!

cmotdibbler · 15/07/2008 20:31

I'll have a bright pink "mummy milk rocks' tshirt, and a 2 year old who may be walking or in a black MeiTai

TinkerBellesMum · 15/07/2008 20:36

I'll try to wear one of my CLIC T-shirt. Either a black V neck with small writing or a white one with big pink writing across it.

I won't have a baby at the start as she will be at the CM, but Daddy is bringing her across before 2pm.

lol Hayls, I did wonder!

Haylstones · 15/07/2008 20:42

Ok, I will wear a pink and white top and/or pink cardigan and dd will no doubt be in a ridiculously OTT summer dress (sigh at all the lovely trousers and shorts she refuses to wear)

morgangee · 15/07/2008 23:56

I'll be wearing a large hat.

My wedding hat, actaully. The wedding was gold and black, and the hat is goldy type straw thing.

You could all wear white cotton gloves!!! Cheap at Boots, and easily spotted as 'secret code'. !

Agghhh! I tried the security guy at Durhum uni and actually spoke to him today - he has been off sick!
He says he'll get back to me today...

God I really hope he doesn't veto it.

I think I've made us sound as friendly and peaceful as possible...

VictorianSqualor · 16/07/2008 10:21

If you're ahppy to admit you know each other from a website, just not which one, why not wear stickers with hunkers blog address on them?
www.howbreastfedingworks.com?? It's relevant plus might get noticed by others..

Hathor (a cartoonist who does great bfing/AP cartoons) has been doing a series on the Single Equality Bill - here for anyone who wants a laugh !
