MummyPigandDaddyPig · 16/06/2012 01:59

( distributes tea biscuits and nursing pillows allround....)

How do yo stay awake at night feeding??? Am struGgling to stay awake and have a sore thumb from playing solitaire on the iphone...alternates with reading muMsnet, daily mail and facebook....

What else is easy reading websites, games apps that dont require any brainpower that I cana entertain myself with? Any tips how to stay awake? Am seriously tired here!

Have cosleept with my dc's from approx 8-10 weeks, which makes night feeds easier, but I have weeks to go until then and wont dare to bedshare yet as older dc's still turn up in qour bed at night....

Tooodlepip · 29/09/2012 04:27

Fed at 3 put him down at 3:45 up now 4:10 wind pain and more milk, fussing terrible cuz of wind Sad hope he settles soon

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 04:58

We have gone the other way! We were getting 8.30/9 til 2.30/3, then snit made subsequent intervals less until a couple of nights ago. Tonight it was 9-12 then 2hourly. Feel a bit frustrated we seem to have gone backwards. Trying to stay positive and enjoy the exclusive baby time....

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 05:07

And now the snot and coughing has started again Sad- poor baby M. She's just gone to sleep on my shoulder. She smells lovely though Grin

BabylonPI · 29/09/2012 10:27

Well DH took over last night so I could sleep. He stayed up all night with baby b so I could sleep and did a really good job of latching him on to me without waking me Grin

I feel a bit better this morning for getting some sleep, but DH now feels rubbish!!

Grrrr!!

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 11:07

Big respect to you DH, Babylon!
My DH had to leave early for work this morning, so the girls and I are still in out pj's having a lovely lazy morning. Missmarbles is in fine form, having had her first nap already. Really hoping that the quiet day will aid sleep tonight. It's not like she even fed that much overnight; think I will try settling without feeding, unless I really think she's hungry.
Happy Saturdays everyone :)

Susieloo · 29/09/2012 20:13

Evening allSmile how was everyone's saturday?

Babyloo has been asleep for most of the day so not sure we will get a repeat of our six hour stretch, my boobs woke me up an hour before he did last night because they were going to explode, I had to get up and was going to express but in the end just stood over the sink and let them get on with it! He is currently having his feed before bed but he seems to wake himself up after 45 minutes and need to comfort feed to go back to sleep, I have put him down awake tonight but I'm not hopeful he is going to like the idea much!!

Have a good night everyone Grin

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 20:46

I am feeding in low light too. I put her down at 7.45 just to say sleeping and I heard her wake up, gurgle and chat while I put DD1 to bed Grin Feeding now. I'm going to try a dram feed at about 11.30 if she doesn't wake and see if we can have a long stretch. Day time naps seem to have been well timed today.

Hope everyone has a good night. No doubt I will be on later trying to stay awakeSmile

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 20:48

Dream feed not 'dram' before anyone reports me for trying to give my baby whiskey to make her sleep Grin

Susieloo · 29/09/2012 21:02

I tried dream feeding (I'm sure my nan used to dram feed me by putting a little tot in my bottle to help me sleep-it was the 70's!) the other night and he just didn't wake up enough to feed and then woke up two hours later in a really bad mood, not sure the two things are related though!!

missingmymarbles · 29/09/2012 21:17

Yeah I have tried it before and it pretty much went as you describe Susie. I'm thinking I might just let it go tonight since I have only just laid her down now.

TeaandHobnobs · 29/09/2012 21:25

Dram feeding Grin

BabylonPI · 29/09/2012 21:55

Well DH just gone up and taken baby b with him, I'm watching x factor then I'm going to dream feed and hope for a better night tonight!!

Lashings of sleepy dust for everyone!!!! Smile

MiniPopsMum2012 · 30/09/2012 02:45

Dram feeding might work Grin

how's it going marbles?

Babylon that's pretty amazing work by your DP.

Minipop has been really good the last couple of days. Put him down after some wake time following his 5pm feed (where we had a lot of smiles & giggles), he settled himself to sleep, then slept for over three hours. Just a shame I wasn't asleep too. Hey Ho!

I am just catching up on x factor during 2am feed & settling. :)

how at all the snotty babies doing? Hope the colds are clearing up.

Xx

MrsNPattz · 30/09/2012 03:18

Hi guys, another breast feeder here wishing for more sleep Hmm really tired tonight so hoping my little one will settle soon. He is 2 weeks old today - time is flying already!! I like this thread - it's always nice to know you aren't alone Smile

Susieloo · 30/09/2012 04:31

Hello mrs Smile

Well we are on second feed of the night with babyloo first waking at 2am, he was very sleepy though and was trying to go back to sleep while I changed his nappy so he only managed about 10 tens, I wish I hadn't been so quick to pick him up when he was first stirring as rather than gearing up for a cry until I got him I think he could have gone back to sleep. He sounds very snotty rather than snuffly now so will break out another Karvol!!

Think we will be awake again at half six and think I will have a very awake baby tomorrow after our sleepy day todaySmile

missingmymarbles · 30/09/2012 04:37

On second feed but its four hours since first which is an improvement. Hopefully things are turning round. Snot seems to have turned tail a bit too Smile

Those happy gurgly noises are the best aren't they Mini?Smile

Hi to MrsN. Hope everyone is fast asleep right now.

technoduck · 30/09/2012 07:17

Good morning,
We have had a rubbish night here ducking has been up every hour, but he is 6weeks today so I'm guessing its a growth spurt. I've now got an infection due to the birth so I'm feeling like I've been hit by a train. But enough about me, I hope everyone is ok and have had a goodnight and you are all fast asleep!

MrsNPattz · 30/09/2012 07:40

We are awake for our third feed although it is morning now - every 2 hours it has been here Confused he has fallen asleep and I can't wait to join him!

MrsNPattz · 30/09/2012 07:40

Hope you feel better soon techno, sounds awful Sad

MiniPopsMum2012 · 30/09/2012 07:42

Ahh techno growth spurts are no fun are they? Hope your DH is looking after you & wishing you better quickly.

star how are you doing?

Hey Mrs :)

Minipop keeps deciding to wake up at about 5am & will only settle on me in bed, so have had to bring him into bed where he'll sleep fit another two hours.

We've just had 7am feed, poo & lots of smiles & giggles, but not many burps!

Hope you've all managed to get a bit of sleep.

missingmymarbles · 30/09/2012 21:39

Aargh! Cluster feeding! Every time I've put her down has been too soon this evening! Still, she's peacefully down now. Here's hoping for a repeat if last night. Sending the Sleepy Mouse round.....

MiniPopsMum2012 · 30/09/2012 22:03

Marbles I hope the sleepy mouse has a sack of sparkly sleeping dust for all our babies? Grin See you all in the early hours...

Hopefully I can catch up on x factor as DP wouldn't let me watch it earlier. :-)

Susieloo · 30/09/2012 23:20

We need the sleepy mouse over hereSmile babyloo had a very awake day with no real naps and so I bought him up to bed half an hour earlier than usual and by 8 he was asleep, I was hoping he would go through until at least twelve and thought he might get to 2 but he is on his first feed now, hope this doesn't mean he is going to do every 2 hours from now until 6.30!!!

X factor and downton were being taped so I can watch tomorrow or in the early hours at this rate if babyloo decides its time to get upSmile

Hope your feeling a bit better techno

Hope the sleepy mouse finds his way around everyoneSmile

technoduck · 30/09/2012 23:42

Welcome Mrsnpattzs,
The sleepy mouse is an infestation I wouldn't mind having.
Still feeling like poo, me and ducking went to bed at 8 finished his feed and went down at 9ish and awake already, really stuggling with this was like a zombie all day .
