( distributes tea biscuits and nursing pillows allround....)

How do yo stay awake at night feeding??? Am struGgling to stay awake and have a sore thumb from playing solitaire on the iphone...alternates with reading muMsnet, daily mail and facebook....

What else is easy reading websites, games apps that dont require any brainpower that I cana entertain myself with? Any tips how to stay awake? Am seriously tired here!

Have cosleept with my dc's from approx 8-10 weeks, which makes night feeds easier, but I have weeks to go until then and wont dare to bedshare yet as older dc's still turn up in qour bed at night....

Hello heffalump!
Having a dreadful night again made even worse by the fact I'm scared that ducking will cry and annoy the neighbours. Have been cluster feeding since 11.30 think I'm close to cracking, just keep telling myself its a phase and ff won't make it easier.

I think somebody up there is being nice to me, put DD down just after midnight and we've only just woken for feeding now. I'm amazed! Feels too good to be true though so I won't count my chickens just yet.

Hope there's lots of happily sleeping mums & babies tonight :)

Hello heffalump

Morning!
Have just done first feed. Prediction for next is 5.30 (haha); perhaps 4 is more realistic, keeping to pattern of long stint followed by short ones, although last night was more or less four hourlies.

Ignore your neighbours techno - insensitive and ignorant.

Hello Heffalump!

Second set of objections this morningSad just as we were getting back on track. Hopefully it won't ruin it. That said, it didn't make any difference last time despite her sleeping all day.

Sleep well.

Hi ladies can you squeeze another member in before the end of the thread? I've got 4 day old DD2 feeding as only a hungry newborn can, although last night was good and we managed an hour and a half of proper sleep I'm trying not to get my hopes up tonight. Some company would be lovely :)

Your not a bad mum techno, they sound like they were just speaking without thinking.

Sorry you had a bad night minipop, not what you need at all. I didn't know threads could reach full capacity!!

We are on first feed of the night after bed at 8.20, so much for my 1.30-3am stretches!! This is early for us so no idea what time he will be up now.

For the first time in a long time I couldn't sleep tonight, felt really tired but just couldn't nod off and was in a really light sleep when babyloo woke me.

My prediction for next feed is 4am but really hope it's longerSmile

Hope everyone is asleep and dreaming peacefullySmile

Ignore them techno You're most definitely not a bad mum.

We had an awful night last night, a total of around 90 minutes proper sleep. Minipop's tummy kept waking him up and in the end I has to have him sleep on my chest in bed with me, so so tired today and not helped by my pending cold that is also making me feel rubbish.

Bah!

Any how to just realised we're almost at full capacity for messages on this thread.

Who will start the next one? Grin

Clocking in for the night shift
Feeling really crap now, the neighbours made a smart arse comment about hearing ducking crying at night time (which is rubbish I pick him up and tend to him as soon as he makes a sound) tried to explain that he has colic and he asked if I was giving him anything for it!
Just felt like saying no I'm letting ducking sufferer and leaving him to cry. It's made me feel like such a bad mum. They are a young childless couple tho, last time I'm feeding there cat while there away.

I have found the purple elephant!!!

Susieloo · 03/10/2012 18:09

I've just googled Lamaze toys and someone gave me an elephant when he was born, I just presumed he wasn't old enough to play with it, no idea where I have put it so i will have to find it, thank you babylonGrin

Babyloo has one very bright red cheek which I presume means we are in to teething territory, oh no.........

Hello everyoneSmile

Babyloo did 8.40 until 3.30!!! As usual my boobs woke me up before he did and he was only just starting to stir but had managed to get himself horizontal in his cot so I had to move him which woke him up, he only fed for ten minutes and then went through till half five. He is staying awake for most of the day now though.

I also think he's getting bored, I talk to him all day and he comes with me round the house but I'm starting to think about toys which is a bit tricky as he can't sit up yet and if he has anything in his hands he will hit himself in the face with it!!

Hope everyone is having a good day Smile

6 weeks is classic growth spurt time techno - I reckon in a week or two things will seem much easier.

BabyTea was groaning and grunting all day yesterday, I think he maybe had trapped wind? He had improved a bit by bedtime, but he still had an unsettled night - bed at 11:30, up at 2:30 and 4:30 when I took him into bed and fed him lying down, but that still only took him to 6:30

Report
technoduck · 03/10/2012 06:55

Babylon please let me know how you get on with the dream sheep have been looking at them myself. Ducking has been getting me up every hour or so for about 3 nights now, he's 6weeks old please just tell me its a growth spurt and it gets better!

Hi all, been a tiresome few nights here at Babylon Towers Hmm

Baby B still a bit snotty and has a dry cough, and still wanting to feed 2 hourly through the night Sad I am absolutely pooped Sad

He's also not sleeping much through the day so I'm not getting chance to catch up on any!!!

Hey ho!! Weighed in at 19lb13oz (9.01kg) and is still following his line perfectly so I'm doing something right obviously!!

DM has bought him an early Xmas pressie of Ewan the Dream Sheep to help him settle! I'll let you know how it goes Grin

Sleep deprivation is beyond horrible minipop. I feel rubbish some days but I don't think I am as sleep deprived as you so it's no wonder you feel like a zombie, I was told that babyloo would start to scale back on the feeds when he hit 12lbs but I think the bigger he gets the more food he needs, I can't ever imagine him sleeping through the night until he is on solids and I'm not feeding him anymore-which realistically is January!!!

We are on hopefully last feed before bed after another really awake day when he has been desperately fighting sleep, just about to attempt to put him in his cot for the first time Smile

Have a good night allSmile

Am very envious if all the long sleep stretches. I wish Minipop wouldn't improve, I feel like I have been a walking zombie for the last 18 weeks :(

he's 8 weeks corrected & over 13lbs, so it's not unreasonable :).
