I absolutely applaud Harry and Meghan. If the Royal Family is supposed to be representing Britain as a voice and brand and all that it represents, I would want to know if and where it fails its people. No way should this be covered up. None of this burden of proof was or is required for MM. The mere whisper of accusations of making Kate Cry and it was accepted as fact and not to be questioned. Happy to accept accusations of bullying against MM are true. But hearing something from the actual people in the situation suddenly it's we need to hear both sides- meanwhile everything bad about MM whether a rumour or unsubstantiated claim in the tabloids is fact. My reasoning was, I could say one of these 10 men raped me but I’m not going to tell you who. Therefore casting doubt on all 10 men. Right or wrong this was my reasoning

Very true! I guess that is why she gets to represent us and others don't. She knows her place and what it means for herself. It will catch up with her one day. Racism never misses.

Being sheltered does not just mean one thing. It can be plethora of arreas. It can also be relative depending on how the person digestit. He was meeting a lot of black people but only started to understand racism when meghan came along. It's being sheltered when he goes to South Africa to help poor children and not equating that problem to the empire. They are the problem. His family is the problem. Maybe he he understood that I don't. It is all relative.

And if you named your rapist you'd be branded a liar and ostracised for "ruining" his life (even though most likely he would suffer no real ill effects). Then he could use the courts to seek damages from you for defamation and your life would get genuinely ruined.

Who is listened to. Who is believed. Who is valued. Who is protected. It's about who has the power. And in your rape analogy it's not the rape victims, it's the men who rape them.

In that first piece I thought it was so simply put, all the family had to do was stand up for her. That could have been huge, could have had such positive repercussions.

I could say it but I would like to give you the benefit of doubts. People lie that also exist. However, please don't turn this into incel or entitled men's behaviour to always see women as out to get them. What has happened to Megan did not happen in a vacuum. Where have you been since meghan joined the scene? It is not just one incident. So yes, I will believe her before anyone else. If other people want to speak their truths, then so be it.

^This. I am so ashamed of my country(wo)men today. I knew there were still racists around but I honestly thought we had come further than this. And all we (as a nation) have learnt to do is hide it a bit better and deny it a lot more.

@debbrianna I have never doubted Meghan claims, I recognise and acknowledge subtle racism. I’ll admit it has taken me a long time. I just don’t agree with throwing an accusation out there then refusing to discuss it. But you are right, Meghans words Meghans choices, Meghans story. I wish them all nothing but the best, huge respect to her for standing up & being counted.
