Black men protesting BLM but exclusively dating white women

LillyFlower1984 · 02/01/2021 11:02

I’m always confused about black men or men of colour in the media and RL who shout racism/BLM and so on yet when you look at their lifestyle they are married to white women. When you go on to find out more they only ever have dated/married white women.... what are people’s take on this?
@Afromeg I said it’s SLOWER growing. Compared to English hair that is what I said. I did not say Afro hair doesn’t grow at all.
Aunty mechie gi onu there! Who's arguing with you about slower growing or not growing at all! When you can sharpen mouth to insult your mother, not me! Go to bed!

DivineRoyalty · 23/01/2021 23:34

MaveMay1
I have just proved you wrong. Have a good cry and go to bed.
Goodnight❤

BlackIsBlackIsBlack · 23/01/2021 23:35

Rapunzel

Shouldn't you be letting down your hair and being quiet, this time of night?

You are one ignorant, bossy woman.. for all the reasons I stated above.

I couldn't care less about videos on afro hair because that wasn't my issue. My issue was that you somehow think you have the right to impose your views (quite heavily) on other women who think different to you, and make them feel less black..as if you're coining the Royalties for 'blackness'

Seriously, step off.

I had a look at some of those clips on hair DivineRoyalty and as I said upthread it's each to her own hair journey.

But it seems, and I haven't seen all of them, that there is a focus on straightening the hair with a flat iron. Whose idea of straight hair being beautiful is that?

I like to think that my big ol' bushy hair (pom pom hair my kids call it) in all it's kinkiness is very beautiful. Others may not think so but that's ok

Aswad · 23/01/2021 23:38

How did this thread get so detailed??!! That was a genuinely interesting question and again highlights the need for this exact space.
If a man dates EXCLUSIVELY white women and avoids Black women, then yes I think he’s a hypocrite when joining the BLM movement.

DivineRoyalty · 23/01/2021 23:39

23:35BlackIsBlackIsBlackwhy are you still talking at me? You didnt like what I said from 4 pages ago. That's okay. Goodnight❤

MaveMay1 · 23/01/2021 23:40

@Afromeg listen you have mistakenly not read my post then fired at me. At NO point did I say Afro hair doesn’t grow at all. Scroll back...

I claimed that Somalian’s have the hair length and texture from the Arabs.... it’s true they tend to have long hair and a nice texture.

You started calling me an idiot I gave you it back you started running your mouth first. If you cannot dish it don’t be playing victim when you get BUNNNN.

Don’t come on a forum if you don’t want to acknowledge others view points. Nobody here is forcing you to reply... yet your here upset replying chaile.

RollOn2022 · 23/01/2021 23:41

This topic, in fact I’m sure the wording is the same, was posted last year.

DivineRoyalty · 23/01/2021 23:43

@Maggiethecat
The natural hair community hate flat ironing their hair. The only time it's done is to show the full length of their hair like in these videos. Natural hair can also be straightened by threading. It is done only to show the length. Hair straighteners are very damaging to natural hair.

maggiethecat · 23/01/2021 23:53

But what is the preoccupation with hair length? whose ideal of beauty is long hair?

As I said before, do what you feel is right or good for you but allow me to make choices for MY hair without challenging my self identity.

MaveMay1 · 23/01/2021 23:54

@DivineRoyalty

MaveMay1 I have just proved you wrong. Have a good cry and go to bed. Goodnight❤
I’m happy to acknowledge your view point. This doesn’t prove much how do you these women are full black? Did they tell you?

The main point is these women don’t account for the majority of black women but you don’t want to hear that. I’m tired and ignorance is bliss so you just continue... by yourself.

I stand by what I said Afro hair is slower growing.... just like most black people have brown eyes!

So what now I’m going to google black people with green eyes and claim this is the MAJORITY! Behave.

BlackIsBlackIsBlack · 23/01/2021 23:56

As I said before, do what you feel is right or good for you but allow me to make choices for MY hair without challenging my self identity.

This.

DivineRoyalty · 24/01/2021 00:05

MaveMay1, you asked for photos and I gave you 7 videos. I have more!
You do not know majority of black hair since majority of black hair are in extensions and false hair to the point that not even the owner of the hair knows the capability of her own hair. But thankfully this is quickly changing, then your rage for black women will become even stronger when you see majority of black women walking around with their crowns. You have been proven wrong. Accept defeat and go to bed! Good night!

Afromeg · 24/01/2021 00:07

You have a big problem if you seriously believe what you've written is the actual sequence of events and if, from my post where I started 'firing at you', you can't deduce what it is you wrote in your post (that I replied to) that got me 'fired up'; and if you think, from what I wrote, that my mentioning your bush girl comment is because I can't take what I dish and not because it's attached to lazy tropes and stereotypes.

This is why I say you may be a child. Either that or you need to see a therapist or something if you seriously have this problem as an adult (with the exception of health issues). I would have helped but I don't help people who don't think they need help. I'm too 'aggressive' for that anyway, as the 'bush girl' that I am Wink

If it isn't clear to you, let me make it clear: I'm no longer having that discussion about hair with you. I stopped once you insulted me and refused to admit it while gaslighting me about why I'm 'heated and firing at you'.

I don't do that internet bullshit of throwing out insults because you disagree with someone behind a computer screen, then hiding your hands and pretending you did nothing. Your online mates may be okay with it, not me. If you insult yourself and continue to do so, that's it. I'm sure others are still happy to talk to you about it. That one don pass.

maggiethecat · 24/01/2021 00:07

Oh Lord, the divisiveness of hair!

Sisters, rock on with your hair choices, it's yours to make and no one else's!

Goodnight.

DivineRoyalty · 24/01/2021 00:09

@MaggietheCat

Mavemay kept insisting that black women couldn't grow long hair and that our hair was slow to grow. My respond was that afro hair grows much faster and healthier than European hair. She demanded proof so I gave her proof of full black women with long hair. She is still trying to make excuses.

MaveMay1 · 24/01/2021 00:11

You have ASSUMED the majority don’t know. Why is it that? Because it fits your own narrative.

How patronising to speak down on others just because we don’t want to do as you. Are you for real.

Ohhh please your bitter. “More to the point fake hair”

Fake hair is removed. So how could anybody not possibly know? We know alright!

Talk about ramming your insecurities down someone else’s throat. You have got too much time to be worrying what another woman does with her hair and the audacity to say we don’t know. Its you who doesn’t know

Afromeg · 24/01/2021 00:23

chaille - I see you may have Ghanaian heritage or friends. Ask around, if you're privileged enough to know any Nigerian - born and raised, specifically Igbo people. Tell them you were having a civil conversation with your mother's agemate and from nowhere, told her to stop spouting foolishness. Come back to me with their answer.

Then go back and tell them when she fired at you, you called her 'bushgirl'.
Come back again with their answer.

Perhaps you can learn to not have the same style of conversation with everyone online. Anu!

I'm going to bed biko!

tootsytoo · 24/01/2021 00:26

This thread is deeply upsetting to read as a black woman.

How on earth can black women be bashing each other in 2021 for their hair choices? You do realise, no other race is as divisive as black are towards each other.

Have you noticed white and Asians stick together no matter what in relation to race. We are so fragmented it makes me sick. Some of you need to check yourselves.

Also, to anyone who thinks a black man any man who exclusively dates a certain race cannot believe in equality at the same time is deluded. The two are not mutually exclusive. It's like saying other races cannot support BLM either. It just makes you sound very bitter and silly.

Honestly sometimes I just feel like black people will just never get along. It's literally impossible with the mindset of so many of us the way it is.

MaveMay1 · 24/01/2021 00:32

Why are you here assuming things? You do not get to dictate a conversation. Which part do you not understand?

It doesn’t mean I don’t know something because I’m doing something different to another black woman.

More to the point of this hair topic!!! Who started getting personal about hair FIRST??!

I’m not mad sis because someone wants to or not wear “fake hair” @DivineRoyalty.

As a matter of a fact she was the one who started because she cannot accept others choices of what they do with THEIR OWN HAIR!!
