molly and angel sorry you've been feeling rough drink lots of orange juice, flush everything out of your system!

katey sorry you've been stressed by the weight issues hate that it makes mothers feel so guilty as it sounds like you've been doing so well with feeding. At least they're keeping an eye on him, better safe than sorry and all that but stick at it!

hollyoaks that was a post to rival rachel I know what you mean about names- some friends of dh's chose our favourite boys' name a couple of months back. We're still going to use it if it's a boy but don't want all dh's family etc thinking we copied oh well.

Not a thing from me during the night or this morning...baby still happily squirming away and seems to have forgotten the way out. 40+2 today.

Carikube, how was the sweep?

Naff all happening here, had a big cry at dp last night because I'm so scared and tense about going into labour. I feel like it's never going to happen naturally while I'm this anxious! Perhaps I just need to get drunk. lol

Hello All,

Congrats to Kat and Sassles!

I thought I was in labour last night for about 90 mins - regular pains as well and tightening, then it just disappeared. Tried not to be disappointed as I'm not due yet.

Woke up at 3am thinking about how I will do everything once DH goes back to work and ended up coming downstairs and writing a colour coded schedule for everyone. It's so anal it's frightening! But I slept really soundly once I'd done it. Now, if the men go hungry, there are no clean clothes, packed lunches or people aren't where they ought to be, it's their fault not mine!

My 10 year old has really got his head round what life with a newborn will be like, despite not really remembering his younger brother. He said, 'it's basically like you are working on a nightshift mum'. I thought that summed it up very well!

Have also just cleaned the inside of my washing machine. I really need to get this baby out and start behaving a bit more normally. That's not right.

Looking forward to a day in the sun with my 3 year old in the paddling pool. Happy days!

pamelat you are a great mum, don't feel bad for any decision you make. Not sure if it helps but my DD was like that with feeding patterns at your DS's age, I had 4 days in hospital so I was able to sit and feed day and night but was told its normal and their tummies are so small. Now (3wks) DD2 goes varying amounts of time between feeds (just woken up from 3 hr nap) and then sometimes goes 1hr and wants more!

DD is outgrowing her "upto 1 month" clothes, awww its started already - she'aa growing up

Rachel - fingers crossed for you, only slightly jealous

Saw a full display of newborns yesterday at NCT group meet up - they were so sweet - ranging in age between 6 to 1 week. Can't believe we'll really have one of our own soon. Their birth stories are all very diverse - and nothing like anyone's birth plan. It doesn't seem to matter at all in the end.

Still definitely waiting here - absolutely nothing happening if I lie down, but if I sit I get constant mild to slightly intense period pain, like yesterday and day before. Don't think yesterday's acupuncture did anything.

Best wishes to all with new borns and breast feeding and weight issues, and toddlers with potty training issues.

hi ladies, pleased to announce the arrival of Eric David this morning at 3.48, wait for it ... 11 lbs 2 oz! He's great, breast fed for 2 hours straight after! His head was delivered in the birthing pool, gas and air had run out, so no pain relief! Shoulders got a bit stuck so was whisked out of the pool to deliver the rest of him! Just a 2nd degree tear, i'm feeling good!

Blimey Rachel, 11lb 2oz? NO PAIN RELIEF? that's got to be a thread record. He's a full 4lb more than my ds was, bloody well done you!

wow, mew thread already, and lots of babies, congrats!!!! to you all, and good luck for those still waiting, can't be long now...

i haven't read anything yet, just a quick post to say oscar and i are doing well, breastfeeding is improving, not perfect yet, but we have a lot of support from the local peers group, much better than than the midwifes... only we are not sleeping too much and can't concentrate on anything, but we are making it out of the house, a tiny bit,...
i'll keep popping up when i get the energy to turn the computer on

Hi all
Just a quick update as i've been following the thread since last year but haven't posted that much.
Jacob Anthony was born 17 May at 7.50pm 6 lb 11 oz after what seemed like a never ending labour. waters broke 3am in the early hours of Saturday morning and then ended up being induced as contractions weren't progressing. First stage 15 hours, 2nd stage about 2 hours. Had epidural towards end of first stage but it didn't work and anetheatist (sorry don't know how to spell!) was in theatre so couldn't come back to sort it so just ended up with gas and air in end

rachel congratulations! Great weight! Sounds like it was quick too!?

Well done both of you - hope to hear your birth stories when you get time!

And - Morph, congratulations too ! Wow can't keep up with the births now!

James try not to stress about the birth - your body will take control and I am sure you will be able to get epidural if you need it - they shouldn't gave told you otherwise. Try to rest and relax as much as poss, and think positively! It is nervewracking but the baby will come out and you will be ok!

hollyoaks leg waxing was surprisingly painful... But at least it didn't last for long - unlike labour!

congratulations morph that's a great name one of the best in fact, you have fantastic taste. Sounded like you had a tough time of it though still they are worth it

I am utterly shattered again today, was up from about 3 ish to 5ish, full change again (must research new nappies these Pampers are rubbish don't know if it is the news ones or size 1s or having a boy) and the new low of him being sick in my hair! He's just so hard to settle back donw again.

who was asking what I was doing, he gets up and has a good feed from one boob, gets winded and changed, then a feed from the other side, he usually falls off himself and possets up some milk. He either goes back to sleep or gets up and stares around then gets really unsettled fussing on and off any offered boobs or just whinging. Load of sshing and patting and eventually he will sleep.

rachel!! I can't believe that weight, no wonder the bump was so big massive respect and welcome Eric! Fab name! Another quick labour too.

morph congrats to you too! Born on due date, prompt baby

James bless you having a bit of a meltdown I'm starting to realise how stressful being overdue is so really feel for you. So hoping this lovely sunny weekend will bring lots of babies with it

My RL friend with same due date has had a little girl today. I am so ...I'm definitely losing this race!

Congrats to rachel and morph too blimey rachel am very impressed!!!

Makes my 7lbs 8oz sound a doddle, which I know it was not!! Very impressed.

Alex is 4 days old today and all day I have felt hormonal/low truth be told. He didnt like the heat so was fretful all afernoon (after only 3 hours sleep last night) and fed literally all afternoon. DD was not impressed so played DH up and has been fractious (but really good with Alex still ) all afternoon. I got tearful and felt completely over whelmed. I cried in front of DD for the second time in a few weeks

And then suddenly DD in bed fast asleep and looking angelic and Alex has slept for 2 solid hours without a feed and life feels ok again . Know its all a bit silly, and have googled it and sounds like typical baby blues. It even says day 4 or 5 is the worst but you then feel guilty as feel should be so happy with a perfect healthy little boy and a lovely family.

Anyway, cant believe the change in the list! The waiting lounge is shrinking.
