Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

meant dying to tell someone, not dying too. How bad is that! would like to blame pregnant brain but have never been able to spell!!

Vikks · 05/02/2010 12:13

What a morning! Doc was lovely and she really put me at ease. I got a welcome pack and she told me that she wants to do my 6 week check-up appointment after the birth to meet my baby! I added ?or babies? ha ha.
I phoned the midwife and my first appointment is 5th March, they were great too, especially when I told them my TTC history.
Next I phoned my fertility clinic to say hopeful I?m not coming back. They all know me up there and the secretary sounded like she was welling up and of course that set me off again! And the icing on the cake was; I have a free early scan as part of my fertility treatment which is in 3 weeks?.. too much excitement I need to lie down.

On the down side?I felt like shit this morning! I was in work at 7.30 and (TMI) had to keep running to the loo. There?s no way I?ll be able to keep this quiet if that happens every day.

Ahhh, it's all so lovely Vikks! I'm really pleased everyone is sharing in your excitement, that makes it even more special!

Sorry to hear you're feeling shit today. Fingers crossed it won't go on too long.

My first midwife appt is 4th March and I can't wait!! I've got my welcome pack too, it's the size of a house!!

jennimoo · 05/02/2010 13:46

I didn't get a welcome pack from the dr, but they do booking in appointments with midwife at 6 weeks here so going next week!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 05/02/2010 14:22

Wow you are all so organised!! Must be great to be waiting for your booking in appointment - though its a bit of a let down, unlike the first scan which is AMAZING

I am still symptom spotting - they seem few and far between at the moment, so I think I may spend a fortune on pregnancy tests to continue convincing myself!

I used a CB digital for the first time this time (only one in the shop) - does anyone prefer these? I kinda what to try and old skool one to see a nice strong like, strangely find it more reassuring IYKWIM

Vikks - congrats with your PG after such a tough time - I bet the clinic were so pleased for you! Good news re early scan - will really help you relax now

Ivytheterrible · 05/02/2010 14:30

That sounds great Vikks and a real positive experience! It sounds like the clinic were delighted!

Have just told my brother, we're very close and was pretty shocked! My parents are coming round later... hopefully I'll muster up the courage to tell them.

Seashells I intially used a very cheap 99p "line" test and I thought there was a line but didn't really believe it. Then tested with CB digi and got the "pregnant" which sort of confirmed it in my head.

Sandramac · 05/02/2010 20:14

Vikks nice to have a due date double - sounds like the people at the clinic are lovely.

Seashellsontheshore I used 2 old skool kits and haven't tried the digital. I'm a bit of a scientist and think the simpler they are the less that can go wrong!

Vikks · 05/02/2010 22:29

Hello Mummies to be!
Question: I?ve got a friend?s birthday bash tomorrow afternoon/evening and of course I?m not drinking but everyone knows I (used to) like a drink. So what excuses can I use to throw them off the scent? (They will be suspicious!)

A, I?m still pissed from last night!
B, I?m coming down with something, don?t feel like it.
C, Try and pretend I?m drinking, i.e., coke or lemonade that could have vodka in it.
D, I?m on a health kick (don?t know if they?ll fall for that).

Or anymore fun ideas??????.

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 05/02/2010 22:45

Can I join? Found out on DH birthday last Tuesday that we're pregnant! I have slotted myself into the list according to due date. Hope that's right.

Congratulations and welcome to all the newbies!
I've added myself to the list.

Vikks - I had a family weddng at the same stage last time I was pregnant and didn't want anyone to know. I told them all I was on antibiotics because of a tooth infection - it worked a treat and no-one suspected. I can't use it again though! There are a couple of antibiotics you definitely can't drlnk with so if you get questioned - just say you are taking one of those.

Am at wedding party tonight so planning my excuses for not drinking. It should be OK as just a workmate of my fellas. In 2 weeks a really good friend of mine is getting married and everyone is gearing up for a big piss up... it is going to take a bit more explaining! Good luck with it Vikks

Hello! Can I join please? I thought I was on the Sept 10 board but twas not to be so here I am! Just got my BFP on friday and I've only told DP and my best friend so far, oh and my 16mth old DS but I don't think he could care less! It will be nice getting to know you all as the months go by and share symptoms, grumbles and joys. I was on the due Sept 08 last time and it's really nice having the moral support!

So are any of you ladies getting any symptoms yet? I've got a funny taste in my mouth I suppose you could call it metallic but it's sort of warm and strange. I also feel as though I've got a tummy bug on the way and a little bit twingy where the baby is. Probably ligament pain. I did get a few cramps before I knew I was pregnant and I thought it was AF on the way. Funny how mother nature plays tricks on you isn't it?

Vikks · 06/02/2010 22:23

Hi All, I?m back from my night out. I drank non-alcoholic lager and lemonade in small glasses (which looked like a spirit and mixer). Only one person noticed and I told them that I was on Meds. So all was going well in that area it wasn?t until I ate some food and then I might have blown my cover. I was so hungry I ate really quickly and then had to run outside for some air. I felt so sick we had to leave and I?ve got awful cramps now.

Breastmilk - Glad to have you aboard, congratulations!
I?m definitely having symptoms but at the moment I don?t mind having them because they remind me that my little bean is still in there. My appetite has really gone and when I do eat I feel so sick. Plus peeing like a race horse, sore boobs and (TMI) bad guts! I really did not expect to have all this so soon, is this normal? A friend of mine said she didn?t feel any different until 6-7 weeks. I would also love to hear if anyone else has got similar niggles.

Helloo! Can I join please? Got a BFP on Friday night- DH didn't believe it as it was faint, so bought a digital one that shouts PREGNANT!! I had a MMC last year and rather nervous although I already have more symptoms than last time- achy boobs and feel queasy. My cycles had gone to pot- right down to 18 days and very long periods of about 2 weeks, so I think I conceived 2 weeks ago, but due to start of period- which I did not clock, I don't know how long a doc would say, but I think I'm into week 5 this week.

Congratulations to all of you- fingers and toes crossed .

Oh, and I'm 32- it would be my first, but 2nd pregnancy and I think its October, but I'm not sure xx

Norfolkbumpkin · 07/02/2010 18:10

Hello everyone, I'd like to add my name to the list too as I have just found out that I am expecting baby number 2. Did a test yesterday morning which had a very faint line, just did another one (as today is when AF should have arrived) and got a very obvious pink line. What a difference 24 hours makes in the world of HCG!

So, the details are;
PG#2 age 37, dd(2.5), EDD 15th Oct.

Congratulations and welcome to everyone new.

Symptoms starting in earnest now (5+4) - all day nausea kicked in yesterday and still going strong. Also got a nice case of thrush - know it is common in pregnancy but does anyone know if I can take the canesten pessary/oral tablets at this stage??!! Have put a call into my GP to get him to ring me as don't want to haul myself down there just to ask him.

Vikks · 08/02/2010 10:18

Morning Mummies! Welcome newbies and good luck. I think it?s great that there?s so many of us, I?m loving the fact that I get to share all this with you lovely ladies.
I?m soooo inpatient though; I want to shout from the roof tops! Is everyone waiting until 12 weeks to tell the world? I?ve got my first scan at 7 weeks and if everything looks good then I know I?m gonna be tempted!
At work too I?ve had to tell my boss because I usually do a lot of lifting, I think the other staff will notice something?s up.

Dipping - Hope you can get sorted quickly. I don?t know anything about the tablets, sorry. x
