Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Thanks for all your compliments, although I don't feel young, I feel very old & ancient!

Nymph I echo what SamanthaB said, I think you would have known by now if it was an ectopic. Also I've had terrible cramps right from when I had my bfp & they have only just started to die down. I see them as something positive as I had them when I was pregnant with dd but NOT with the three pregnancies I mc'd last year. I've been using a hot wheat-bag & when they were really bad I took paracetamol. Have you got a hot water bottle?

Yes SamanthaB with a mmc your symptoms usually do disappear which is why I've been really glad to have been feeling so nauseous for the first pregnancy ever! Have you tried travel sickness bands? Quite a few people on this thread seem to be using them.

How about a halloween themed name for our thread as we are due in Oct??

AbFabT · 10/03/2010 20:55

Hello, New Ladies and Old Ladies (as in been on here for a while).

Nymph, think everyone's giving good advice, I am on my first so don't feel experienced to say anything constructive, just to give you my best wishes.

I went for my booking in appointment today. They've re-dated me so I am now due 4th not 7th - so I've suddenly jumped to 10 weeks and a day!
Appointment was fine, whizzed through my history and stuff. Am now bombarded with information packs. Seemed pretty efficient, though they didn't do my bloods - means I have to make a second trip on Wednesday. Bother.

Still slightly concerned as I just don't have symptoms - I'm not tired or sicky or anything! My mum says all of her pregnancies were symptom-free, and me and my siblings all popped out fine.

How about a simple 10/10 as the title of the new thread?

New list with me moved date:

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 21:09

Right can anyone remind me, I've been taking those pregnacare vitimins with the omega three and I've been getting yellowy discharge. Am I right in thinking that others have had this with those vitimins??

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 21:12

Mummylovessadie Just looked at some of your photos and then gawked at the one that said you were forty and my first reaction was 'no way!'. Seriously whatever moisturiser you're using, keep at it. It's obviously working!!

shieldbug · 10/03/2010 21:15

Hello again to the oldies and welcome to the newbies!

Salander we may be date buddies as I think I'm due on the 16th, but as I haven't had an official date yet, that may all change.

Nymphadora good luck. Hope everything is fine.

I'm really jealous of people who have had their mw appt. I haven't heard from mine yet, so no dates for anything. Apparently they were going to give me an early mw appt because of the fibroids, but if I'm 8+?5 and haven't even been given a date yet, that's hardly early. Since I haven't been given any information at all, I'm tempted to tell them I've been eating soft cheeses melted on mussels with a side order of mayo. If it wasn't for online lists and a vague "no soft cheeses or raw eggs" from my gp, I would have eaten normal stuff. Sorry to rant.

btw what's with the whole no lifting thing? I have to lift things down from high shelves and feel guilty every time, but have no idea what it could do.

MummyLovesSadie · 10/03/2010 21:19

Hermya:

  1. thanks !

  2. OMG yellow discharge & neon yellow pee!!! My pee sometimes is seriously the colour of yellow post-its! Now I know why, I didn't even think it could be to do with the Pregnacare. They should have a warning on the side of the box - "Warning, may cause radioactive emissions"!

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 21:25

Ooooooo I've had a thought for the name of the October thread, how about that song from the Harry Potter movie. We could use lines from that? Thats kinda Halloweeny (ok a lot).

So it could go

October 2009 - Double double, toil and trouble.

October 2009 - In a caldron bake.

October 2009 - Fire burn and caldron bubble.

October 2009 - Something wicked this way comes (this may be more appropriate towards the end).

Obviously this is just an idea, but I'm putting it out there and I'm hoping you don't cover me in rotten vegatables.

MummyLovesSadie · 10/03/2010 21:29

Sounds good but could we change the 2009 to 2010 or else we'll all be giving birth to 1 year olds! Also like the brewing in cauldrons analogy!

loobyboo · 10/03/2010 21:30

Didn't think I'd be posting again today. Just need to vent some anger.

The word is mum, I don't need any of this stuff now.
Had a call from her early, even though it was my birthday yesterday , wanting to moan about my brother (long story he had to move back home due to the current climate) they are not getting on, he has a new girlfriend which is causing lots of problems.

anyway she started her normal moan about everything and I guess because I didn't agree with her take her side she didn't like it and she said that perhaps She should sort out her own life go off somewhere or be over the road (which means the graveyard) I know that sounds harsh but we have been here before numerous times with the threats.

I haven't told her yet about the bean, because of her reaction ,I had thought about doing on Sunday.

I just wish she would think about other people and there happiness , her granddaughters and not wallow in self pity the hole time. Our relationship has never been that great(another long story). But it's been ticking along nicely.

Sorry I know it's long and it could be a lot longer filling in the background info I just need to have a moan hormones, emotional ahhhhhhhhh!!!!

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 21:35

Mummylovessadie Ermmmm I blame my hormones and my very present placenta brain.

Loobyloo I am sorry to hear that you've been getting hassle. I hope things get better soon.

floozietoozie · 10/03/2010 21:37

Hello to the new people (from a quite new person).

Nymph - fx for you.

AbFabT - my colleague who has just told us she's pg at nearly 12 weeks has not had any ms at all, apart from one rogue being sick in the middle of the night incident. . So I shouldn't worry. My best friend was also the same. Everyone's different - if you don't have it from the start maybe you're just lucky lucky lucky.

Saw the midwife today and will have booking-in appt next Thursday. Good news is they've changed the way scans are done, so you now get it at 11 weeks rather than 14, and she actually makes the appointment when she comes to see me so I'll have a date there and then, no waiting for a letter.

The bad news, which I am mega-pissed off about, is this health area does NOT do nuchal scans at all, because of the cost of training staff apparently. Not even for people over a certain age, which I'm sure they used to when I was pg last time, because I was too young then to qualify for it (not any more ). So if I want one, I've got to pay for it myself at a private hospital and she thinks it's between £150-180!!!!! How unfair is that. A nearby health area does give them. I really think - we all pay taxes for the NHS, why the hell don't we get the same service offered? It's crap. I can have an amnio if I want, but a) I don't because of the risk of mc and b) you can't have it till about 16 weeks anyway IIRC. I thought that was the whole point of nuchal, that if it gives bad news, you had the option of doing something about it earlier, and less traumatically.

Rant over. The midwife was lovely, so in some ways it's a shame she's pregnant as well, I'd guess about 5-6 months, and won't be seeing me through. She had a student mw in there too who was 12 weeks pg. What's the chances of that? Hormones everywhere.

I quite like the ginger biscuits line, Grotbags.

floozietoozie · 10/03/2010 21:43

Cross posted with about six people then.

Hermya, bit worried about the "double double" line... is that twins or quads?

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 21:50

Floozie I'm going with the fact that your anxiousness doubles and then doubles again during pregnancy.

AbFabT · 10/03/2010 22:01

floozie, thanks for the reassurance. I do know we are all different, but when everyone is reassuring those of you with sick symptoms that it's a good sign, it makes me think "aaargh, but what about me???"!!!
Sorry you aren't getting a free nuchal scan. It really does suck that the NHS isn't consistent throughout the country.

looby, can't choose your family, eh! Hope your mum mellows in time. Sorry you're getting such aggro.

Hope we can agree on a new thread title before we hit 1001! Do we want to be suggesting we double in anxiety? I don't! I want all sweet and happy vibes.

May I also suggest we keep the first post really short, as the way this forum works means we have to see the first post every time it rolls over to a new page.

I still like 10/10 because it's short and sweet, a cool date, a cool number, nice and round (like us!), and we all score ten out of ten for being so fabulous.

jennimoo · 11/03/2010 06:25

I like all the titles, but second AbFab on the super short first post!

Nymphadora · 11/03/2010 07:06

And correct spelling in the first post! I go on s long one and someone spelt something wrong on the first post which annoys me everytime despite the fact they later correct it. So baggsy NOT the first post cos if I'm on my phone there will be summat wrong!

Feeling a bit better today. Dh has told me to phone the hospital & if they don't know anything phone for a private one. I'm still put off the private place by it being so far away & going on my own.

Hopefully by the new thread everything will be happy again & I will have seen baby!

MummyLovesSadie · 11/03/2010 07:26

How about:

October 2010 babies - pumpkin smugglers form an orderly queue.

Hermya321 · 11/03/2010 07:33

Ooooooo Mummylovessadie I like that one!!!

Nymph I'm glad you're feeling a lot better!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 11/03/2010 08:10

I like the sound of being a 10/10er!
how about; 10/10ers - armed with gingernuts and are not afraid to use them!

or similar...thus was never my strong pont!

10 weeks today hurrah!

Redheadgal · 11/03/2010 08:15

Nymph ditto Hermya - glad you're feeling better.

Floozie - that's really rubbish re the nuchal scan. Can't believe the NHS inequality in this country.

My vote is for 10/10 or the cauldron cooking one

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 11/03/2010 08:36

hadn't clocked the over use of ! in my last post. It reads like I'm an overexcited teenager, unfortunately I'm not

KSal · 11/03/2010 08:56

finally got a date for my scan - 7th April, so that is 4 whole weeks away, which is right i guess for a standard scan... just such a long time to wait to find out if things are ok.

why is it so hard to assume that things are fine, when i am getting nausea and extreme tiredness? last time i only had the tiredness to go on and i'm sure i didn't find it that hard!!

and by the way AbFabT, i echo what others have said - i literally had zero sickness last time not even a faint feeling of it.... best thing to do is count yourself lucky i reckon, its no indication of a problem... but i do understand that it would be nice to have some more positive confirmation that things were happening.

have a problem in that the scan date is the same day as we have scheduled a double baby shower at work... how am i going to explain i can't come..? arg!

Vikks · 11/03/2010 11:03

Hi everyone!
Super quick post, I?m snowed under with work and I hardly have time to keep up with your posts!
I?ve had my second scan this morning and I just wanted to share my excitement. I?m really starting to feel like everything is going to be ok. The baby looked perfect (to me anyway through the grainy picture) and was moving around! So cute! I could make out arms and the head was clear. I?m 9+1 today and the baby is the right size. I can?t believe how amazing I feel, I hope you all get your scans soon so you can feel this relief.
I?ll try and post more later?

I like the pumpkin smugglers thread title and the 10/10 one.

loueytbg · 11/03/2010 11:12

I like the cauldron analogy because we can keep that one going for a while and its a different idea to that used on the other due date threads. Good idea to keep the first post short, but whoever posts second, can they paste in the list of due dates from this thread so we don't lose it.

Nymph hope you get a scan today. The longer it goes on without getting worse, the more likely it is to just be growing pains. But I think you need to know otherwise you will drive yourself up the wall worrying.

KSal waiting for the first scan is agony and I was also v sick and tired so know how you feel.

floozie its crap isn't it. You would think that all health authorities should be offering it by now. Last time I had to go private because our hospital didn't do it, despite one a few miles away offering it for free. Not only was it expensive, but because it was twins we got charged even more .

ILookLikeGrotbagstoday if you hadn't already taken a simlar nickname, I would have renamed myself IFeelLikeGrotbagstoday - I just want to go to bed......zzzzzzzz

On the plus side, symptoms coming back with a vengeance means growing bean.
