Come in, come in to the new haven for diffed BESHies. I think a group effort is needed here (and I'm being a lazy preggo), so please add to the deli whatever you crave/love/can stomach.

Nominations are also open for sexy fathers we can hijack to serve our mouldy cheese and cured ham

And the best mocktail recipe wins...well, bugger all to be honest

ski re riding - it's simple. You go with what you feel. Only you know what your body feels happy with and you know your pony best, so go with your instincts and to hell with anyone else. It's YOUR body, YOUR baby and YOUR pony.

But I wouldn't smoke, personally . Says me, who is having the odd drink and so on. Choice is yours - you know the risks.

skihorse · 18/01/2010 11:34

cunty Because having had serious weight issues in the past I am not going to let myself blow up like a fucking balloon until I'm sat on the balcony in July sweating rivers down my muumuu.

carrots No, I'm not smoking and I'm not a drinker - but I do plan to jiggle my uterus with a bit of galloping and maybe a sneaky pop over a log if nobody's watching!

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 11:35

Yay for rots

I is not weighing self cunty I does not wish to know...

Aussieng · 18/01/2010 11:39

Carrots congrats on the nuchal result - it's a huge relief isn't it? To answer your question I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and am expecting the glow and the energy boost to hit me any day now (the only things glowing on me at the moment are the white circles under my eyes, the huge red zit on my chin and the really odd rash all over my breasts and tummy.

I'll admit to compulsive weighing I'm currently minus 7lbs, work trousers fit comfortably (having been tight for months) and the only "bump" I have is a little lump of constipation... I know I should chill - I can afford to lose it and the baby was measuring fine at the scan last week which is all that matters. Isn't it?

Ski I am really glad that your meds kicked in for you. Wanna share?????

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 11:41

aussie ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pandora69 · 18/01/2010 11:41

Carrots, I am unofficially 7+3 - will not believe it until I see a baby waving at me from a sonographer's screen. It is perfectly possible that the hunger, tiredness, flappy knees (interesting symptom - your knees go flappy when skiing due to loosening ligaments,) and 6 positive POASs are all wrong, so I am not yelling about it yet. I couldn't resist making a little comment though whenever I see talk of neddies.

I agree with you though about getting off to give birth. Very poncey. I may try staying on the horse this time, although it could be tricky to stay on if they have to do an emcs again

Skihorse, totally see where you are coming from wrt the SH thread. There are some plonkers there! Get back on your horse when you feel ready. Or there is always the fun to be had by lecturing teenage girls sternly about how to ride your horse for you .

CUNTues Why wouldn't you weigh yourself? You can then tell childless but newly pregnant women 'I put on 12 whole stone while I was pregnant!' and watch their jaw drop Or alternatively annoy people by going on about how you always lose weight in the first trimester, so it balances out in the end and you are back in pre-preg jeans 3 days after popping. It's all part of the fun!

skihorse · 18/01/2010 11:51

Aussieng What? I ain't got no meds foo'!

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 11:53

I has had a thought....

Dannii Minogue is having a baby in July... Poss in England?

Whaddaya reckon it will be in same hosp as me?

skihorse · 18/01/2010 11:56

iggy I dare you to get a photo of her when she's in labour... I wonder if that face moves!

CurlyCasper · 18/01/2010 12:04

I think it would be good if the five of us due in the same week could all book into iggys hossie and bunk up with her and the the Minogue. I can see the photos (and the income £££££££) now....

Still think it's amazing that five of us could (but probably won't) have babies over the same 2-3 days period, with all these July 20-23 EDDs.

pandora do the BESHes (official thread TM) know you are diffed?

OP posts:
skihorse · 18/01/2010 12:24

I still think it's funny that we all conceived around or about Halloween.

iggy will you be informing almost everyone you know that your baby was born at X? e.g., Mr & Mrs iggypiggy are delighted to announce the engagement of Piggy Jr (born at the ...) and Lady Iglet"?

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 12:40

I can assure you it was 27th October, in the morning - of that I am certain

ski no... think no to announcement...

CUNextTuesday · 18/01/2010 12:41

But but ski - if you find yourself putting on loads of weight (i.e. it's a boy) what are you going to do about it? Go on a diet? Cut out choc and cheese? - in which case why would you be eating choc and cheese in the first place knowing you may have to stop anyway?

I would qualify this by saying that I'm not one to watch what I eat, and I don't own a pair of scales, but if you eat healthily, in moderation and don't overindulge in the bad stuff (i.e. like you do when you are not pregnant)why pile loads of pressure on yourself to maintain some sort of 'ideal weight' which is incredibly arbitary anyway? If you know that you are prone to harbouring a pound or two extra, eat defensively and you know then that whatever you put on you put on, and it's all to do with the pregnancy.

It's not like you can control how much fluid and baby there is and if you're not eating a trolley-full of lard every day why beat yourself up over your weight? It's sure to be one of the most soul-destroying and spirit-crushing activities of your life. If you don't put on weight will you congratulate yourself or worry yourself sick? Go with the flow woman, move as you know. Also jam the mic up and rock the disco.

givecarrotsachance · 18/01/2010 12:55

cunty love ya honey but that post is deserving of a big fat hairy smack.

For those of us who DO watch what we eat, ie I look carefully at the chocolate and cake before I stuff myself with it, and those of us who are prone to putting on a pound or 12, the problem is that when getting bigger with baby, judging whether one's weight is healthy or not is REALLY hard. I'm really bad at judging it and can easily just throw on 1/2 a stone and then REALLY struggle to lose it. That's when I'm eating normally and can have some chance of judging things by my waistband.

It's true that noone should be beating themselves up over a few pounds here or there, but I started as a size 12/14 when I became pregnant with LC. I started this pregnancy as a size 16. LC is 5 years old and the extra couple of dress sizes was entirely due to the pregnancy and I just haven't lost it. I am so determined not to do that again that this time I'm trying really hard to do things right.

I do eat healthily, despite the choc and cake comment. But I do eat too much. I don't exercise enough even though I exercise a lot. Clearly these two things are self evident as otherwise I would be slim.

For some it's more of a battle than others. Food and laziness is my poison and therefore I have mucho and enormouso admiration for those like ski who ditch the cancer sticks at any time - I've never fallen foul of the foul things, but I understand the need and desire. "Just eating sensibly and moving more" is sooooo obviously the right thing. As is "just throwing away the pack of fags".

skihorse · 18/01/2010 13:02

The thing is, I haven't started this game at 7 stone. I could quite happily not put on a pound this entire pregnancy and still be a "fatty"... Whilst I'm happy to put on baby/amniotic fluid/placenta weight - there is no excuse for my calves expanding an inch for example.

Bessie123 · 18/01/2010 13:25

Skihorse (yes, I've been snooping on your thread) when I was updiffed with dd I put on loads of inches everywhere, all fluid retention. My face looked like shrek's and my hands and feet were like paws. So there's a nice cheery story.

skihorse · 18/01/2010 13:27

Bessie You turned green? Hands like paws is quite sweet though... did you get fur between your pads?

Bessie123 · 18/01/2010 13:30

Well green and furry or not, it couldn't have looked any more ugly. It was proper grim and I put on 3 stone while I was pregnant, then another half a stone afterwards when I was breastfeeding. But when I stopped breastfeeding the weight all dropped off apart from the last half a stone. I could have dieted but couldn't be bothered although I did have to watch what I was eating a bit for a month or so. So dig in, this is the time when it doesn't matter how much you eat (caveat dd weighed nearly 10lb when she was born, probably as a result of my eating whole boxes of chocolates and sweets in one sitting)

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 13:35

Thats wierd Bessie you always read about people losing weight while breastfeeding - but good that it all dropped off after... mine won't I will be a heiffer... I can feel it..

skihorse · 18/01/2010 13:39

Yeh but at least you're married already iggy, Mr piggy can't do a runner! The rest of us are unmarried harlots! (obv. not all of us)

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 13:40

True - plus I can sit on him with my vast bulk to stop him running away...

Bessie123 · 18/01/2010 13:41

iggy I think if you are breastfeeding constantly or if you are the sort of person who watches their weight all the time you probably won't put on weight. But if you eat whenever you feel like it it is really easy to put on weight because you crave sugary foods to keep your energy up. I ate all sorts of disgusting things like banoffee pie, constantly. Bleurgh.

iggypiggy · 18/01/2010 13:44

I love banoffee pie.. it is one of my favourite things..

So how you feeling Beshie ??

givecarrotsachance · 18/01/2010 13:48

LOL iggy don't you believe it.

I exclusively BF LC (other than a few days as before when ONE feed was a bottle) for about 5 months, then very slowly introduced other foods over the next 6 months, with most of his fluid intake from me, and eventually completely weened at 15 months. He was with me in the office at least 1/2 the day until he was about 18 months old so I was BF him a lot. Made bugger all difference to my weight and I was eating healthily.

Maybe I was unlucky, maybe I was just an ignorant cow who thought that fruit and veg came in sweetie packets. Just don't rely on it.

Bessie123 · 18/01/2010 13:50

I'm feeling VERY excited. But it's so early, I guess (hope) symptoms will kick in soon...
