LolaAnn, I am showing a bit (13 weeks tomorrow) but the first time I was pg I didn't show until a bit later, maybe 15 weeks or so (can't remember for certain but it was later). I think that is normal, because you haven't had all the muscles stretched out by a previous massive bump.

I am of those who still have abs - I recall my misguided belief that mine would spring back post-partum because they were reasonably strong to start with. Not a hope! I look at some mums with tiny little waists and tight stomachs and just wonder how they did it. Console myself by remembering that probably they didn't have the World's Tallest Baby in there, though

Pamelat - can't believe you don't have a scan date yet . Can you call your midwife at all and see what's going on?

Betty - Wow! Sounds like a fab scan, congratulations Can't believe one of us knows what they're having already!

Re bumps: I have a bump already but only I can tell I think - I'm overweight anyway so it just looks my belly has got even bigger but I can feel the bump shape underneath IYSWIM. I keep wondering if I can feel movements as well - I felt them quite early with DD so I wouldn't be too surprised.

bumps- no in the morning, but massive at the end of the day! Definitely 'popped out' last week: 2nd PG and all

LolaAnn, the first abdominal scans can be uncomfortable if you're overweight because the sonographer has to press very very hard to see the baby.

Sassles, it shouldn't be as bad for the 20 week scan. I'm going to be under consultant led care too, it's shit that things like waterbirth are ruled out. You may have to fight to ensure you aren't made to labour flat on your back with an internal monitor like I was last time - ensure they have a valid reason for constant monitoring, and not just because they can't be arsed to listen intermittently with a handheld doppler.

I was lying very still in bed last night and could feel that "pulse" again, but it wasn't in a rhythm, it was all over the place, sometimes more noticeable than others. It was really really low down at the front so I spose it's possible it is flutterings? Seems so early though! (11 weeks tomorrow) I guess time will tell. It'd be lovely if it was!

James that is so cool that you can feel something!! I still have to remind myself that the scan showed a baby in there so there is one there!!

I told my family back in NZ and everyone is so excited which makes me feel much better about this pg having so much support even if it is very far away. Have started looking into flights to go home but they arent cheap enough yet.

Also I plan on going 1 month 20 days before baby is due, when do you think the latest time my hubby should come over is?? 2 weeks? 1 week? I know its cutting it fine but financially necessary...

Morning all still feeling quite rough with this cough/cold thing on top of the MS.

LolaAnn - many airlines will not allow you to fly after 28 weeks, I think after this time you need a medical cert from the doctor, also in my mind 33 weeks is the cut off but I could be wrong, it might be worth checking early.

I look about 5 months gone already but have done since about 7 weeks, think my stomach muscles well and truly knackered.

oh god sweetkitty I am going to investigate it right now. In my mind it was 36 weeks. But what I am most concerned about is when is the last possible moment to risk hubby flying over.. really don't want to have baby without him!!

LolaAnn Had my first pregnancy worked out okay, we would have been flying on our honeymoon with me being at 31 - 34 weeks, with 34 weeks being the absolute cut-off point that I would have been allowed to fly.

Anything after 28 weeks and you need a doctor's certificate, but my doctor was quite relaxed at the prospect of having to sign me through.

Oh, and forgot to add, I had my booking in appointment this morning and the midwife said that as I appear to be low risk, she doesn't really want to refer me for a 12 week scan, as I had one at eight weeks. Grrrrr. So I'm going to have a private one instead as I don't want to have to wait until 7th Jan for my anomaly one.

OK I have been researching and made a big table of different airlines. I will put it online soon because sure it could be helpful to others but basically the gist of it is on 99% of airlines you can fly as normal till 28weeks then up till 34 or 36 weeks you need a medical certificate from your dr.

Viv..that sucks that they wont refer you for a 12 week scan..same thing happened with DS2 I was scanned at 6 weeks and then told I would get nothing until 20 weeks

I dont feel as sick today..Ive just eaten some porridge..and I seem to have a bit more energy..dare I hope that MS is on its way out

VivClicquot...I also had 8 week scan but have still been referred for 12 week scan (next Wed!) even though I am classed as low risk. Think you should query this??

ml..I'm envious re MS. Keep thinking mine is going then it comes back with a vengence!

Still trying to keep this quiet at work but it's getting increasingly difficult. Hope that I can go public after scan next week

Hi everyone. Had scan this morning: all well, heard heartbeat. Little alien was looking very chilled, floating around on its back and waving arms, conducting an imaginary orchestra . DH quite blown away by it. Massive relief! Have shifted me a couple of days forwards - I am 12+6 today.
