Welcome to our lovely new home

Gonna start the list again so it is more accurate, hope that's ok!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HeffaMerryChristmas · 07/12/2009 21:58

BRB - I've been assured by loads of people that the vaccine (Pandemrix at least) will grant the baby immunity.

itshappenedagain - I know what you mean about losing appetite. Sometimes I've ravenous but a lot of the time I don't want anything at all to eat.

ForcesSweetheart - sorry you've been feeling so ill I hope you get a good rest this week and start to feel better soon.

MoggMum · 07/12/2009 22:30

Viv how lovely to hear from you. Glad you had such a lovely time and you look stunning in the photos. Made my eyes go all watery! Hope all goes well tomorrow xx

LuckyC · 08/12/2009 09:46

Viv - you look SO stunning in your dress. Glad you had such a gorgeous time. Thanks for coming to see us - hope to see you popping back in here soon.

wibblela · 08/12/2009 10:11

Hi Everyone (c:

Am knackered today - went to a friend's for dinner last night, and consequently had a late night. I am so glad that I don't work! Could lie in a bit

It's rough that we're starting to feel bad again - can't we just feel good about being pg for a while!

I'm at people having their 20 week scans already - I have to wait until 5 Jan for mine (almost 22 weeks) - sonographer wants me to be bigger than normal to ensure that baby is visible so that I won't have to drink too much - have continence issues! Hope the scans go well (c:

Viv So for you! Hope ceremony went as well as can be expected. But at same time, congratulations on wedding and honeymoon!

Hollyoaks · 08/12/2009 10:48

Viv really good to hear from you, beautiful dress, beautiful shoes and a beautiful name (we're thinking about Grace if we have a girl). Will be thinking of you today and the service, hope the day is as peaceful for you as possible and I hope the baby garden is a happy place for you to visit. We visit my nephews garden regularly and its always full of toys, trinkets, wind chimes, windmills and teddybears etc... I hope you and your dh are getting the support you need and 2010 is a good year for you.

On weight gain - I'm still about half a stone lighter than before I got pg but slowly regaining the weight as my appetite returns.

Baby movements - none yet but only 15+1. Its frustrating being at the end of the list.

16 week mw appointment is next week, did they listen for the heartbeat at that appointment, can't remember with dd. Looking forward to it even though she'll be taking blood.

memorylapse · 08/12/2009 12:27

wibbela..look at this way..you have something lovely to look forward to after christmas

Hollyoaks..I think it depends on the MW if they will listen in, mine have been listening in since 13 weeks..but some dont like to until 20 weeks..you can always ask

wibblela · 08/12/2009 12:44

memorylapse that's a good way of looking at it - another present (I think I am a big kid really)

Hollyoaks MW listened to hb at 14 weeks with me - called it reassurance! Really nice to hear it, and it wasn't as fast as I thought it would be, although it defo wasn't my hb! Maybe the baby is just well chilled out, enjoying it's time in there

Hobnobfanatic · 08/12/2009 13:08

Hollyoaks, I'm top of the list and have felt no movements! I'm 18 weeks now - but mw said not to worry until 20, even though it's my second.

BRB - did you have the Celvapan in the end? I'm just back from my 40-mile round trip for the first jab.... I'm relieved, actually, and can't wait for the second and there are so many horror stories of SF and pregnancy at the mo.

Sweetpeasmum · 08/12/2009 14:20

Afternoon all,

Great pics Viv, I hope 2010 is lucky for you.

I've just had my 16 week MW appointment, they listened to the heart beat which they found straight away. It was pretty clear too. I'm starting to feel "bubbles popping" but haven't had any movements that I would put down as kicks yet. I was asked about the SF vacc but I'm still avoiding that decision at the moment.

My 20 week scan isn't until 8 Jan so I'm liking the idea of another present. Definately something to look forward to in the New Year.

I have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow so I'll find out what my options are for the birth. I'm still undecided over what I would prefer, I like the thought of spontaneous labour as you know the baby is ready but, having had an Em CS last time, if I have to have an operation I'd like to be in control and conscious this time!

Weight gain seems to vary so much between individual, doesn't it? I've put on 8 pounds so far and I'm sure it won't stop there!

Hope everyone is keeping well.

RnB · 08/12/2009 14:34

Hi, just popping over from June09 (have actually discovered am due on 31st May, but have been on the June board from the beginning) and wanted to say:

WOW Viv you look amazing on your wedding day - congratulations to you and your dh!

And huge congrats to Suey on your good news!

RacquelWelsh · 08/12/2009 17:21

Hi everyone

Viv I loved your photos, wishing you all the best for 2010.

Great to hear what everyone else is up to and news about scans and movements. I?m 16+2 today, no bubbling or movement yet. I had the swine flu jab (pandemrix) 3 weeks ago and apart from a sore arm had no side effects. I had my (nearly) 16 week scan last week and heard baby?s heartbeat which was brilliant and have the 20 week scan on the 4th Jan. Like others, it?s something to look forward to after Christmas.

On the weight gain front, I?ve put on 8lbs and finally gave up any hope of wearing my normal jeans yesterday. I?ve stopped falling asleep at 7pm and eating everything in sight but have really got motivated to get the inside of the house decorated.

Have only thrown a few hissy fits, things that would?ve passed me by before have really upset me and I?ve had to have a mince pie and light the fire to get a grip!

Me and DH are visiting all our family down South next week so we can be back here for our last quiet Christmas alone.

Tinylion ? I laughed at your post ? I feel the same way, 16 weeks going on 6 months (maybe because now I?ve stopped holding my belly in?!)

Hope you?re all doing alright, I?m really glad to have found this group

brightredballoon · 08/12/2009 18:46

Sweatpeasmum did you have a GA for your EMCS? I think we spoke about elective cs or VBAC earlier in the thread. I was unsure for a time but am 100% sure that an elective is the right thing for me. My experience with DC2 - the panic, the being unconscious when he was born etc really knocked me for six and looking back I think it gave me PND (I didn't go to the doctor but spent/spend a lot of time in tears about it all). So, for me having an elective is a positive thing, I am really looking forward to the birth now instead of being so scared similar will happen to my last experience. I know a CS is without risk but I would rather have that than an emergency one.

Hobnob can you believe it I turned up for my jab at 4pm today only to be told the nurse hadn't been told I was there for the Celvapen and since she didn't have anyone else booked in for it she wouldnt open the vial as it has to be used with 3 hours! She offered me pandemrix but I declined. I have my 20wk scan tomorrow so will discuss with anyone who is there and then phone up to make another appointment. I did want to get it over and done with so am disappointed I couldn't get the first jab today.

Heffa thanks for the bit about the vaccine providing some immunity, the nurse explained this afternoon that it is thought the baby will get the antibodies that we will produce after having the vaccine. She also said I could still get Swine Flu after having the vaccine but that it would be a far more mild case - honestly I am so confused every time I go to my surgery

Girls, I am so nervous about my scan tomorrow. I have felt some movement but its not consistent and I really hardly feel anything at all. I have a bit of a bump but noone at work has guessed and I finish up in 3 weeks! (I am using all my holiday which is about 8wks then starting mat leave from about 32wks) that's probably why I also worry things wont be ok because I am going off on leave so early but theres so much I would like to get done around the house and get the bathroom refitted etc that the couple of days a week I wont be working (and DD and DS will still go to the childminder for two mornings a week).

Has everyone put their decorations up yet? We just use fake trees so put ours up at the weekend, its lovely being in a twinkly lit house

memorylapse · 08/12/2009 19:13

BRB- they will all have a shock at work when you announce you are leaving!

we dont have our decs up yet..I usually put them up by now but we asre more absorbed in house moving plans..however DH is bringing a real tree home tonight so hopefully we can decorate it tomorrow evening

HeffaMerryChristmas · 08/12/2009 20:19

BRB - didn't know you could still get swine flu after the vaccine! I know that you're not immune for a while afterwards (can't remember how long they said - a couple of weeks at least I think) but I'd be immune after that. The information is really confusing I just felt in the end that the risks of getting SF in pregnancy outweighed the potential risks of the untested vaccine. All the medical people I know are getting it, which made me feel a bit happier about it. I'm still worrying about whether it was the right choice though!

Racquel - mince pie and fire sounds good! Glad you're doing OK and had a good scan

Sweetpeasmum - good luck for your consultant appt tomorrow!

sweetkitty · 08/12/2009 21:24

hi ladies just trying to catch up with everything and everyone

Viv - you looked stunning, glad you enjoyed yourself. Your post made me cry a little you sound so positive despite everything. So nice you named your LO and are having a little service for her. Like the others I hope 2010 is a better year for you both, and please drop in from time to time.

Brightred - I feel the exact same, DD2 and 3 were battering me by this stage, I get the odd flutters but nothing like before. I am getting worried as well, could it just be position of the placenta??? I'm usually a size 8 so can't blame it on padding. Am also very of your scan, where are you having it? We are going private again probably in a few weeks. I have my usual little high up bump, having quite a few comments too.

Racquel - don't think I have said welcome to you, I didn't feel my first baby move to about 22 weeks was really worried but it's quite common with a first.

RnB - hello your welcome to dip your toe in here now and again

ML - your landlord is such a b how could anyone think a big family with DC could move out by Christmas is he mad? Hope you are feeling better today.

Not much to report here, arm better from SF vaccine, SPD isn't that bad if it would stay like this it would be fine, am taking it SO easy with walking etc. I remember last time having such a bad time about 25 weeks thinking there was no way I could go another 15 weeks in that amount of pain, remember sobbing my eyes out for days over it still last time ever (SK mantra)

itshappenedagain · 08/12/2009 21:34

hi all

brb- ive had my tree up since sat when my friend took me and Ds to get a real one, my son calls the living room the christmas room as its all nicely decorated and very festive!

have told a few more people today, most were shocked, mainly due to the circumstances again, and i did have some arkward questions but hey...my decision.

my mum has come around and is trying to get the day off work to come to my next sacn with me on 30th, will be taking my son whatever happens so he can see baby and so it becomes more real.

have a MW appointment on thirs morn so am looking forward to hearing baby again...have to keep going back due the bleeding, which seems to have stopped at last, although iron levels are very low and will have to be put on some sort of suppliment...anyone have any good suggestions as ferrus sulphate causes awful constipation!

TinyVeins · 08/12/2009 22:21

Hi all, just catching up a bit.

No decorations in our house yet as we always wait until after DH's birthday. As we're away over the holidays we might get a plastic tree, although I do love the real ones.

No bubbles or other signs at this end either (17+5) but MW said not to expect anything for a few weeks yet. I think it was lying sideways last night though, very odd!

A colleague at work said "hello tubby" today and then proceeded to rub my bump. I thought she said "hello tummy" which wouldn't have been so bad, but tubby?! I'm a non-pregnant size 6-8 and have only gained 1kg and true, it is all bump and boobs but really?

Anyone else finding their bump becoming public property?

memorylapse · 08/12/2009 22:41

tinyveins..I hate having my bump touched unsolicited..its happening already Im considering having a "hands off!" sign put on my top.

Im 19 weeks today..half way through

LittleOneMum · 09/12/2009 09:19

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to repeat the message that if anyone is still thinking about the SF vaccine - you CAN demand the Celvapan one if you want. I am having it on Friday, after the Dept of Health changed their minds and decided that pg women who request it can have it. So just ask! Will report back on sore arms etc. x

AnAngelWithin · 09/12/2009 09:36

hi ladies. Hope you don't mind i started a new thread, my computer can't manage this one and it will run out soon anyway as its closing in on 1000 posts!!

new thread

memorylapse · 09/12/2009 12:07

thanks Angel..will pop over to the new thread

TinyVeins · 10/12/2009 09:41

Thanks memorylapse. Any ideas where I can get a 'hands off my bump' t-shirt?!

Also struggling to find over-the-bump straight leg jeans. They all seem to be under-the-bump and that's jssut too uncomfortable with denim.

I think it took my arm about 5 days to stop being sore LitteOneMum so good luck with the jab. Hope it will be less sore for you with Celvapan?

ForcesSweetheart · 10/12/2009 13:17

tinyveins I got a Hands off the bump t-shirt in New Look a few weeks ago (havne't worn it yet tho)! hth

My bump is gigantic - largely i think because I have always carried all my weight on my tummy so there's still a couple of stone of fat there that bump is just pushing out. Am starting to struggle to fit behind wheel of car as I only have short little legs to reach the pedals! Have warned my boss she may need to relocate me soon to an office I can reach by public transport - my current one I can't. I asked a sales asst in Salisbury's big Next last week if they had a maternity dept - she said they didn't but asked when I was due. When I told her she looked shocked. I said, "I know - and there's definitely only one in there"- she said, "are you sure there isn't another hiding behind it?? That's quite a bump!".

20wk scan on scan on Tuesday - think am gonna give in to hubby and find out sex, against my own urges, as he reckons he needs the time to get his head around it if it's going to be a boy! I can kinda understand that as I felt same first time around, but as I've now got my wee girl I really don't mind this time.
