Hey everyone! Hope you're all well. I've missed basically the entire second thread because I was feeling so very rough that actually focusing on anything specifically pregnancy-related made me want to puke. Was also getting paranoid as a result of reading all the worried posts about bleeds etc a while back, so decided to take a back seat for a while.

However, things seem to be settling down now at last and I had a scan on Friday all seems fine I am still worried, can't seem to shake that, but much happier than before and looking forward to reading all I've missed since thread 1.

Adding myself with slightly adjusted date to list:

30ish · 26/10/2009 12:46

Hi everyone!

I'm having a well earned week on the
sofa!

Anyone started to think about the birth yet? I had a tough time with my first, ending in an emcs. Currently feeling very brave and want a vbac, although this might
change.

Anyone had a vbac?

I can already feel the baby moving
(i promise it isn't wind) so think they will move my date at my scan next Monday!

pamelat · 26/10/2009 12:48

I got a letter this morning, peered through and could see my doctors name, got excited that it was my scan (and that for some odd reason they were mentioning my GP?!) but instead it was an invite for the swine flu vaccination, what a disappointment.

DorotheaPlentighoul · 26/10/2009 13:04

30ish, I am in the same situation and currently leaning towards asking for an elective CS, but I do have doubts. Problem is, I can't shake the feeling that even if I aim for a VBAC, the anxiety about it all going the same way as last time will dominate my feelings about the birth and dent my confidence in being "able" to do it. It feels like a choice between another emcs and an elective, even though I know that is defeatist thinking.

memorylapse · 26/10/2009 13:48

Afternoon everyone...I have started to feel very delicate flutters low down in my tummy..like gentle taps....Im suddenly aware of a teeny, tiny bump..last night I woke to find I had rolled onto my tummy and it felt uncomfortable so I turned on my side.
Cant wear my jeans as the waistband seems to be digging in despite losing a stone...still feel horribly anxious about the baby..because I do know that if the clot doesnt go by 20 weeks, then its not a good thing as im at risk of placental abruption..at the moment im just taking everything a day at a time, might invest in some looser trousers after hearing the heartbeat next week at the midwives.

love the thread title..If you open my freezer it contains nothing but packets of crumpets...still feeling sick

LittleOneMum · 26/10/2009 13:52

Hello!

All this nub theory thing has confused me no end. When I went for my 12 week scan last time, they immediately asked if I wanted to know the sex and told me straight away that it was 70% chance of a boy, and it was right. Had assumed this always happened!

viv so glad the dress fit!

ForcesSweetheart · 26/10/2009 13:53

Hi everyone. Once again I am having to apologise for not even remotely keeping up with the thread. It's been a helluva week. On Thursday morning on my way to a meeting I had a really bad car crash on the A303. Thankfully I was in the car alone, and by some miracle no other cars were involved (just me a road sign and the central reservation) - had just dropped DD at nursery - and although my car is a write off I escaped with just cuts/bruises and a very sore neck and knee. The hospital are confident the bump is fine (probably due to the amount of padding I carry in the tummy area!) as I've had no cramping or bleeding - they said I didn't need a scan to check as baba's still so far inside the pelvis at this stage that it's well protected. I'm going to be off work sick this week to rest up so I promise to try and get caught up on the thread rather than vegging out with daytime TV all week. Hope everyone's keeping OK. Lis x

ForcesSweetheart · 26/10/2009 13:53

I think I can feel the baby too at night when I'm lying down all still

Changed my scan date from this Friday to next Monday, also means I will only have DD3 with me as well, I'm also very anxious I don't know why, I think I am feeling flutters and I had a good 9 week scan but still.

DD1 told me this morning that I have a little baby in my tummy as I have a little bump I think it's this top I wore it all throughout my pregnancy last time even though it's not a maternity top but it comes in tight under boobs then flares out again.

Feeling dog rough as usual was mega sick this morning, think it was a coughing fit though. I cough so hard I be sick oh and pee myself sometimes too so have to make sure I go to the toilet regularly, must do more pelvic floors.

As for the birth MW is oohing and ahhing about another HB, I am anxious about another fast labour, part of me thinks an induction at 39-40 weeks would actually be better, given that I will probably be in agony by then, I'm terrified of going into labour like now the afternoon, DDs all around, no DP and it being fast DP works 45 mins away. Anyway think about it next year.

ML - I know you are worried but the sonographer said the clot is tiny now didn't she? Chances are it will go away, 20 weeks is only 8 weeks away now, I think you will do fine.

Dorothea - welcome back and great news on the scan

Moggmum - hello and welcome

Viv - great news about the dress, you won't really put on much weight in the next few weeks, you must be SO excited

Anangelwithin - I think that every day ANOTHER ONE??!! I did the beds this morning as well rare burst of energy, the house is a bit minging at the moment as I have not energy to get anything done, DP did promise me that we could get a cleaner when I get too big and sore, wonder if he has forgotten??

Sorry to anyone I have missed am off to lie down before school run x

AnAngelWithin · 26/10/2009 14:11

ah forcessweetheart are you ok bless ya. i bet that shook you. Glad you got checked out x

sweetkitty · 26/10/2009 14:17

x-posted with you Forces, poor you what a shock but they are right about the baby being well protected, put your feet up a lot of rest is now required

memorylapse · 26/10/2009 14:22

dont be anxious SK easier said than done I know..the fact that you feel like poop is a good sign
Forces Sweetheart..how frightening for you..I hope you are ok..take it easy
Viv..great news about the dress

VivClicquot · 26/10/2009 14:51

Well, I called the hospital and as I feared, they are refusing to give me a dating scan as I've already had two scans at the EPU.

I explained how anxious I was, given that my last pregnancy resulted in a mmc and also that I'm still bleeding from time to time, but all they said was that I can only have a scan if I get a referral, so i need to push my midwife for one at my booking in appointment on Wednesday. What a faff!

ForcesSweetheart - glad you're okay. Must have been quite a scare for you all x

tiggsy · 26/10/2009 15:00

Hello all. Only been off for about a week but have missed so much! anyway no great shock but i have hypermesis again so things have been pretty tough going. On cyclizine, which has reduced vomiting to just the morning but leaves me feeling like a zombie all day

Sassles · 26/10/2009 15:24

Hi All,

I was on the original thread, but started to get really anxious, so been away until today. Had my first scan 12 + 2 with my due date being bang on what I thought it was.

Was AMAZING to see a proper wee baby, waving arms and legs about. I was a bit worried (irrationally) that there was nothing there. Got blood tests on Wed morn.

I am quite a bit overweight, so don't know if that made a difference, but the scan was quite sore. Anyone else agree or am I a bit of a woose? The doc had to press down pretty hard twice to get a clear picture and was not pleasant with a full bladder, but sure it was nothing with what is to come.

welcome back Sassles

Tiggsy..You have my sympathy..I have hyperemesis and have cyclizine but for me it seems to work only sporadically so Ive stopped taking it..Im a day off 13 weeks and still being sick

Hollyoaks · 26/10/2009 15:55

FS glad to hear that your ok, that must have really shook you up. I know since dh's crash last week he has started to feel really sore around the area his seat belt was. The gp prescribed him codeine but he hasn't taken them yet. It might be worth you seeing the gp to get advice on painrelief as I'm not sure what you can take during pregnancy. Take it easy this week too as I know dh has had a couple of frightening moments and a nightmare. Don't want to worry you but it really is a shock to the system. Glad your dd wasn't in the car and the little one is safe.

Well, dn is being transferred from the inner city hospital she was born in to our local hospital this afternoon. She's only got her feeding tube in and needs to concentrate on getting bigger, she was 3lb 10oz born and went down to 3lb 2oz. Have had loads of fun buying premature baby clothes from mothercare, shes in one of the bigger sizes, up to 4lb's. Bless, when these babies come in May they're going to look like monsters.

pamelat · 26/10/2009 15:59

sounds very scary forcessweetheart, glad to hear you are ok.

On a much smaller scale, I managed to get an emergency dental appointment this afternoon. She took out my filling from 2 months ago (I had two done and thought the bottom one was causing all the problems, anyway after some "does this hurt" tapping, she only took out the top one" She re did it but said that she could see no reason for it to be hurting. I am now in agony (ok so I have a low pain threshold ) but its made me cry and have taken paracetamol. Has anyone got experience of ultra senstive teeth (not gums) in pregnancy?

Am thinking about seeing my GP tomorrow as dentist says no problem. Am I imagining it?!

tamuna · 26/10/2009 16:56

It's so great that many of you already had your scanning and feel more relaxed. I am really counting the days till November 9th, when I have mine. Do these 12 weeks scannings include Nuchal Translucency Screening? Or will I have seperate appointment for that?

tamuna..it really depends on the health authority..in most cases an NHS 12 week scan is merely to check dates...but others will check the nuchal measurement..when I had my hospital scan the other week..it was a quick check to make sure there was a heartbeat and to measure the baby..thats why I went for a private one

tamuna · 26/10/2009 17:33

memorylapse - I did not know that. I thought NT screening was part of the regular NHS 12 week scanning. So I can not get NT under NHS and should go for a private one?
As I mentioned before, I am new to the UK, so I am not really well aware of the systme.
