I totally believe that you can feel movement really early. I've had the same feeling of movement since 9 weeks (now 13+3) and it's just got stronger over the weeks, don't care what anyone says, I know it isn't wind!

For some reason I didn't get a NT at my scan (was 11+1). Had DD at Frimley Park in Surrey and they did NT, but Salisbury don't seem to. I already decided I wouldn't do anything with the information anyway so not gonna push for it.

Of on holiday on Saturday for a fortnight (Spain) and so looking forward to relaxing - even if I am a little at DH being able to take full advantage of the all-inclusive bar but hey ho - I'm sure I'll make up for it in food!

Den26 · 28/10/2009 19:38

Evening all, glad to hear scans going well of all you guys further on!!

betty your scan sounds funny!!!

lolann hope you have had no more fainting episodes

I had my booking in appointment with MW today - went very well, she is lovely and very spportive. She listened in with Doppler and even though i'm only 10 weeks i could hear the little heartbeat going really fast - it was amazing, never got this far with my previous pregnancy so was totally delighted!

She has sent for my dating scan but also told me to get in touch in meantime if i'm worried and she'll listen in again!

Was hugging the toilet bowl for first time this morning - feeling fine until i brushed my teeth - yuk

MinnieMummy · 28/10/2009 19:45

Adding myself - had a scan last week which adjusted the dates slightly. Good news: only one baby (sorry, but am fretting about how to cope with three, four would finish me off!) with a heartbeat, however they couldn't do the nuchal as it was just a few mm too small so I have to go back next week.

Found out this week that despite telling my mum not to tell anyone she told my SIL when I was just 7 weeks!! Grrr. Surely it's MY news anyway??! Am 12 weeks on Sunday but have been telling people this week as frankly I've got such a bump already the cat is really out of the bag!

Also meant to say earlier - BuongiornoPrincipessa I'm really close to you, about 20 mins away. I'd be happy to meet if my two don't put you off too much

Sassles · 28/10/2009 22:27

James.. Thanks for the consultant led unit advice. Will come in handy. Can't see me being shy about it, especially if in labour!!

I had blood tests today and my council are running a pilot/research thing on baby growth predicting. I get bump measured every 2 weeks with tape measure and personalised graph based on my height and weight to predict baby size. It means that I also get a growth scan at 32 & 36 weeks. That will be pretty crazy!!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 29/10/2009 08:13

Minniemummy - I hate it when people tell for you, my MIL does that.

Sassles - that pilot sounds great Lovely to have scans that late!

ForcesSweetheart - hope you have a fab time in Spain, I'm

AnAngelWithin · 29/10/2009 09:27

morning all. Hope you are well. I feel so far behind everyone being due at the end of the month!! Only 9+5 here

Still bleeding on and off.

FS enjoy your holiday. Am very

I have been plagued with headaches lately. Was on beta blockers for migraine prevention, I just came off them as soon as I found out i was pregnant. I think I need to go see the doctor about them sooner rather than later. Might try and get an appointment for monday when the kids are back at school.

MoggMum · 29/10/2009 09:51

Just changed my scan date to today!! Hope it's not too early (I'm 11+5) but nervous, excited and a bit scared now!!

ForcesSweetheart · 29/10/2009 10:07

Ladies I need ideas. It's DHs birthday tomorrow (41)and with the accident and all I haven't been out and about at shops to get him something from DD (3y9mo). Need ideas for something I can get him at short notice. I already got him his presents from me, took him shopping a few weeks ago for new clothes, but really want him to have something from DD (and bump) to open on the day. HELP!

LolaAnn · 29/10/2009 10:11

Good luck MoggMum let us know how it goes!!

AnAngelWithin you poor thing migraines are just awful, my mum has suffered for decades and just recently had botox for migraine prevention and she thinks it has made a difference. Not sure if this is an option or even safe in pg though..

Sassles wow lucky you!! What area are you in?

Den26 that sounds like a lovely booking appt and a great midwife lucky you!!!! And congrats of course

AnAngelWithin · 29/10/2009 10:12

good luck for today moggmum!

FS is he 'into' anything??

LolaAnn · 29/10/2009 10:13

Hmmm ForcesSweetheart hard to suggest without knowing your DH!! What about some nice treat to eat, something he really enjoys that he hasnt had in a while??

Or maybe a DVD to watch.. I'm assuming he is still recovering at home?

Ooops I just realised I'm not sure if it was you or DH that had the accident...

How about a book to read for your holiday? sorry all my suggestions are super naff...

Hollyoaks · 29/10/2009 10:21

Hi all, is the new MN bugging anyone else?

Good luck for your scan Mogg

Sassles & FS at extra scans and holidays.

10 weeks today!!! I'm actually starting to feel slightly more human with a little more energy, just feeling really uncomfy, especially at nights.

ForcesSweetheart · 29/10/2009 10:34

Thanks for the ideas folks. A book might be good. He's not really into much, except his computer - spends every free minute on ARRSE (ARmy Rumour SErvice - like mumsnet for squaddies).

Amending my due date on list as I just phoned hospital for 20 wk scan date and they said they have me down as EDD 4th May, not 3rd. 20 wk scan will be 15th Dec, which is cool coz my mum will be down visiting that week (mess xmas do is next day so she'll be here to babysit). She came to DD's 20 wk scan dressed from head to toe in baby pink (and she's a redhead - talk about clashing) in the hopes of influencing the outcome! This time I don't want to know the sex tho - altho she's desperate to know so she can start shopping!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 29/10/2009 11:19

Hey Sassles, the extra growth scans are fairly standard practise for high bmi ladies. They did several on me last time as they seemed convinced the baby would be huge, despite the fact that I didn't have gestational diabetes or anything else which should cause huge babies.

Didn't help that I had a stupid midwife who kept taking a fundal measurement (they use a tape measure to measure from the top of your womb to your pelvic bone) and not making allowances for my fat belly too - she kept going "ooh you're measuring 41 weeks, this is going to be a BIIIG baby" at like 33 weeks. In the end, my massive, huge baby was 7lb 2oz.

They're going to find I'm much less open to being poked and prodded unnecessarily this time around!

That little "pulse" in my belly was going crazy last night when I got in bed. It makes me smile to know it's dancing about.

Gils · 29/10/2009 12:34

Hi everyone

Wow another new thread, we move quickly. Still trying to catch up on everyones posts.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and very nervous. Have been so ill since Friday, sweats, shivers, sickness stomach cramps and headaches from hell. Sure everything is ok and just had bug but you can't help but have doubts.

I vaguely remember soeone talking on the previous thread about talking to their in law regarding swine flu jab as she worked in hospital. Did they come back, can't see post. Wonder if I'll be asked about it tomorrow?

pamelat · 29/10/2009 12:38

Hello, I'm fairly small (normally) almost 5ft 4 and about 9 stone ish. During my last pregnancy my tummy got very big and I went up to about 11.5 stone. My midwife kept saying to me that my baby would be a big one, and that if she was really big I would probably need c-section. My "big" baby was 7lbs.

I really dont think they should try to guess. It really scared me, was expecting 14lb child!

Am "off" today and having a bad day with DD. She has been really good of late but today she wont go in the car seat, wont eat her lunch, would not play at tumble tots (and seemed a bit overly clingy bless her) and now she wont go to bed. I really need her to have a nap.

Still no scan date, am 12 weeks 2 days. I think there is now a postal strike too. Would really like a scan date. Will call on Monday. We are away this weekend with friends with kids, they know, so it should take my mind off it.

pamelat · 29/10/2009 12:38

ps) i can not believe how pregnant I look at only 12 weeks!!

MoggMum · 29/10/2009 15:47

Scan was fab and 'Froglett' now looks like an actual baby rather than an amphibian! He/she was very active with arms & legs waving around all over the place. They gave me lots of photos too which was great.

Feel much more positive about things now and look forward to hearing about all your scans over the next few days/weeks

Hollyoaks · 29/10/2009 15:55

BuongiornoPrincipessa · 29/10/2009 17:14

Minniemummy it would be lovely to meet you at some point .

JamesAndTheGiantBanana I too am feeling the occasional pulse especially in the bath - its such a slight feeling though I keep thinking I imagined it.

Am hoping that my scan (a week on Saturday) will help convince me that I am in fact pregnant and haven't got some other strange disease - anyone else feel like this?

MinnieMummy · 29/10/2009 19:35

Buongiorno, not to sound like a stalker but I tried to CAT you and MN says you don't have that option! Are you on FB? If you search for 'July 2008 Mumsnet babies' I'm the creator of that group, please befriend me. Or CAT me

pamelat · 29/10/2009 20:51

Hello all, hope people are feeling less sick.

I have a scan date!! Next Weds 215pm. I called today because had not heard anything and was told my name was in a long list and no appointments for 3 weeks but that I would hear soon.

An hour later the lady called and said she had had a cancellation and could I make next Weds, could I !!!

Will be 13 weeks too so about right.

brightredballoon · 29/10/2009 21:54

Hi everyone

Not feeling great the past couple of days, can't quite put my finger on it but a bit off colour. Hope everyone else is feeling ok? I know there are a few bugs around at the moment its probably that.

Good luck for all those getting scans soon, and grea news for those recently had them. Pamelet brilliant news you have got a scan date finally!

Off to bed now, the DC are waking in the night with night terrors/general unsettledness so I need to get a head start on my sleep!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
