Tamuna I'm in Manchester! Which hospital are you aligned to? I've gone for St Mary's seeing as it's a brand new hospital - and I've got nothing but good things to say about the care I've received from the Emergency Gynae Unit over the last four months, but nevertheless, am slightly at the fact that they won't give me a 12 week scan.

Hello

Adding myself to the list. Not been around since the first thread as I got myself worried. Still not stopped worrying but realised there's nothing I can do until the 12 week scan (which will be at 12+6) on the 17th November. Actual morning sickness is now only occasional, but still blighted by random waves of nausea at all times of day and night. Have ordered some maternity trousers for work as my normal ones are getting tighter in the waist, and I want to be prepared in case I suddenly 'pop' overnight - don't want to be left without anything that fits to wear to work!!

My booking in appointment with the Midwife is on the 17th also, and I'm leaning towards a home waterbirth. Hopefully they'll be supportive of that.

Does anyone have any experience of Chelmsford? Should things not go smoothly that's where I'll end up, so would like to know what to expect.

suey2 · 27/10/2009 13:21

afternoon all

sorry to hear about car accidents, continuing ms, perinatal depression, rows with dps etc: is there a full moon or something?

i am trundling along. Massively behind at work, but not much i can do about it really. It will really be a hip, hip hooray when this trimester finishes and things can get back to normal for a bit. on the countdown to holiday; 5.5 weeks: bring it on!

Hi, I'm back again after being missing for almost 9 weeks. I'll forgive you if you forgot me!

Had my 12 week scan today and the baby is bigger than it's age so she thinks it will come early. I'm not based in the UK anymore so they do vaginal scans here (not the most comfy thing) but the picture is alot clearer and we could see very clearly the baby's willy! Which was abit of a shock seeing as we have 2 girls. All was healthy too so am very pleased.

Looking forward to getting to know you all again.

LotusPalm · 27/10/2009 14:13

Adding myself to the list - had nuchal scan today and all seems well, just have to wait a week for the blood test results. Scan dates me at 13+2 but hospital is not changing my dates so 'officially' 12+6!

I was sent to the loo twice though as my bladder was so full it was squashing Ziggy and she couldn't move!

Had a mild altercation with the ultrasound people as i am away in thailand for pretty much the whole of my anonomoly scanning period - they will only scan after 20 weeks here, has anyone else had the same thing? I eventually got my way though and have my next scan on the 11th of December at which time i will be 19+2 by LMP but 19+5 by the scanning dates and they said that i might have to come back because they cant guarentee that they will see everything...

memorylapse · 27/10/2009 15:10

lovely news on all the scans

Ive just come back from the MW where I heard baby's heartbeat with the doppler..took MW ages to find it as the little livewire was moving around so much..eventually heard it in the background to my pulse.
Ive got sugar in my wee so she is going to have a word with the consultant and she wants to see me back next week

Bettymamma · 27/10/2009 16:03

Lotuspalm - you are exactly the same as me re actual date and scan date. How funny. My next scan isn't until the 5th Jan though.

Memorylapse - nice to hear the heartbeat. Fingers crossed re sugar in wee thing.

LuckyC · 27/10/2009 16:23

Hey all, just checking in, there is LOADS of exciting news today!

SCAN TOMORROW! Half excited, half feeling something is wrong, and hoping that that is just paranoia. Wish me luck.

Tiggsy have been wondering how on earth you and ML cope with hyperemis-wotsit, normal MS sooooo bad anyway - feel for you.

Tamuna I had to book/ specifically request Nuchal scan.

sheep sorry you're having a hard time, and welcome back.

welcome back glasto betty ocngrats - a boy!!! First one of us on the thread to know!!!

back to work boss just walked in!!!

DorotheaPlentighoul · 27/10/2009 16:41

Wow, Betty, how cool that you got such a clear picture!

It's great to hear all the scan stories and to see so many of us returning to the thread.

I don't know whether to find out the gender or not ... last time we didn't, but I am slightly tempted this time, not sure why. DP is also unsure and we keep going back and forth about what we should do. What are you all planning, do you want to know or not?

Off to collect DS from nursery -- it's so dark, feels like it should be bedtime already.

LuckyC · 27/10/2009 16:58

far too many exclamation marks on that post. over-excited by scan. ignore them all.

Bettymamma · 27/10/2009 17:03

I'm laughing at the overuse of ! LuckyC(!). They apparently can't normally tell but it was that nasty vaginal scan AND it was sitting there with its legs wide open and its willy hanging out...the scan lady took a pic of that so we didn't forget!

Dorothea - we decided we had to find out this time because of getting the older 2 prepared for it all. And also preparing me for it was a boy. What do we do with all that pink stuff?? (ps i won't count my chickens till the next scan tho.)

brightredballoon · 27/10/2009 18:41

Dorothea my consultant came to talk to me during my booking in appointment and said they follow the NICE guidelines which is for a woman who has had a previous cs they then get the choice for future deliveries. I asked if I could use the MWLU but was told I am too high risk for it because of the previous section. However I am going to question this (fight this) at my next appointment with him which will be when I am 31wks as I have had a previous vaginal delivery and DS's birth was a cs due to immediate foetal distress (suspected placenta abruption) not because I didn't dialate far enough or because he was too big. I wont push for the MWLU if I have decided on an elective obviously!

Feeling really tired and have a dull headache, I have eaten and drank plenty think it's just tiredness from the children being up far too early.

Hello to all the old and new names

memorylapse · 27/10/2009 19:00

Im quite excited to report that Im definitely feeling movements..I thought I was but had it confirmed when MW was trying to get the HB and was pressing really hard and I heard it kick the sonicaid..and felt it too.

LuckyC good luck for tomorrow

suey2 · 27/10/2009 19:03

Brb he may still insist: I was told that there is a 1 in 20 chance of womb rupture during a vbac.

We won't find out: I really enjoyed speculating last time: although I won't avert my eyes during the scan, so if I see, so be it.

Washersaurus · 27/10/2009 20:30

Aha I get it now - I thought the May list was looking rather short in comparison to June 2010....was wondering if there had been a sharp rise in conceptions that month or something

I will never be able to keep up with this thread, it moves too fast, but will pop in every now and then to see how everyone is doing. I haven't even got scan date yet.

pamelat · 27/10/2009 20:35

12 weeks today! Told everyone, I may now regret this but fingers crossed.

To be fair, I look pregnant so it was getting a bit silly to keep it from people.

Still no scan date. Please dont strike later this week royal mail.

Just adding myself. Saw the midwife last week she said so much that ive now got no idea what she actually said I had a threatened miscarriage a few weeks ago but all seems to be ok now - though im waiting for the scan before I believe all is ok in there. Ive also had "sweeping" movements behind my belly button which is far to high for the baby and far to early!! But its really freaky!! On the plus side ive only been sick once today, yey me!! Hopefully coming through it pls pls pls

Sassles · 27/10/2009 23:19

Brightredballon Yes I will be at the RAH in Paisley. I was actually born there too despite moving around and ending up back in East Ren. Next scan is 18th Dec.

JamesandTheGiantBanana Thank you for not making me feel like a woose. It was sore and doc seemed pretty unconcerned about hurting me, but you are right that it is totally worth in and I was happy to put up with it to get accurate nuchal scan etc. I been booked into the Consultant Led Unit at the moment at my hospital due to BMI. Means that there is a doc present instead of just midwife, but no birthing pool which I am a bit dissapointment about. However, want what is going to be best and safest. Hoping by next scan they will see much better due to baby size and won't be so sore.

S x

Sassles · 27/10/2009 23:26

Oops. Just read email back and def have preg head on tonight! Many typos!

LolaAnn · 27/10/2009 23:32

Wow to everyone that says their scan hurt?? I was only 9+6 when mine was done and it was completely pain-free, I had psyced myself up for the pain too hehe.

I had a bit of an episode today making dinner, felt all woozy and sat on the floor, woke up staring at the ceiling lying on the kitchen floor I don't normally faint, but then I don't normally eat such rubbish food as I did this morning. It's given me a real kick up the ass to be more sensible, and I am embarking on healthier eating tomorrow for the sake of my blood sugar. Was awful.

Good luck for scan mmmchocolate and LuckyC!! memorylapse that is so cool about feeling movements!! Wow!! very jealous!!

Is anyone else still not showing at all? I'm like 11 weeks now and nothing. Except for extra fat :P

Hollyoaks · 28/10/2009 07:34

Morning

Good luck for scans coming up, roll on Friday 13th for mine.

LA hope your feeling better today, good job you sat down on the floor.

I'm not showing at all yet despite losing over half a stone . The same happened with dd and I still didn't really show till 20 weeks. Only just under 10 weeks now though so plenty of time. Check out this page for pics of other bellies at various stages, theres loads of variation.
