tinylion - glad you're feeling a bit better, hope it lasts!

Hollyoaks - golly, I hope you manage to get a good rest over Christmas! My mum was a teacher and was always soooo busy. I don't know how you do it!

AnAngelWithin - you sound v.busy! Christmas with older kids sounds so hectic. I'm looking forward to getting to that stage but not sure if I'll cope or just turn into a grinch.

memorylapse · 06/12/2009 19:14

angel..if you are cleaning mode, you are welcome to pop over to mine and get stuck in..strangekly enough..I didnt feel too bad just before I went to work and had a bit of a whizz round the house myself..the cleaning has been kind of neglected because of the sickness

TinyVeins · 06/12/2009 19:44

So glad to hear that others are getting out of the sickness phase, had my first 2 days of nausea-free bliss. Is this the start of things to come?!

Good luck to all those with a busy lead-up to Christmas, especially those with older children. Take good care of yourselves.

Gained 1kg so far and heard the baby's heartbeat at the MW last week. So lovely. Got my SF jab done too and my arm has just about stopped hurting!

memorylapse · 06/12/2009 21:33

tinyveins sounds like a good sign..hope your sickness stays away

sweetkitty · 06/12/2009 21:39

Evening ladies just finished a bit of ironing so having a rest. This weekend has been hectic, bit of Xmas shopping Sat morning until I got fed up, then put up the tree (DD3's face was a picture she kept pointing at it, but has been quite good with it), got my hair cut, then I went to a ladies pamper night which was nice. Today was DD1 and 2's dance exam and it went on a lot longer than I thought so had to sit in freezing hall with bored DDs and no food, it was lunchtime by the time we got out, I was so hungry and had lost all patience and to cap it all off I reversed the car into a barrier thing (waist height completely didn't see it) car has little bump now.

Have felt so emotional and tired all weekend, must be hormonal I think, brain has left the building too (see above).

Still not feeling much movement either

tinyveins - same here, arm just stopped hurting today too

ML - hope you are feeling better, I seem to catch every tummy bug going when pregnant too, think it's a low immune system, not nice though

hollyoaks - you sound busy too, is anyone else looking forward to Xmas so they can have a few jammy days? No trying to get 3 DC out for 9am, rushing around, pick ups etc and having DP around to pick up the slack too

angelwithin - I am the same good clean before the decorations go up, lampshades, skirting the lot, wouldn't know I had done anything though, house constantly messy with toys

Right am off to finish online shop trying to get ahead of myself for tomorrow then early night I think.

wibblela · 06/12/2009 21:48

Tinylion I ahve Multiple Sclerosis and all my health niggles get put down to that, which is probably not strictly fair, as some of them are most likely to do with pregnancy! Anyway, my M.S. consultant told me that rather than doing lots on the good days and doing nothing on the bad days I should try and get them evened out, so I am not on a roller coaster ride (c: Does that help with your situation? Does it apply?

ML I concur with everyone else - try and chill and try to talk to at least the MW.

I, like others am 17 weeks now, but rather than feeling the second trimester glow I am feeling knackered and lifeless!! Isn't it meant to get better for now? One of my friends said that the first trimester was dreary, the second was cheery and the third was weary - nice for her!!! TBH like you guys I also haven't found the second trimester glow yet. People have told me that I look well, but I think that is just clever make up

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/12/2009 01:03

Welcome wibblela, don't worry you're not the only overweight lady on the thread, there's a few of us, and my bmi was quite a bit higher than yours at my last appointment

Tinylion, sorry you're feeling so bad, but nope, don't think you can blame not being the athletic sort for how you're feeling, I'm built like Dawn French and I feel great at this stage (apart from weepy/psychotic moods now and then, but that's probably normal!) I suffer more towards the end with the effort of carrying the extra weight around.

Sorry to everyone still suffering with MS, or newly suffering with heartburn. Not fun!

Suey, can't remember if I already said it but that's fantastic news, so so pleased for you! I guess the amnio was well worth it for the peace of mind.

memorylapse, get well soon and try not to worry.

Nothing much to report here, I've been keeping busy and pretty much forgetting I'm pregnant, had an "oh!" moment today when I went to dry my feet and found there was a bump in the way and I couldn't reach as well as I usually can.

LuckyC · 07/12/2009 09:36

Suey - congrats! Could not be happier for you. A healthy little girl! Yay yay!

I am also having trouble with preggie brain. Doing such ridiculous things. Sweetpea, laughed at your essay troubles

Welcome, wibblela! Schipo, am going to weigh myself today, but have had a week or two where I have just given in to every impulse to eat (cake and cheese, though not - yet - together) and so I don't have high hopes for keeping down the weight. Sigh. Christmas AND winter - too much to resist. Also, I am going home on Thursday, and mum will definitely want to feed her grandchild up...

Dreading 17 hour overnight flight on Thurs with two stops in sketchy airports. But all in a good cause.

Have SO MUCH TO DO before I go, so better go and do some. Glad everyone seems to be doing well and mempry feel better soon.

Still thinking about Viv - anyone heard any news?

VivClicquot · 07/12/2009 11:37

Hello all you gorgeous ladies,

Just popping in to say hi after the most amazing and perfect three weeks of my life. The wedding was fantastic - a very emotional, but wonderful day - and the honeymoon was amazing. I'd go back to Thailand in a heartbeat.

As promised, I've posted a couple of pics of me in my dress and my Louboutins up on my profile. They're not the official pics so excuse the red eyes, but hopefully you can get a good idea of THE dress!

Have been thinking of you all loads and loads - I haven't had time to read back through the posts so I hope everyone has had happy scans and that you're all blooming.

As for me - well everything with our baby went as well as it could have done. Delivering her was without a doubt the hardest and most painful thing I've ever had to do, but DH (DH!!!) and I are completely at peace with our decision to end things when we did.

I'll spare you the details but it was essentially a proper labour, with contractions, breaking waters, the works. Strangely though, I think the hardest thing was leaving the hospital that evening, as it was Bonfire Night and there were fireworks lighting up the sky - they just seemed totally inappropriate somehow.

Anyway, we named our angel Gracie and the good news is that the hospital were happy to wait until we were back from honeymoon to sort out a burial, so the service will be tomorrow morning in the baby garden in our local cemetary.

We've still not had the results back from the tests that were done, so we still don't know what the problem was - I'm keeping everything crossed it was just one of those things and that it wasn't anything that will hamper our chances of having a healthy baby in the future.

Anyway, I'm sending you all lots and lots of very un-Mumsnet love. Hope everything with you all is going brilliantly.

Viv (Katy) xxx

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/12/2009 11:49

Hello viv! Congratulations on your wedding, you looked beautiful, I'm glad it was a special day and you enjoyed your honeymoon. I really admire your strength in going through what you had to do yet finding peace in it and carrying on. Good luck for tomorrow, I hope it closes the chapter for you both and you can look forward to the rest of your lives together and trying again sometime when you feel up to it. Please do come back and let us know how you're getting on!

schipo · 07/12/2009 12:20

Viv, it's fantastic to hear from you and to see you looking so beatiful in th dress. I can only second everything that james said. Can't imagine anyone getting through something like this any better. Am sure you'll have plenty more luck in the future x

Sophie2008 · 07/12/2009 13:47

Congratulations Viv, you looked stunning in your dress!

I had a bad night sleep last night, my back is really playing me up now. I had Sciatica with DD and I really hope this is not it returning! Is anyone suffering from back pain already?

memorylapse · 07/12/2009 14:30

Viv..Im so glad the wedding went well..you look beautiful in your pics..youve been so incredibly brave and keeping my fingers crossed that you will have some good news in the new year. Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

HeffaMerryChristmas · 07/12/2009 15:12

Viv - lovely to hear from you, glad you're OK. Your photos are stunning, you look so gorgeous! Love the shoes! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. Lots of love to you and congratulations

Wibbela - I don't get a pregnancy glow! You need to find some sweet old lady who will tell you that you're glowing (I worked with a couple in my last pg and loved them to bits for lying to me).

DD met Father Christmas last night and announced that she wanted a car DH and I will hopefully be putting up the Christmas tree this evening so looking forward to that.

LittleOneMum · 07/12/2009 15:33

Viv! Hello! You sound well and I am so pleased. Keep strong. You looked stunning by the way...

brightredballoon · 07/12/2009 16:22

Hi everyone

Suey fab news. hope you are enjoying a brilliant holiday now.

VIV you looked stunning, what a beautiful dress. all the best for the ceremony x

Sweetkitty I get the odd flutter but nothing like what I had with me DS at this stage (DD was about 20wks when I really felt her thuds). This does concern me as my baby was very still in both the scans I had well 3 actually as had 12wk, nuchal and a private one at 14 wks). I went to the day assessment last week as it was really bothering me and the MW was lovely and said to go anytime I am feeling like that, she got the doppler out and we heard the heartbeat and she said the baby is moving because she kept losing the heartbeat.

We are all ok here, I have my 20wk scan this week which I am looking forward to.

Carikube · 07/12/2009 16:32

Viv what fantastic pictures - you look beautiful!! Thanks for keeping us updated; I'm glad you enjoyed Thailand and hope you keep some very happy memories of your time there and good luck for the future.

memorylapse · 07/12/2009 17:41

BRB- Im v that you have your scan soon..got to wait till 21 weeks for min
try not to worry about the baby not moving..it was probably asleep when you were scanned..have you been really busy? if so you might not notice the subtle movements.

I have been feeling definate thuds this weekend..in fact last night I couldnt get comfy for the rippling/thudding going on low down in my tummy!
phoned my mw..and she said theyve had loads of calls from concerned ladies this weekend with the same symptoms so they assume its a virus.
my MS is back..am feeling quite nauseas and tired again..my bump is huge and I cant do up my coat..people keep asking when Im due and look very shocked when I tell them.

our landlord is trying to persuade us to move out by christmas..and has now tried a new tactic..asking if we can move some of our belongings so that they can store them here..the audacity!

on larger ladies..Im one..I usually take a size 20..at least Ive got an excuse for not wearing bridgit Jones knickers for a few months

tinylion · 07/12/2009 17:56

The lady who delivered my Tesco shop tonight said "how far gone are you?"

"17 weeks"

"oh my god, (intake of breath) I thought you were ready to drop, or at least had only 6 weeks to go!"

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am ENORMOUS!! with a HUGE bump!! and I'm only 5 foot so I look like a weeble!

Does the baby's growth slow down now for a bit? Perhaps the bump might stay like this til around 30 weeks before the next enormous growth spurt starts. Otherwise DH is going to have to roll me down the road to work...

I'd love a little neat bump. But then I'd love to be 5 foot 10 and a size 10 but it's never gonna happen....

Hope everyone is alright today, feeling less sick?

ForcesSweetheart · 07/12/2009 18:07

Hi folks, sorry been awol for a few weeks. Been totally exhausted from work and last thing I wanna face when I get home is another computer. Anyway, I've decided to take some time off sick this week as I am suddenly throwing up all the time so hope to get caught up on all that's been happening while I'm off and resting.

Viv you look amazing in your dress!

memorylapse · 07/12/2009 19:20

tinylion..lol..Im 5ft 2 and looked like a weeble BEFORE pregnancy

brightredballoon · 07/12/2009 19:44

memory with my other two I had the 20wk scan when I was 22wks pregnant so this time round being 19+4 seems really early to me too!

Regarding bumps, hmm some days I feel huge and think my bump is huge (especially when I go to bed after rubbing in some cream to bump I think I look at least 7months gone but then in the morning it has gone down alot. I am eating far, far too much rubbish though - making up for when chocolate made me feel ill.

I am still in a quandry about the swine flu vaccination, I am due to have Clevapan tomorrow afternoon but now I am unsure about that as there's so few people that have had it (or should I say so few people that you can find accounts of their concerns/praises for the vaccine on the web). I spoke on the phone with my consultant today who did nothing but confuse me further as he said the baby does not get any protection from me having he jab whilst the baby is in utero which contradicts what my GP told me (that the baby does get some immunity). He also said that most people are having pandemrix and that I should have it as that's what the Royal College of Obstetrics is recommending.
Arrrrggghh!!

itshappenedagain · 07/12/2009 19:51

evening everyone!
viv- you look fabulous in your dress, hoping 2010 will be a better one for you.

has anyone else lost their appetite completely? i know i have to eat or i feel dizzy and sick, but dont actually feel hungry.

Today is the day i have finally popped completely...i can no longer fit into any of my jeans and have to put leggings under bump...peopoe have commented today that i have put a bit of weight on. im hoping that i dont put on as much as i did with Ds..went from 7st 1lb, size 6 witha 22inch waist, to 1lb of 14st size 16 maternity and 2.5 meters around my waist! even as i was induced 4 weeks early they scanned me again just to be sure there was only 1! so far have put on about 8-9lb.
i ahve an interview next week so have had to buy new trousers, just hope they still fit!

memorylapse · 07/12/2009 21:35

BRB- I still havent had any vaccine..Ive had so much conflicting advice its just served to make me feel very nervopus about both jabs tbh.

memorylapse · 07/12/2009 21:37

on the weight issue..Im still less than I was before I fell pregnant and am losing a pound a week..but Im a big lady who weighed 14 st at the start so tbh..the weight loss is welcome...Ive put it down to the diabetes diet
