Hello all. I am sorry that I have not been around much - been reading to catch up and some of these comments might be a bit out of date! Life is moving way too fast for me at the moment.
Booboomonster - at the Pandemrix/ Pandemic thing - it IS a bad name.
Hobnob - sorry you are having to battle with them for the Celvapan. Doesn't it just make you EVEN MORE DETERMINED TO GET WHAT YOU WANT???? Do not understand why some places are so obstructive.
I went in and asked for SF jab pre trip home to Zim next Thurs, and they refused me as I am under 20 weeks. Rather cravenly I accepted that fine, as it means I can just delay my decision about what to do for a while.
Mollybob - how are you today? It's all a bit overwhelming at times and you have a lot to contend with. I have a friend with bipolar and it can be really painful watching him struggle with it. Come and find support here any time. You're doing really well.
itshappened again - how do you sound so calm? Can you give me lessons?
OK that was from your first post - just read your second post and heard what your mum and LOs dad said. They are worried for you, sure - but ignore 'em! Look, as you see, you are already in huge demand as teacher of calm in pregnancy. You sound like you must be a fantastic mum.
Hi morph2 and I second MoggMum's welcome.
Suey, thinking of you - good luck.
deranged rant alert:
Had dinner with some really sweet and well-meaning neighbours last night, but this guy (who is a community nurse) went on and on about how my life will be over when we have the baby, and how pregnancy absolutely destroys your body, and (in a weird joke) about how 'it's either a baby or a lizard' while patting my belly.
I laughed politely and did not say the following things.
- Do not FUCKING touch my stomach without my express invitation.
- Pregnancy does not 'ruin your body'. Mothers of MORE than one child have gone on to break Olympic records, go to space, run FTSE businesses, etc etc.
- You life might be over. Mine will not be. It will just be different. Also see point 2 above.
- Medical hint for you: Don't tell a pregnant woman prone to very vivid dreams she is going to give birth to a lizard. And, if I AM actually carring a lizard, and not a baby, I am sure my lizard and your frankly reptilian-looking toddler will get on well.
Rant over.
Ahhhhhh, I feel better....
