New thread here (I hope!!)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ElectraInExcelsis · 15/12/2008 20:09

Hi Nutty - it was £79. BTW if anyone in the midlands wants a £20 discount voucher for a 4D scan CAT me and I will post it to you, as Babybond gave me one today and I won't be having any more scans now.

Dd2 is excited to have a sister but my older daughter is finding it hard as she is going through an anxious phase.

ElectraInExcelsis · 15/12/2008 20:11

Good thread title btw

SantasNuttySTaff · 15/12/2008 20:12

ooohh thats really reasonable, do they give you extra pics to keep?

how old are your dd's electra?

ElectraInExcelsis · 15/12/2008 20:22

I guess my experience shows that it's worth having a private scan if you really want to know the sex. I was surprised the NHS got it wrong.

ElectraInExcelsis · 15/12/2008 20:25

Yes I got a few pictures to keep. Although the baby does not like showing herself at all and covers her face and curls up all the time There is a really good picture of her thumb up which is quite funny.

My dds are 7 and nearly 5

BabyCRIMBOlat · 15/12/2008 21:43

Well I am a technical wizard!! Lets see how long it takes us to fill this one!

Electra that is really reasonable!!

SNS so true about siblings - i didn't get on with my sisters at all when i was younger now see and speak to them all the time!!

OP posts:
SantasNuttySTaff · 15/12/2008 23:13

electra - bless lil shybaby, is your dd1 just anxious about the baby or is the phase just general?

god am so nosey lately, will shut up now lol

i hate to gush esp about a tv BUT it is a beautiful thing!! is only 5inches bigger than our last one and it looks HUGE the sound & picture is fab, its got a red back and a hole that is the remote sensor that glows red and a bluey white. tis v funky and pretty for a tv. dh is v happy which is the main thing.

oh bum am getting excited about a tv ....... get the straight jacket and strap me up now ....Help!

frostyfrekkles · 16/12/2008 08:17

hello lasses,

congratulations all on nice scans and such! made me smile so much to read about them

i'm so jealous of all your 20 week scans and such, I really really want one. Apparently Edinburgh is one of only four hospitals in the country that don't offer a 20 week scan! pah and meh. I'd love to see my baby again, It's moving around so much these days and I'd love see what it's doing. My boyfriend felt it kick for the first time at the weekend and it made me so happy to share it finally.

(and i'm also glad that someone mentioned crusty nipples and wayward bushes..... been silently worrying about that one! In another tmi shocker, can i ask yous all a personal question? anyone else a tad dry down below so to speak? I'm a bit worried about that, as it's making nookie a bit sore .... just me?)

miss sunshine, me very glad about you and your partner and his trip to the doctor. I'd really recommend he pushes (and he will have to push) for CBT. My ex boyf had that and it helped him so much. He was scared of the medication route too, but CBT was so effective. Have a lovely Christmas lassy, hope you can relax a bit now. I hope everyone else can too. love reading you all, take care x

I'm hopeful i can relax a bit too. Had a house meeting last night with all my housemates, and told them that I'm going to move out in the new year.It was recieved well and hopefully will clear the air now for a relaxing christmas. fingers crossed. things seem to be stable with my ex now, and my sister and i haven;t spoken yet, but am hopeful for the new year too when she's calmed down a bit from the hormones at 13 weeks

So keep your fingers crossed for me that i can keep on an even keel for a couple of weeks, I'd so love not to cry my eyes out for a while. My boyfriend would love it too. he's been ace though, really calm strong and loving. And check out the dress he bought me to wear at new year! www.picchumaternity.com/uk/acatalog/ruffle_wrap_maternity_dress.html

ElectraInExcelsis · 16/12/2008 09:27

Nutty, my dd1 has ASD. She has just turned 7 and it seems to have come at a time when her general functioning has improved a lot. So her anxiety is related to that - it's being looked into at the moment.

baublerella · 16/12/2008 11:14

Hi Everyone,

SnowySunshine so pleased your dp is on the way to sorting things out! Great news

frostyfrekkles that's great news for you, too! Hopefully the Xmas spirit will make your sister more approachable and that you can talk things out. Boo to no 20-week scan in Edinburgh - what is their reasoning??

SantasNuttyTaff am jealous of new TV - we have been staring lovingly at new TVs of late but cost of triple stroller means no new major purchases for us for a wee while!

electrainexcelsis congratulations on your little girl

I am so glad you are all having bush issues too! I had to get my dh to do mine last week as I can't really 'get to it' effectively. He did a good job but had a bit of trouble with the 'shaping' at the top. He was quite proud of his handiwork I'm sure there was more growth down there than usual - is anyone else finding that? Also (possibly tmi) has anyone else got dry, flaky skin on their nipples?

PS I like the new thread title!

BabyCRIMBOlat · 16/12/2008 11:55

Morning all

Freckles that is great news, glad you seem to be sorting everything out. Where are you planning to live in the New Year - by yourself or with your DP? Nice dress too.

Baublerella, sorry if you have said this already but do you know what you are having? (three pink babies, or two blue etc).

Am feeling so very very tired today, wish more than anything that it was this time next week and it would be my last day before Christmas. A week now seems so very very long!!

hopeful1 · 16/12/2008 12:22

Hi All,

I also had the same problem with the bush, myhusband also helped me out and thought his handywork was fine, I couldnt say seeing as I can no longer see it

I cant really help with the dryness issue as we are not allowed sex during this pregnancy but still leaking loads of that discharge so I guess I wouldnt have a problem.

SnowySunshine · 16/12/2008 12:57

Hurrah for the new thread! Well done BabyCRIMBOlat! & well done to you & Nutty for the title

I've been experiencing the opposite of dryness down there, to be honest... TMI AlERT Every time I go to the toilet I have to wipe 2 or 3 extra times to get rid of the discharge. It's disgusting.

Frekkles, I shall encourage the CBT. He had his blood test this morning to check for thyroid issues (I think it was a bit of a waste of time, but we'll see - at least they're taking him seriously) & the appointment on Friday to discuss his options. I'm waiting with baited breath, to be honest. I'm hopeful, but I don't want to become complacent.

Good to hear that you're getting yourself sorted & that the atmosphere with your housemates is good. How are things with your ex now? What kind of stable? Are you talking? & things with your sister will be fine - blood's thicker than water & all that.

I can't see the dress, though? Even if I copy / paste the link, it doesn't show me anything. Am I being stupid?

baublerella, I'm experiencing a lot of hair growth in general - not only down there. I suppose for me, at least, it could well be the testosterone - like how it's to blame for the hair on my tummy. I showed that to my dad at the weekend & he was genuinely shocked & amused & said 'I've got one like that!' & showed me his manly hairy tummy. & it's really not that much worse than mine Just as well I'm not feeling sensitive about it, though - wouldn't have been the most tactful of responses

SantasNuttySTaff · 16/12/2008 13:59

Afternoon

frekkles - glad everything is going better for you now and you feel able to share with your dp more x

Baublerella - yep flaky (rather than leaky) nips too as well as bush issuse and gross discharge (im well lovely at the moment lol sorry tmi

bb - i feel really tired too i hope this bug buggers off soon

DungunGirl · 16/12/2008 14:03

Hey there ladies..

Can't believe that we have had to move threads so many times! I must admit, I have stopped really writing anything as I can never keep up!

Anyone else been getting stiff hips?

If I do not sit upright in the proper sitting position, square on both buttocks, then I tend to get one stiff on the right side of my hip.

I end up hopping along on one side for a little while before my leg seems to work again.

I want to see the GP about it but I can't be bothered to book an appointment now as I am due to see the GP for my 25 week check soon anyway.

Anyone else getting hip/thigh issues?

PuzzYuleLogs · 16/12/2008 14:06

Wow, a new thread.

Gosh Electra, I bet you are glad you went for the scan. That would have been a hell of a shock, come B day.

Nutty, I am dead jealous of your tv. Although it would make no sense to have a sexy tv in my house. DD has already chipped our tv screen several times.

Frekkles, could you have a private scan? That's really shabby that the hospital don't offer one. What is their justification?

PuzzYuleLogs · 16/12/2008 14:08

Dungun, I am. Twas the same with my first pregnancy and really bad at night.

DungunGirl · 16/12/2008 14:10

Oh yes...another thing

Has anyone's midwife recommended taking vitamin D?

I asked the pharmacist at boots and she was surprised and told me that she felt I should check again as she hadn't heard this.

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 16/12/2008 17:16

Message for snowysunshine

Don't want to intrude but I saw a post from you on the age to have children thread and that you are 20, due in April, still at uni. Well - coming up for 11 years ago that was me with dd1. I actually had to get the department to do me a specail paper fro one of my finals because dd1 was soooo late! So - if you want to chat - just shout It's all quite a long time ago for me

SantasNuttySTaff · 16/12/2008 18:03

Girlies anyone know whats happened to lulu? she hasn't been on for about 2 weeks

mizzannie · 16/12/2008 18:10

Oooh, I'm so special that I get people coming here to talk to me! Ooooh! How sweet, though! Thanks, NorthernLurker if you check back here - if not, I'll probably CAT you at some point anyway!

I've just spent five hours baking & icing gingerbread angels, candy canes, holly & Christmas trees to take into uni tomorrow because it's the last of one of my seminars & the tutor's been so lovely about everything. She asked us all to take Christmas foods in, so I decided I'd make a bit of extra effort. Didn't count on it taking five hours, but I feel quite good about myself now - not quite the slattern I've let myself become

I too have had bad hip pain - also mostly the right side. It's generally okay unless I push myself too hard (which basically means walking around shops for a few hours), but then I really suffer for it.

I haven't been recommended vitamin D, but I haven't seen my midwife in ages. & every time I try to phone her, her phone's off. I think I'll have to phone the hospital & ask what's going on.

mizzannie, what a rude thing to say! Was it a friend?

Puzzle, what would we do without you & your organisational skills?

As for LuLu, I have no idea. & also (I bet this is where I say something really stupid & haven't noticed a namechange ) what happened to LittleMyDancing / WhatFreshHell?

SantasNuttySTaff · 16/12/2008 22:20

oooohhhh snowy you glorious baker you, could i have a lil nibble just to test please only lil nibble i promise lol

SnowySunshine · 16/12/2008 22:26

Of course - you can all help yourselves. DP isn't allowed near them, but I like you ladies more
