lol at pubes fashions gingersarah . That doesnt sound to pleasant after the swimming though - maybe i will just continue to trim.

electra - agree they wouldnt say it was ok to buy if they werent 100% sure.

looks like my little cousin has had her baby (she wsnt due for a few weeks but had pre-eclampsia).

I speak to her through Bebo and its quite an eye opener. I didnt think I was that old (27) but I feel very old when reading the Bebo speak that they all use seem to use. Facebook is much easier to understand.

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 14:18

Oh holly I am with you on the age thing - this morning, I actually told my friend off for wearing a dress so short I could almost see her knickers (she is 3 years older than me!!!)

A couple of friends have had babies too - two boys, Joshua and Sam both 7lbs something so nice sizes - is it wrong to be a little jealous that they have their bubs already?

I think we should have named the thread bush-babies!! all the chatter - although as we are all sharing I am an all off girl, although I have to say, definitely not at the moment! poor DH!

OP posts:
hollytree · 17/12/2008 14:22

ok this is my last post on the topic and sorry to go on but i just want to know - does that mean babycrimbolat that you need to keep it that way all the time, eg attend to it as often as your legs to avoid itchiness?

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 14:46

Ha Ha - don't worry Holly - I have mine waxed so every 6-8 weeks but if I shaved it would be about once a week yes so it would essentially stay that way as re-growth is a bi-atch!

mummyontherun · 17/12/2008 15:08

Hi I'm a lurker !!! But finally feeling confident enough to be added to the list if I may - my baby is due on 6th April and its the second, first is 22 months. She's being stalked by a wierd man all dressed in red but as long as he keeps giving her presents, she's cool with it...

I wanted to recommend to GingerSarah a website called "affordable maternity" - absolutely fab service and the clothes are very very reasonable. If anyone who is an office worker and doesn't have the black jersey cotton M&S dress that you can buy on there - I would recommend it - its a lifesaver, fantastic - washes really well and "saw me through" last time, and is doing great work this time too. If they did it in other colours that's all I'd wear!!!

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 15:22

Hey mummyontherun - welcome and congrats!! Feel bad that you have come in on the middle of such an open conversation but still at least you are diving in at the deep end?

Have you had all your scans etc - do you know what you are having?

As for the man in red, if he gets to much for DD please send him my way!!

OP posts:
mummyontherun · 17/12/2008 15:33

Thanks for the welcome BabyCRIMBOlat. We've had the 20 week scan and we know but we're not telling! What's more I've volunteered to be scanned by medical students so I have another scan due at 28 weeks AND a check of my placenta at 36 weeks which is amazing! (Apparently its low-lying and might mean I have to have a c-section). I think I'm really lucky especially compared to poor Edinburgh ladies who don't even get the 20 week scan. Someone I know in Switzerland was telling me they scan every month and then every week in the last stages - imagine that !

hollytree · 17/12/2008 15:51

hi mummyontherun. that sounds quite good to be used as a medical teaching person - I'd quite like a student midwife/doctor etc to be in on my delivery for some reason.

I had a low lying placenta last time round but it had moved by 36 weeks - think almost all of them do - or is it actually covering the opening do you know?

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 16:06

Oh MOTR - that is actually quite good re scans - That is very controlled of you! - We'll try not to bully it out of you!! hee hee !! Ooh the envy of those switzerland mums-to-be - that would be ace!!!

My placenta is high at the moment and in my last scan bubs was using it as a pillow for his / her nap! (bless!!)

OP posts:
frostyfrekkles · 17/12/2008 16:40

hello MOTR! welcome in!

i've got the midwife in the morning so I'm going to try and get a scan. I have fibroids on my womb, and i've read that you should have more frequent scans because of them, because they can grow and get aggravated during pregnancy and cause complications. So I might try on that angle.

and hollytree, I shave my bits as often as I shave my legs and armpits x

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 17:10

Hey MOTR welcome you sure you dont wanna tell lol we wont tell anyone promise

Holly - yep i do them (well dh does now) once a week same as legs n pits

BB - can i borrow the man in red after you please? x

SnowySunshine · 17/12/2008 19:06

So, I got a round of applause from my seminar group & teacher for my baking. Oh yes

frekkles, your Christmas plans sound similar to ours, except we don't have a fire or an aga Things with your ex sound healthy - it should all seem a bit easier once you've both had a bit of space.

hollytree, I take everything off. I shave (I'm too scared to wax) but do it probably every 2-3 days so it doesn't itch. I've never had a problem with infections, although I've had a few ingrown hairs, but they're easy to avoid if you exfoliate - they only seem to happen on the front anyway.

baublerella, I get the wind too & have done since about 6 or 7 weeks. The first couple of times I got a bit worried about the baby because stomach cramps aren't things that you generally want during pregnancy. But I realised what it was & am quite used to it now, although it's still not fun. But then what about pregnancy is?

My bump is really 'tidy' so far. I even still have a fairly normal silhouette if light's shining from directly behind me - I even still have a proper waist (slightly lessened by the bump, but still). I'm carrying totally on the front, although my hips are getting very stretchmarked. My tummy is, as yet, unharmed by pregnancy apart from being quite large & hairy. My mum & aunt both didn't get stretchmarks until about a week before they gave birth, so the same may happen to me. My mum was especially annoyed because that was after her due date

Boffin, have you spoken to your midwife? Mine won't even turn her phone on & who cares if your DH is getting fed up of us, we need you here!

Puzzle, I must have completely missed seeing WhatFreshMistletoe recently. This makes me really ashamed of my huge self-involved posting.

Nutty, I'm wondering what it is that you want to do with that man in red! Procure presents for DD, I hope?

DP's wavering on name choices now. As I type, he's sitting there coming up with new possibilities. He's wasting his time, bless him. I don't want to shoot him down & tell him to shut up, but this baby is George & unless I change my mind, which I doubt, that's that

SnowySunshine · 17/12/2008 19:07

Oh, also, welcome to mummyontherun! I knew there was something that I'd thought 'don't forget to say!' & then did. My brain is absolutely useless at the moment. Pregnancy hormones are increasingly destroying any memory I had. Grr.

SwalisWantsaPeacefulChristmas · 17/12/2008 19:23

Just popping by very quickly to say hello. DH needs the computer for work so I can't waffle on for too long. I've been full of cold this week but still managed to do my week at work including an afternoon in theatre. I've managed to sort out quite a lot of problems at work this week and there has been so many other people off sick that it's just as well I've been in. I still haven't had time to have my maternity interview and am still wavering on when I'm going to go on mat leave.

Has anyone else had a mad panicky moment when thinking about the birth yet? I had one at lunch time having seen some rather gory surgery this morning and remembering what it was like being stitched up (both times ) after DD. It didn't last long but I really need to stop thinking about the fact that what I see happening at work all day long is going to be happening to my bits in the not-too-distant future!

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 19:45

oooohhhh my friend came round today and we did the whole gift giving thing, we're both really crap so opened them together (v naughty i know butttt sooooo nice :-))

got Britney Circus album (yay sad but good) oldschool hardcore album, gifts for baby (v cute winnie the poo baby grow that has gone straight into hosp bag) and wait for it .......an all over body massager that looks like a lollypop (it says i have to consult the doc if pregnant not likely)

I LOVE CHRISTMAS

snowy - "I'm wondering what it is that you want to do with that man in red! Procure presents for DD" uhhhhh yeah thats it exactly lol

i too have a v neat bump but v sticky out frontwise, like i have a beachball stuck up my jumper lol

Swaliswan - stop terrifying yourself with theater thoughts xx

SnowySunshine · 17/12/2008 20:09

Oh, you should consult the doctor - don't even try to hide it in the waiting room & just go in brandishing it & say 'yes?' & nothing else until they genuinely fear what you're asking permission to do

I wonder what Santa sex would be like. I've never had sex with a fat bloke. I accidentally typed 'Satan' then. I wonder what that'd be like as well. I bet it'd be interesting to say the least

Swaliswan, I'm at the point where I've been pregnant so long that I want it over & done with, but not so long that labour's very close - I'm therefore actually looking forward to it at the moment. I know that it'll be awful, but at least that's the end of it. & I have a big issue with morbid curiosity - that'll change in a few weeks, I'm sure.

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 20:22

lol at santa/ satan sex

yep ok, will go in with a tube of lube as well shall i? and say i have a problem i was wondering if you could help me with it, and then shove both items into their hands lol lol

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 20:32

Oooh Snowy santa sex would be weird - I would rather have the satan I think (that must say a lot about me!!!)

I love Christmas present swapping, especially pre Xmas although I always regret it on Xmas day when I want more presents to open and wish I had waited! And I definitely have Britney on my Xmas list SNS - there is nothing sad about that!

Swaliswan great news about work this week - must be nice to feel like you are back to normal a bit - as for freaking out - I am with Snowy am so so very bored of being pregnant that I actually want the labour - I am sure I will look back at this in February and do a complete U-turn but at the moment I really really want the labour thing to happen (obviously with the baby being fully formed!!!) but then I have never experienced or even seem said stitching - that I don't like the thought of!!!

I am also one of those freaky people that actually quite like pain - I kind of see it as an endurance thing hence the many piercings I once had. I was that child that loved breaking bones and if I wasn't so sensible now I think I would be covered in tattoos (as it is I stopped at one!!)

Mumontherun - really we are very good secret keepers...

OP posts:
SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 20:49

satan sex reminds me of the south park movie lol

bb - when you have your lo you get to open their prezzies for them not quite the same as them being for you but you do get to play with them as well

ok joke i just got sent ......

Police finaly admit they got it wrong in the shooting of Jean Charles DeMenez (i have no idea who this is btw!)

it was his naughty brother they were after....dennis

SnowySunshine · 17/12/2008 20:50

Ooh, what's your tattoo of, BabyCRIMBOlat? I think I'd prefer Satan sex too. I bet he'd know a few tricks. & wouldn't say 'hohoho' at the crucial moment

& Nutty, I am definitely voting that you do this. Possibly with a hidden camera so we can see the outcome

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 20:53

snowy - please dont tempt me!! i have an appointment on friday for a check up to extend my dr's note lol

SnowySunshine · 17/12/2008 20:59

That joke made me laugh a bit too much (he's the man that got shot in London because the police thought that he was a suicide bomber getting on the tube, I think)

& do it! [devil on your shoulder emoticon]

hopeful1 · 17/12/2008 20:59

I am so jealous of all your neat bumpers. I am FAT!!!!!! There is no getting away from it. I asked DH yesterday if he thought my bum looked bigger, he looked and said yes it is a bit and you have a bit more cellulite on your legs....charming....bless him....he says if he lies he gets in to trouble and if he tells the truth thats wrong too...he's got a point

I need some help!! I have a wedding in January and I need a black tie dress. I bought one from Mamas and Papas that was reduced but 10 and 12 was too small (was a 10 pre pregnancy now a whale!!) I dont want to spend more than £50 as only going to wear it once. I have an enourmous bust (was big before but now bigger) so cant do wrap over or low cut. have searched the net and cant find anything I like for the right price....any ideas??

In regards to my ladygarden, must admit wasn't very good about keeping it trimmed before but my sister is a beautician so she waxes it for me, but DH is trimming. Have always fancied one of those propper trimmers, ashamed to say I use scissors

I know what you mean about the wind thing....do have to avoid certain breakfast cereals otherwise I have to sit in the office with my bottom clenched

Got the backache from hell for the last couple of days....maybe I should stop eating the chocolate and then I might not get so big...mmm, will think about it

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 21:08

asos have some really nice mat dresses have a look on there

will have a looksee now for you

snowy - will have to see how naughty am feeling on friday
