frostyfrekkles · 17/12/2008 08:55

thanks loves, your christmas feast sounds grand miss sunshine. I spent yesterday decking the halls, we've got a huge garden full of evergreen stuff including 3 holly bushes, so I decorated the house and got a christmas tree too. Tis so nice now. Have decided to stay here for christmas, all my flatmates are going to be away so my boyfriend is going to come round and we're going to make a nest infront of the real fire and watch christmas movies, cook dinner in the aga and be cosy. Figured it'll be the only christmas we'll have as just us two so should be nice!

The 20 week scan thing i think is because of funding. see www.sundayherald.com/news/heraldnews/display.var.1217826.0.midwives_call_for_vital_second_sca n.php . I'm too skint to afford a private one so I think i'll just need to live with it. Sad though, feel like I've been through so much the last couple of months that it'd be lovely to celebrate christmas with a little hello to bambino. och well.

Me and my ex aren't talking snowy, but not in a bad way, In a "it's too painful, let's stop hurting each other " way/ I'm hopeful for the new year. I need to stop worrying about it!

I've got sore hips, back, legs the lots. My pelvis keeps clicking too which is disconcerting. and i'm only half way. tis scarey how big we're all still due to get.

hollytree · 17/12/2008 09:24

that sounds like you'll have a lovely day frekkles with your dp - the open fire is the one reason I'm glad we havent been able to sell our house yet cause it's such a lovely room for Christmas time.

really must keep a note pad on screen while reading cause i always forget by the time I get to this point what I was going to say.

Oh one thing - since we seem to be having a tmi day or two - can I ask how much your dps/dhs are trimming from the lady garden area? I've always wondered what other people do but not really wanted to ask anyone in rl

PuzzYuleLogs · 17/12/2008 09:31

Springy, I believe FreshHell is now WhatFreshMistletoeIsThis.

Frekkles, you sound a lot more positive. Your Christmas plans sound wonderful.

No way will I let DH near my foliage, i'm just about managing it stll. Good thing too as the last sonograpiher seemed to need my jeans round my knees. Very odd. Had she been a man I would have been very suspicious.

gingersarah · 17/12/2008 10:22

good morning!

This morning my bust and tummy are the same proud bulbous measurement of 43". FORTY THREE INCHES. It seems like yesterday I was getting away with just looking a little podgy.

Are there any cheap online maternity shops?

Dungangirl - yes, a little, but only just yesterday. Some on here have proper suffering tho.

My sister gave me one of the big beach ball things, does anyone know what I am supposed to do with it? It has a picture of a clean slim woman sitting on it in a skin tight gym outfit. I am a fat scruffy woman with a big baggy tracksuit. Is this a problem?

baublerella · 17/12/2008 10:51

Good Morning Everyone,

BabyCRIMBOlat - hang in there! Time is dragging at the moment though, isn't it? To answer your question, I haven't said what the sexes of my babies are because we don't know yet. We have a scan on Christmas Eve so have decided to find out then as a Christmas present!

SnowySunshine Nice baking work! I'm very impressed - I think I mentioned that I had to make cupcakes for a friend's Xmas party on Sunday and it took me four hours! God knows what I was doing but I think it had something to do with having to go and sit down for a rest every twenty minutes or so. For some reason my hips start 'burning' when I stand in one place for too long I also have more hair on my tummy - it is fine and blonde but very 'fluffy'!! Looks weird...

Dungungirl I'm with you on the stiff hips and thighs! These last two weeks I've been getting very sore hips if I walk for more than 10 minutes at a time (sounds pathetic, doesn't it?) or stand for longer than 20 minutes at a time. My hips feel like they are burning and it goes right down the sides of my thighs. I am also getting very strong 'stretchy' pains down my sides when I walk as bump has got VERY large in the last week or so. Am measuring 30 weeks although I'm only 23!

Mizzannie What a horrible comment! I'm sure whoever said it was just jealous because you looked so good in all your Christmas finery!! If it makes you feel any better, the checkout lady at Sainsbury's asked me if I was having a Christmas baby!!! I told her I still had four months to go and she was very shocked.

frostyfrekkles Your decorations sound lovely! How lucky having all that growing in your garden. It will be nice for you and your boyfriend to be alone for a romantic Christmas. Things seem to be really picking up for you!

Hollytree In answer to your bush trimming question, normally I take everything off my 'undercarriage' and just leave a kind of v-shaped bit at the top. Does that make sense?

PuzzYulelogs How weird! Why did she need your jeans so low? I literally can't see to do my own foliage so you are doing well!

Hopeful1 As you know, we are not allowed to have sex either so I feel your pain! I don't have a problem with dryness - rather a lot of discharge if anything! I think it can go either way...

In other TMI news, I am having a few tummy pains due to wind... does anyone else get this? I am also burping A LOT! Please tell me it's not just me...

Also, has anybody got a very weirdly-shaped bump? Mine starts right under my boobs and is kind of egg-shaped if viewed from the front, with thinner end of the egg at the bottom. It also hangs quite low. I have a large scar that runs from my belly button almost to my right side (from an operation I had as a baby) and this part of my bump is held in as the scar can't stretch as much as the rest of me. All in all, NOT a bump that would feature in one of those adds for pregnancy products!!

Love, Baublerella XX

baublerella · 17/12/2008 10:54

Sorry, 'ads' not 'adds' - seem to have lost power to spell..

VirginBoffinMum · 17/12/2008 11:04

Just a quick hello, ladies, as I have just found the new thread. Plus I had to cut down on MN a bit for a few days, as I found in the absence of much of a life elsewhere, I was spending all my time quoting you to DH, and he was starting to roll his eyes a bit.

Still have SPD (getting worse) and during my copious hours online, I found a petition on the No 10 Downing Street website, so I am going to sign it. There is also a good bf one about allowing children of all ages to bf in public, not just those under 6 months.

petitions.number10.gov.uk/spdinpregnancy/

Baby is doing fine but I have gone off my m/w because she has not been around to see me since I got SPD. Bit tricky as I'm supposed to be having a home birth.

Re: ladygarden, I managed to trim this last week and it only seems averagely lush, tbh.

BabyCRIMBOlat · 17/12/2008 11:22

Morning all

Hope you are all feeling good today - I'm feeling mildly better although my bosses announced yesterday at 4.30PM! that today we were having work photo's done at 11.30 for annuals and client headshots etc. Needless to say at 6 months pregnant (and with six months worth of roots!) this did not go down well!!! I have all the make up on in the world and I still look tired and puffy!

Snowy well done on the baking and frekkles Xmas sounds lovely!

Baublerella what a lovely Xmas present! lets hope the little chickens perform for you!!

My bump is fairly ok I think - am getting a bit bigger on the back of my hips which I don't like but on the whole I am doing ok touch wood no stretch marks or anything just yet - although am sure it will soon come after Xmas!

VBM, I didn't even know you weren't allowed to BF in public after 6 months!!! My DH even asks after all you now- you are all part of the pregnancy thing for him I think!

Only 5 more work days (including today) to get through until Xmas and I am so excited - can't wait for the weekend!!!)

hollytree · 17/12/2008 11:27

lol gingersarah - we only get bigger from here - but bumps are great.

depends what you mean by cheap - i've never found any really cheap mat clothes but next have an ok online range for reasonably cheap prices (well at least compared to isabella oliver etc).

puzzleyulelogs - but when you say you are managing it - do you mean trimming it or taking it all off or what? sorry to be nosey but i just really want to know what's 'normal'.

hollytree · 17/12/2008 11:38

there i go again - how do i keep missing posts - thanks for the ladygarden info baublerella.

lol at quoting mn todh virginboffinmum - i do find myself referring to him as dh and ds as ds in rl too [frgin]

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 11:46

Morning Girls

Frekkles & Holly am v of your open fires

Holly i get him to whip it all off or just leave a lil landing strip (am far to huge to see and cant bend down to get at it properly anyway) have always been pretty trim or clean shaven down there anyway though.

Baublerella - what a great crimbo prezzie

Gingersarah - most are quite expensive but the websites seem to be doing alot of sale stuff at the mo so you coulod pick up some bargains if not try topshop & h&m as they are quite reasonable for mat wear

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 11:48

heee hee holly i really have to stop myself from refering to dh as dh in txts n stuff (i forget the poor boy has a name these days lol)

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 11:58

Boffin - sorry to nominate you but could you help this lady at all spd

you are so v good and wise i thought you would be able to advise, hope you dont mind

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 11:59

yay i did a link >

frostyfrekkles · 17/12/2008 12:36

i'm with bauberella on the tending of the lady garden, all off between the legs and a nice little tufty v at the front for aesthetic affect. Can just about still do it myself.

gosh i feel so sick today! just comes and goes doesn't it? Felt fine yesterday, but today i have caught snowy's first trimesteritus. Going back to bed I think x

PuzzYuleLogs · 17/12/2008 12:37

Bauble, I honestly have no idea. I think she fancied me.

BoffinMum, I have signed the SPD petition. I signed the breastfeeding one a while back.

Hollytree, taking all but a litlle patch at the front off. I am very flexible though. Or perhaps I have the arms of a gibbon.

baublerella · 17/12/2008 12:41

LOL PuzzYuleLogs

hollytree · 17/12/2008 13:02

wow -my poor dh - he has been putting up with a rather bushy undercarriage for a while now - he doesnt seem to mind though but maybe he doesnt know what everyone else does either? maybe ignorance is bliss or maybe i should get down there with a set of trimmers.

the only thing is, the few times I have done more than a little trim, its got really itchy - is it the sort of thing you need to do as often as your legs?

i am being awoken to a whole new world of ladygarden maintenance that i was in the dark about.

DungunGirl · 17/12/2008 13:04

baubrella
Wow measuring 30! I must admit I haven't measured as yet...so I wonder....well I am sure they will measure at the next appointment.

Sorry for you but glad to hear that others have the exact same thing as me and I am not suffering alone! Yeah I hate that pulling sensation in my thigh....I have to get DH to karate chop massage my thigh every night!

Have to keep telling myself 16 weeks to go, only 16 weeks to go!!!

gingersarah · 17/12/2008 13:17

holly tree - I don't know how you are supposed to know what other ladies do either, you can always pick up tips about people's hair and shoes just by looking, but lady gardens... hm.

There must be pube fashions that come and go - like when you noticed EVERYONE had those thick, curved shiny false nails with the french manicure effect varnish. There must be some equivalent uniformity in the pants of those in the know - but how do you get in the know?

My pantage-zone was a bit of a state (as it often is I'm afraid) so I did a very radical clear up a few weeks ago as part of a morale-boosting programme that included going to FattyClass (aqua aerobics). But I must have picked something up in the pool because shaving rash turned into an infection that eventually had to be treated with anti-biotics - I've only just got rid of it. I envy people who don't have stupid sensitive skin and can slash and burn with gay abandon! I'm doing to be careful from now on.

ElectraInExcelsis · 17/12/2008 13:21

Just wanted to ask you all -- if you were me would you be more inclined to trust the Babybond scan? I think they are probably more accurate tbh....has made me feel doubtful though.

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 13:28

electra - they sounded (from what you said) really sure and they prob wouldnt tell you that it was safe to buy pink if it wasnt cos some people have sued for being told the wrong thing.

ElectraInExcelsis · 17/12/2008 13:35

Really Nutty? Crikey!

SantasNuttySTaff · 17/12/2008 13:40

yup thats why the NHS wont give you 100% girl or boy and always cover themselves by saying they cant be sure but they think x/y

which is fair enough cos some people take it as gospel and spend loads of money on pink/blue etc then get a bit of a shock and want someone to blame cos they are out of pocket and some have sued the nhs for false info
