Hello - sorry I haven't spoken you for so long - have been having a baby. details shortly in the proper birth announcement bit. but DS was born on 1st March weighing 7lb 4oz and is doing very well. Have a bit more time now so will be about on the thread again.

Hi girls, have added me, I;m due today! had some more contractions yesterday about one every hour, woke up this morning and nothing, getting frustrated now because I've been having twinges since last Tuesday! Having another sweep from midwife today and another reflexology session so hopefully will go into labour soon. They say you shouldn't wish your pregnancy away which is true but I've had around 10 texts and phone calls already today, I mean just because I was given an estimate of a date 9 months ago doesn't mean it's coming exactly today! oh well they mean well, congrats to all the new mummies and fingers crossed for every one else!

Hello everyone,

Congratulations to Nik72 and Nettee! So pleased for you both .

I have been into town this morning and finally got my respberry leaf tea capsules, so I shall shortly start overdosing on those !

I am off to see an old friend this evening who has a 5mth old little boy, so will no doubt spend the while time cuddling and crying over him (Bl**dy hormones!).

Am still getting the txts and calls...."anything happening yet?"......... Even my brother who visits his girlfriend at weekends was calling yesterday to see if I needed him, if I felt anything was going to start happening??! He comes home Sunday evenings anyway! Also had MIL on phone last night 'cos she's going on holiday tomorrow (spain) and is so worried I'm going to have this baby while she's away - just to spite her of course ........ Believe me, would do it if I could , aren't I nasty?!

My DD2 went back to nursery this morning, so that's one better at least. DD1 doesn't have many spots and is perfectly well in herself, but I daren't send her to school while she's infectious - can't face the wrath of other mums at the moment! She's had spots for 4 days now so hopefully they'll dry up pretty quickly and she'll be back at school before the end of the week...... I need a rest!!

Constantly feel like I need to wee - good sign? Hope that means baby is even more engaged .

Already overdosing on those tablets. Going to featal assesment at 2. They think my Kieran is growing faster than a weed.

Norash40 - good luck with the assessment, don't worry too much about the size of him, I have a theory that bigger babies come out easier! My two have been fairly average, 6lb 5 and 7lb 5, and I tore bad with both........ however most of my friends who have had babies over 9 and 10lbs had lovely short labours and no stitches!! I am almost wishing myself a bigger baby this time! As I said on last thread tho' MW reckons this one's not v. big either.

Nothing changes here! Dp tucked up in bed, me sitting here with enormous bump. Dd was a bit poorly with a cold this morning too - so we're dropping like flies. We actually had to give her some Calpol for the first time in one and a half years. But it had an amazing effect and she insisted that she wanted to go to her childminders. So off she went and I haven't been called back to get her yet.

I did a 50 minute swim this morning in the hope that all that activity might trigger something. But so far ... nothing!

Congratulations Nettee - will peek at the birth announcements in a while.

And Congratulations Nik72 - brilliant news, and keep using those cabbage leaves, it really does help. Am wondering if I post on an April thread maybe that will work for me!

Norash40 - I've also heard size doesn't really impact on how easily they come out. Also the pre-birth estimates of size are notoriously unreliable. Anyway - lots of luck with the assessment.

Londonmummy - congratulations on reaching your due date - you know going overdue is becoming very fashionable (says she 5 days and counting ). I once heard that 95% of babies arrive a week either side of the due date, if that's any encouragement.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new mums - Girly, Nettee, Nik and Popsycal. Enjoy those bundles!

For my first ever Mothers Day, Maddie gave me a card with her handprints in, some chocolates and a book about the band Muse. We went out for a meal with my family and she got to meet her great-grandmother for the first time. So sweet watching them together.

Wonder who the next birth announcement's going to be...

Goodness - all you impatient mummys - I was so sure I would be the same. Still, babies will all arrive eventually. I told everyone that the baby was due in March to put off the phone calls. It didn't work very well and was too much like hard work so maybe next time I will put up with everyone else's impatience especially if the next baby comes on time like Sam.

Same as you London Mummy, due today! Had mild contractions last night every 20 mins for about 1.5 hours then nothing!!!! Same again this morning but stopped again when I lay down for a rest - its so frustrating!

I will be so gutted if I go late with this one, both my DS's arrived on the due date (so I've never been late before) but maybe as this ones a girl she's just making sure we know she has her own agenda.

Just booked myself in for a bit of a pamper tomorrow afternoon at a therapy rooms who specialise in fertility, pregnancy so I am having an hour of the WORKS... reflexology, accupressure and aromatherapy! Fingers crossed it works.

Fingers crossed for some action for you too thedame71 - didn't realise you were also due today. I've been woken up a couple of times with contractions at night, but they only last an hour and then go, and they're not proper contractions just really strong Braxton Hicks with what feels like period pain. It's all a big tease isn't it! At least I was prepared for this baby being late, given my dd was late. Mind you, by this point with her I was already in labour.

Meanwhile dp visited the GP who unsurprisingly said "it's a virus - keep resting" .. and hilariously on the certificate he needs to be off work said he was suffering from "general weakness" ... my thoughts entirely!

Felt terribly guilty when I picked up dd today and she was tucked up under a blanket on the childminder's sofa saying "Mummy I'm a bit poorly". Think I'd better keep her home tomorrow unless she makes an amazing recovery. Maybe that'll be a sure fire way to ensure I go into labour!

Haven't been able to get online for a while as hospital stay was a little longer than expected and have been busy looking after 2 under 1s.

Had elective c-section on the 21st Feb. Abigail Genevieve was born at 11:50am weighing 7lb 15oz. She had a few feeding issues to start with (hence longer hospital stay), but is now feeding well and gaining weight.

Congratulations to all and good luck to those still waiting.
