Accessorizequeen - I remember your name well from reading all the MB threads when I was choosing my buggy! Remind me, did you get one yourself in the end or not? I have the MB Urban, and love it!

As for the boy/girl thing, I'd actually quite like another girl. So many lovely clothes that I'd like to put a second in to! Would like a boy afterwards though, but since dh only wants 2 children in all, I guess it doesn't really matter. I've been joking for months that I'd like twins second time around, so that we don't have to argue about how many to have, so one of each please! (of course if it is then I'll be like for the rest of my pregnancy).

Nothing in the spreadsheet except what I post Smudgey . I did more info on the stats for my last ante-natal thread, but stuff gets out of date so quickly. Don't know if anyone's seen the Aug thread, but they even record 'next hospital appt', so there's must be a nightmare to keep up to date!!

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 22:52

I am sooo tired - I at work at the moment and will be here until midnight, how I would love to go to bed!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 27/02/2008 23:06

What, you're working NOW? What do you do?
This is a late night for me by recent standards, but dd didn't go to sleep until 9:30, so hopefully I can get away with it.

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 23:15

I work in a call centre, it's so quiet at this time of which makes it worse, if I was busy I might stand a chance of my eyes not rolling!

I work three nights a week and at the moment dread every one of them, usually I'm in bed by 9-9.30 pregnant or not! Not long now though, just got to contend with shoving my husband off of my side of the bed when I get home, that's always fun.

OP posts:
Jambers99 · 28/02/2008 08:07

Blimey AandMsmum, don't know how you stay awake! I'm tucked up in bed by about 9pm most nights. Not sure if the tiredness is due to pregnancy or being up half the night trying to stop my ds screaming.

Still no symptoms for me either - last time I had really sore boobs and had to get up during the night to go to the loo. Though last pregnancy was IVF so I was taking lots of hormone injections to sustain the pregnancy, and who knows what they do to your body?

We found out that ds was a boy - a teeny bit of me was disappointed it wasn't a girl (so I couldn't do the pretty dresses thing), so I was glad to know beforehand. And it certainly didn't spoil anything on the day he was born, there's so much going on when you give birth that I didn't miss having the 'its a boy' announcement. This time round I think we'll find out again, though weirdly I'd be really happy with another boy. As CSWS says, I've got so many clothes that aren't worn out at all and could do with a second wearing. If it is a girl this time, she'll be wearing a lot of blue & brown!

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/02/2008 08:40

I must have been more tired than I thought last night, to have written 'there's' instead of theirs . Am a bit of a pedant, and hate that it will be there forever now!

What time do you get up in the mornings A&M? I couldn't go to bed at 9pm on a regular basis, whether pregnant or not! I guess that might in part be due to the fact that dd only goes to bed at 8ish, so I'd have no time to myself.

sambrads · 28/02/2008 08:51

good morning ladies a new thread already and its only Feb

so how are you all feeling today????

in this past week i have been invited to so many parties and gatherings its driving me crazy as i cant be honest with anyone

bethoo · 28/02/2008 10:42

the suspense of waiting for the arrival of the baby to dins out what sex it is would kill me!! i am so impatient, at least finding out in advance you can be prepared iykwim like if a different sex to what yo already have you have to go and get diff coloured vests etc and names!! i am already convince i am having anohter boy so have already started thinking about names. i like Damian but everyone keeps doing the Omen theme tune at me!! so i will be fiding out the sex and not leaving the table till they tell me!!!

feeling queesy today but prob due to excessive eating of sweets!!!

for those who are concerned about symptoms, do not worry they will come, every pregnancy os different. i have been moaning about lack of symptoms since finding out, if it were not for the double lines on the preg test i still would not believe it though my main give away is my atrocious diet!! usually very healthy but the thought of a salad right now mortifies me!!! bring on the Big Macs!!

bethoo · 28/02/2008 10:43

sambrands- at least you have a social life!!! enjoy it while you can, just say you are on medication for a sinus infection or something! i had a tiny glass of white wine at my dps mums house as she does not know yet and did not know what to say and a quarter glass wine should be ok, not even a unit.

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 11:02

phew I found you - was just going to post and say I am finding driving weird too but think is low blood sugar cos I can't get my eyes to focus on the road on the way home - beware if you live in hertfordshire

I am going to a wedding tomorrow but am driving so should be fine and my family know anyway - Mum is hoping I'll want to go home early so she can too . Have not even bought a new outfit which is very strange for me - am trying to save money so I can afford highlights and lipglosses when am no longer earning

SmudgeyDoodle · 28/02/2008 11:07

Morning all. Thought it was strange that everyone had gone quiet on the other thread! I've had a very productive morning. DS beside himself at 9 so put him back to bed. He's still asleep
I've cleaned the bathroom, wiped the dining room floor, hung out some washing, put some other washing on and labelled photos ready to put in photo album. [Smudgey polished halo and gets herself a well earned cup of tea]
The whole not drinking thing is a bit weird for me. Still BF DS (only once a day now as he's gone off me, well my milk anyway) so hadn't really started drinking again anyway. I reckon I'll just say that I'm driving for the next couple of months.
AandMs mum, I hope you're still tucked up in bed. Do your DDs sleep in in the morning or do you just function on not much sleep?
I don't think we'll find out the sex. Didn't last time round so have plenty of neutral little baby clothes. All seems so recent, I can't get my head round that we're doing it again.

sambrads · 28/02/2008 11:35

when i had my ds i went for a 3d scan at 28 weeks . oh it was so lovely seeing his wee nose and cute wee fingers and toes then my mum turned round and said oh its a boy !!!

up until that point i was not going to find out as i wanted it to be a surprise but the whole way during the scan i was thinking is it a boy is she right then my mum and mil let the room and i told my husband that we had to find out as it would have driven me mad and i needed to know sowe found out .

to be honest i was a bit upset as i have always wanted a girl but then i loved the thought of having a boy and was so excited

this time i would love a girl but would also love another boy as i think there so affectionate .

at the end of the day as long as it is healthy i will be happy because its half me and my dh

has ayone done the wedding ring on a thread test ???

i done it and every time it says a boy and a girl and the same with my dh

Don't mention sinus infections please. I have had sinusitis all week, and my head is absolute agony.

perkypopsy - oh dear, I do live in Herts. Should I stay off the roads for a while to avoid you?!

Jambers99 · 28/02/2008 12:43

I don't live in Herts but I work in Herts so drive there every day - what time should I be on the look out for you PerkyPopsy?

Julezboo · 28/02/2008 12:59

ohh nice new thread!!!

Glad to hear everyones doing well

Ive got my scan in the morning tomorrow, scared shitless! MAnaged to persuade DP away from work for an hour to come with me too

Im miles away from herts so im safe!

daisyj · 28/02/2008 13:17

Phew, here you all are!

CSWS, I love your pedantry. I'm a book editor and DH is a magazine editor, so I live in the house of pedants! I'm eating the dictionary so that the bean will come out spelling perfectly .

I'm impatient too, and definitely want to know the sex, although DH doesn't, but I'm working on him, as I won't be able to keep it to myself. Don't really mind either way as long as it's cute healthy.

Good luck with the scan, Julezboo .

mommymummytobe · 28/02/2008 13:43

I've just joined the site and i'm due on 5 oct 2008. i'm sort of new to these forum thingies as well how can i join your october group? (it's so funny i feel like i'm a kid on the playground again: "hey, can i play too?")

sambrads · 28/02/2008 14:17

hi ya mommymummytobe

you are very welcome to join our thread .
you dont need to do anything to join apart from telling us al about yourself and how you are feeling .

iuseantiageingstuff · 28/02/2008 14:23

afternoon all

God I feel sick!!!!

I only felt like this when expecting my dd and not my ds's.

I was really naughty and slept all morning I guess thats a perk of having a big age gap the dc's are at school.

Think I will have to try ginger again it did work last time.

Hope you are all well.

welcome mommymummytobe

Lozza70 · 28/02/2008 14:34

Welcome Mommymummytobe!

Hi Everyone. Glad to find the new thread, I cannot believe the old one filled up so quickly!

I'm requesting a fingers crossed from everyone as I have my 8 week scan tomorrow morning. All was okay at the 6 week one, heartbeat and all that but I have a problem with recurrent m/c so very anxious....and I've m/c after positive scans in the past. Sorry for the very non-positive vibes finding it a bit tough at the mo

mommymummytobe · 28/02/2008 14:48

hi to everyone thanks for the welcome! i'm feeling ok, this is my first, so don't have much to compare it to, but am a bit nauseous (off and on) and MUST EAT SOMETHING every few hours the usual scenario i hear. finding comfort in the nausea (and sore bbs), b/c it reminds me that all's going to plan.

lozza, i'm having another scan tomorrow too (i'm 8 1/2 weeks), and sending thriving, healthy thoughts to your LO.
I'm feeling nervous as well fingers crossed for me, too, we had some infertility issues prior to this pg, so I just want to get past this trimester and be able to breathe and know that everything's ok!

perkypopsy · 28/02/2008 15:12

well jamb and CSWS it reall does depend on how I'm feeling each morning ...
Feels nice to know fellow MN-ers close by - maybe it is you I have seen in the gym or Tezzys . Actually there was a VERY pg woman in my gym this week and I found myself staring at her belly gobsmacked unable to believe that might be me one day...she must have thought I was some kind of changing room weirdo . She was short like me and I was thinking god I'm going to look like a mini santa (minus the beard)

daisyj · 28/02/2008 15:20

perky, you might end up with a beard, too, you never know. Don't some people develop quite luxuriant hair growth during pregnancy?

Gosh, three of you with scans tomorrow now. Positive thoughts to all .

AandMsmum · 28/02/2008 16:56

Hi to all.

Hoping everyone is well (or as well as can be expected!)

Feeling okay today, unfortunately no lies ins in my house eldest dd has school and youngest doesn't know the meaning of the word!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can only eat junk food at the moment, I'm really trying hard not to be a total pig but the rate I'm going i'll have put on 5 stone by the end of my pregnancy!!

Got a call from my midwife today and my scans booked for 25th March, really long wait but I'm looking forward to it, it's nice to make sure that I've not imagined it all...

Hi mommymummytobe good luck with your scan tomorrow x
