Heartmum2Jamie · 25/02/2008 15:15

After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Hi Everyone

It is so nice to hear everyone's updates and info on how they are feeling. This is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what to expect at 5/6 wks. I have no symptoms yet (have to keep proving it to myself by taking further pregnancy tests) and I was beginning to worry! It is very reassuring to have you all to talk to especially as I haven't told anyone else yet. Thank you!

LolaBella · 05/03/2008 21:22

Chickenmommy, i know what you mean i'm also 5/6 weeks and no symptoms (also first pg). Im waiting for the morning sickness to set in as at least it will remind me im pg!! However, on the other hand think maybe we should enjoy it while we can!!

pinkyminky · 05/03/2008 21:49

OOh can I join too? Another BFP here. I think I'm just about November but I can't remember the exact date of my lmp.
I have DS who will be three in May and a 16 month old DD

Suiledonn, I had hyperemesis with both my previous pregnancies, so perhaps we can share the trepidation! I am determined to keep positive.

Slings - I love my Didymos.

NervousNameChanger · 05/03/2008 21:53

Sorry ladies, I'm leaving....had cramps and bleeding yesterday. Did another test this morning- BFN, so looks like it was a chemical pg

All the best for the next 9 months everyone!

pinkyminky · 05/03/2008 21:59

so sorry to hear that NNC.

Jojay · 05/03/2008 23:10

Hi everyone - I haven't posted for a few days as I've been busy, so it's great to see so many new faces!!

I still don't feel remotely pregnant, but have had no bleeding or anything so I assume everything is ok.

Got my 12 wk scan date through - hurray!! Roll on 21st April!

I'm desperate to know what I'm having already. I thought I'd heard of a few people on this site who found out at the 12 wk scan - has anyone else heard this?

Poor DS hasn't been well today, he had an asthma attack and ended up at the docs on a nebuliser and has steroids to clear his chest . I was at work so DH had to deal with it all - I think I drove him mad phoning every 10 mins to find out how he was! Classic working mummy guilt!

It's the fourth attack like this he's had so we've got a follow up appointment on Friday to 'discuss' it - not sure what to expect really, but it's good they're taking it seriously. It's so horrible when it happens - seeing your LO gasping for breath is truly awful.

Anyway, 'Hi' to all you newbies, and I'll be back soon......!

scully · 06/03/2008 01:53

Sorry to hear your news NNC. Your poor ds Jojay, awful when they aren't well isn't it. Our dd2 need eye surgery last Nov and it was awful leaving her in the operating room all on her own.
Just rang my gp to make an appt for next Tues and they are full already But she's put me on the waiting list and I have an appt for Thurs just in case. Wanted to wait until I was 6wks before I went, just in case, so that will be on Monday.
Currently waiting for a call from the auto electrician, as our car had to be towed there this morning, as the electrics in it died last night. I was expecting it to be horrendously expensive but hopefully it won't be too bad, and will be ready for school pick up in 3hrs Tossing up whether to catch the bus or get a taxi, will see how energetic I'm feeling in an hour
Hi to everyone else

FurtivelyPosting · 06/03/2008 09:32

NNC - so very sorry to hear your news.

Jojay - your poor little DS. I would have been phoning every ten minutes too! I hope that your follow up appointment is helpful though. Not sure about finding out the gender of your baby at the 12 week scan - I think that at 12 weeks, the genitals will have only just started to develop gender characteristics. I think that generally, you wouldn't be able to identify a baby's gender using ultrasound until about 16 weeks but you never know!

newtotheplanet - how did your scan go yesterday? Got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you!

Pinkyminky - congratulations and welcome! Great to have you with us. I've put your EDD at 1st November for now.

Hi, not posted for a few days and great to see even more new additions!!

So sorry to hear your news NNC

Creena - changing your name back does that mean you have now told people your news??

Well I still dont have any other signs, just tired and weeing a lot!!
Decided I am going to tell my mum at the weekend, I think it will seem more real when we start to tell people, but just telling family at first, friends works etc I think we will still wait until 12 weeks like we did last time!

Hope I get my scan date through soon Jojay yours was very quick to come through wasnt it!!

merseymum · 06/03/2008 11:36

Hi, can I join you? Just got a positive this morning!, we've been trying since November last year for baby number 5, I'm really excited but feel really weird at the same time... actually I haven't even got dressed yet! I'll read the thread so I can catch up with you all, Oh, I think I may be due around 10th November .

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 12:02

so sorry NNC

hi to the newbies; looks there's going to be a fair few of us!

It's lardymardydaisyboo here. Name change is a nod to my slack birth control measures

not many syptoms here either (am 5weeks today). I'm weeing more, and have mild nausea, and the feeling of being due on has passed, but other than that nothing. It's got me quite worried as I had a very early MC (chemical pregnancy?) at 6 weeks a year and a half ago, and I had virtually no symptoms then either.

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/03/2008 12:36

NNC, I am sorry to hear about your news.

Welcome to the newbies! Creena, does this mean you have told people?!

I was worrying about symptoms or what I thought was a lack of them. Then I suddenly realised I still had some symptoms, just that they are differenjt to my previous pregnancies. I have had headaches, lots of CM and tender nipples but not boobs. In the last 2 days I have started to feel a little more tired and have very quick waves of mild nausea if hungry. oh and constipation. So quite alist really, just none of the things I would class as in your face pregnancy symptoms.

Wow at some of you getting your scan dates through. Heavens knows when I will get mine or even have my booking in. I called the community midwives last week, got told who my midwife is and that she would call back at some point to arrange booking in between 8 & 10 weeks. What's the betting she calls the day before she wants to come?

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 13:05

actually heartmum, now you mention your list, I've been constipated as well, annd I've had a few stonking headaches. I'm sure I read somewhere that if you are still BFing then MS can be a lot milder than if you weren't. A good reason to carry on BFing DD till I'm past the MS hump!

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 13:07

creena, I recognise your name. As a due in june 07, I lurked on your thread quit a bit in the final weeks up to DDs birth for news of all the babies

Hullo everyone! Congratulations and welcome, merseymum! This will be your fifth baby, then? That's so lovely - lots of older brothers or sisters to dote on the new LO! How old are your other children?

Heartmum & mum2becks - we haven't told anyone yet. Well, people keep finding out though. I logged in to facebook the other day to find someone had written congratulations on my wall, which means everyone else in my network can see it. It was a nice gesture and I don't mind that much, it's just that it's still early days plus we haven't told the kids or my MIL yet. It's strange that lots of people who know me 'on-line' know about my pregnancy but very few people who know me in real life do! I changed back to my old username because I post on a post-natal thread from when I had my last baby. It just became confusing!

I'm another one who hasn't has the level of symptoms that I'm used to. I'm just knackered, bloated and have sore boobs. I'm trying to be positive about it (although it is a worry) by reminding myself of how awful I felt at this stage last time and how I continued to feel like that for nearly 6 months. That makes me glad that my symptoms are quite mild this time!

Creena · 06/03/2008 13:19

lackadaisycal - that's right! I was due in May 07 last time and used to post on the ante-natal thread we had going. There's a post-natal thread now and everyone is still as chatty as ever! So your DD is just a month younger than my DS - we must be mad doing this again so soon!

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 13:21

well that's one word for it! I pesonally prefer stark raving bonkers as a way to sum up my feelings on the matter

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 13:22

gosh and number 4 as well! One of the women on my PN thread has four and she loves it. I was the youngest of four myself (22mo netween my sis and I) and had a great childhood; there was always lots going on, and my sis and I are now best of friends.

LolaBella · 06/03/2008 16:34

So sorry to hear your news NNC.
What is meant mean when you talk about a chemical pregnancy?

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 20:02

lolabella, a chemical pregnancy is basically a very early miscarriage. some info here.

OddEyes · 06/03/2008 21:30

hello! congrats to everyone!

am being brave, watched my due date thread last time but never posted

really wasn't expecting this at all ! ds is 1 next week ! did the test to prove to myself i couldn't be but BFP! who knows when i am due; dates say 31st Oct but no way that it can be - my parents were staying!! and i know when i ovulated so am expecting scan to date it more like 5th Nov.. but even then who knows as ds was a week over due... but don't think they will let that happen again as he was 10.4 lbs! sorry for the gibber can you tell i am still getting my head round this! am starting back at work in april but am going to have to tell them now that i won't be returning in september (teacher). keeping a secret apart from close friends.

am already feeling very tired not helped by ds teething and me still breastfeeding. nauseous on empty stomach. also having uterus pains.

had doc appointment on tues and first internal as doc worried about ectopic cause of pains. can't wait for scan will make it feel so much more real.

Creena · 06/03/2008 22:31

Hello there, OddEyes and congratulations! Don't apologise and gibber away - it's been lovely reading everyone's story about getting a BFP and how they feel etc. Exciting times ahead! I've added you to the list now but if your details change at all, please feel free to amend.
