Heartmum2Jamie · 25/02/2008 15:15

After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Oh wow, so pleased for everyone who's had a lovely scan. I really hope that you find it reassuring.

Betti - can you get hold of a phone number for your midwife and chase her up yourself? Maybe there's been some glitch in the system and she hasn't had your details yet. I always find it's better to chase theses things up yourself in the end.

Just as an aside, at my booking in appt this morning, my CMW told me that she has been rushed off her feet for the past few weeks with lots of newly expectant ladies contacting her - she said that November is going to be a very busy month for her as it's shaping up to be a bit of a baby boom. Made me laugh when I thought about how huge our list is too!

Bettispaghetti · 26/03/2008 14:27

Thanks creena. Have left message on their answer phone (although their message did say that the messages aren't picked up daily!). Will keep on waiting .....

dozymare · 26/03/2008 14:35

Hurrah for all the Beans with heartbeats!! You must all be so relieved! dungun good news, glad it has all stopped, as i said yesterday, I had exactly same with DS2.

Hope everyone is feeling good today and welcome to the newbies!!!

smilesattheweekend · 26/03/2008 14:43

Thanks dozymare.

Not sure about feeling good, feeling quite sick and tired but no to worry, it isn't all bad, at least there is a good reason for it!

X

SoExcited · 26/03/2008 14:52

smilesattheweekend - when are you due? I can't see you on the list. I am also feeling pretty sick which is why I wondered..

smilesattheweekend · 26/03/2008 14:58

Hi soexcited. I haven't dared put myself on the due date list. I will do in a while when I feel a bit less anxious (due to previous losses). They said when I had a scan that I was 6.5 weeks, my periods haven't really been regular since last mc in october. Sickness was one of the reasons I did a test a while ago, have been feeling sick on and off. This is my 6th pgy (I have on DS) and I have never felt like this, not actually been sick yet, but also feel very tired and have achy boobs every now and again. The nausea comes and goes but seems worse later on in the day and especially in the evening although some days I worry as I don't feel sick but then it comes back double! I have to go back to work tomorrow and am dreading it, no one knows at work and I have been feeling so crap I just want to put my head on my desk and go to sleep. I haven't even checked my due date in a baby book but I expect sometime around mid November (same as you!)

SoExcited · 26/03/2008 15:07

Feeling rough is definitely a good sign, so fingers crossed for you. I am a teacher, so on holiday at the moment but not looking forward to going back feeling like this. I keep imagining having to leave my kids and sneak off to throw up?!

smilesattheweekend · 26/03/2008 15:19

Thanks SoExcited, things like that (it being a good sign) make it more reassuring. Have you actually been sick (sorry to pry), I managed to hold it yesterday but thought that if I were close enough to the bathroom I might have just hung my head over the loo and given in!

Got to go back to the hospital to collect my heparin injections, might pop into tesco on the way and treat myself to a cd and load it onto my MP3, to make the journey to work on the tram tomorrow more bearable!

I have a huge pile of ironing to do but just can't face it!

X

SoExcited · 26/03/2008 15:38

I haven't actually been sick, but have wondered if I might feel better if I was!
I seem to need to eat something at least every 2 hours, or I feel rubbish. Also have really tender boobs.
Treats are definitely the way to go until we get to the magic 12 weeks!!

browny · 26/03/2008 15:43

Pinkali, glad you saw your little one's heartbeat, fantastic news! .

Hi to all the newbies too .

Pinkali37 · 26/03/2008 15:44

I feel like I have a slight hangover. Not actually sick but just can't stomach certain things. Have no desire to think what we are having for tea as can't stand cooking at the moment. YUK>

twinklingfairy · 26/03/2008 16:03

Ah, Pinkali! I have just had a look at your profile, your dogs are just gorgeous!!

So pleased your scan went well, and you too smilesatweekend
I had an early scan last time cos I was experiencing cramps, but don't think I will get one this time round cos I know what the are/were, they have now past. I went to doc for my pregnancy test last time, so it was really early doors when they knew.
This time I am about 5.5 weeks and still haven't told doc.

Still no symptoms, but this was the same last time too. After the early cramps, nothing for 2 weeks then the MS hit.
I am going to make gingerbread men with DD soon cos I hate shop bought gingersnaps, reckon it is just cos the bring back awful memories though.
Think I will try that cordial stuff though, or at least have it in the house, just in case. I hated the ginger tea though, I thought it had an after burn on my tongue, bleugh.

Pinkali37 · 26/03/2008 16:08

Hee hee, thank you Twinklingfairy. I lvoe my dogs. The yellow lab is Millie and the other is an Italian Spinone. A 7stone baby! If I shout at him he puts his head on the floor and his paws on top of his ears! He is only 18 months old. He can't understand why i don't want his dirty beard near me at the moment and so gets most offended when i shoo him away. BLESS...

twinklingfairy · 26/03/2008 16:23

LOL he sounds fantastic.
I have a silly heinz 57 variety dog, who hides behind my legs if I shout at DH, is that a good trick, or something I shouldn't admit to
She is sooo good with DD though, who has just started to pat the dog saying 'ah puppee'. 'Puppee' is very good and patiently takes her pats, no matter where they land, and you never really know
When the cat and dog are having their tea, DD goes between them both, ah puppee, ah cat. teehee V sweet

Pinkali37 · 26/03/2008 16:25

Oh how lovely. My two will be fantastic with a baby. Especially Basil who is quite happy being pulled around so long as he is being touched. I have a couple of British Blues cats (have just added their photos) and they're the same.

suiledonn · 26/03/2008 16:34

Hi everyone, loads has happened on the thread since I was on last - lots of new people here. Hello to all of you. And some early scans.
I am still in the throes of horrible sickness. Not too bad in the morning but by mid-afternoon I am in a bad way. Throwing up mainly at night. At least it's not as bad as last time. I think at 7 weeks last time I was in hospital so fingers crossed that this will pass. I haven't even had the energy to make my appointment to book in yet but hopefully will get it done by the weekend.
Pregnancy really does not suit me.

bubbaz · 26/03/2008 16:48

Hi everyone, great news to everyone who has had good scans .
I'm NOT having a good day. I had to tell work about preg as I lift heavy medical notes all day and after mmc don't want to take any chances. I have been waiting for occ health to do a risk asses for 3 weeks now and am sick of chasing them. I seem to have worse pains after my full day (I may be imagining it cause i'm worried!. I work in the hospital and 3 wards are closed with vomiting bugs so don't wan't to venture there and the lady who sits behind me announced this morn that she might have shingles - Great!! I don't want to twine to much cause i'm hoping for a promotion but I feel over protective of my bean at the mo!!
Sorry for the whinge and the long post but I needed to get it off my chest.
Any advice??

smilesattheweekend · 26/03/2008 17:03

Hi bubbaz sorry to hear you are having a crap time. I would certainly ring in sick for the rest of the week to get away from the place. say you have a sick bug and won't come back until you have your risk assessment too!

I haven't booked in yet with the MW suiledonn or doctors. I don't intend to even contact them until I am 12 weeks, they never want to do much anyway! In fact I get the feeling that in the early weeks the doctors and MW find people in early pg quite a chore! When I was having my son I actually complained about one who seemed to be so laid back she was in a coma - I had at that point had 2 mc and was bleeding a lot with the current pg, it worked though, the health authority took it quite seriously and I didn't have to go to the ghastly clinic, a really nice mw came to my home and it was quite civilised - don't get me wrong, I am not a snob (or a mouthy so and so for that matter) I was just at the end of my teather and fed up of being treated like pondscum!

Thanks to everyone who has posted lovely messages re the early scan - you lot are great, as no one knows about the bean (in real life) it is great to talk to you all, I feel like I have all the friends in the world which is the best gift of all.

X

juanitad · 26/03/2008 17:31

Seems like today has been a good day for this thread, with some people having successful scans, that's great news. Sorry to the people who have spent the day suffering from horrid ms, but at least it's a good pg symptom, so you know the pea/bean is sticking!!!

I treated myself to a new haircut today - I decided I needed something low maintenance, as I'm guessing soon I might not have the energy for styling!! I love getting my hair cut - so relaxing!! Although I never know what to say to the hairdresser!!

Have a nice evening everyone

serendippity · 26/03/2008 19:03

Hey all- Congrats on all good scans can't wait to hear my beans heart beat. Thrown up 3 times today and only 4 weeks along!
On the subject of dogs, i have a beautiful but extremly thick Weimaraner, slightly worried he may accidently tread on the baby he has nooo idea of his weight (40k) or size (big) and never looks where he's going!
Am sure he'll be fabulous tho, we got him when dd was 14 months old and he's grown up being sat on, pulled at, picked at, poked and cuddled/strangled to within an inch of his life
Off to Liverpool now, so will see you all on tues, off to docs then for booking appointment as well.

Heartmum2Jamie · 26/03/2008 19:17

Sounds like today has been a good day for the November 08 ladies, yay for good scans and heartbeats!

My booking in appt went well and as expected, my notes have me red flagged as being "high risk". Still, I don't mind the extra monitoring so long as I get a healthy bean at the end. The midwife said she would go back to the office and try and get me in slightly earlier for my dating scan (can be as early as 10 1/2 weeks), so that I can see the OB consultant at around 12 weeks instead of 16. No letters from the hospital yet re the early scan that my GP asked for.

One other thing, we need a new thread and quick, any ideas for names?

hey all - great news from today's thread.

Heartmum - do we just get a certan number of pages on each thread - I defo think it's time for a new one though.

How about:
Due Nov 08 - pass us the ginger biscuits purlease! or

Due Nov 08 - Don't know what I fancy to eat, or

Due Nov 08 - come on week number 12! or

Due Nov 08 - we're a bunch or worrying fusspots!

Heartmum2Jamie · 26/03/2008 19:28

I think thread shut at around 1000 posts, so time for a new one. I like all of those, we should merge roll them all into one, like:

Due Nove 08 -we're a bunch of worrying fusspots who don't know we fancy to eat, but pass us the ginger biscuits purlease while we wait for 12 weeks

OP posts:
Roca · 26/03/2008 19:29

Due Nov 08 - Just want to sleeeeeep!
Due Nov 08 - Hello! We're pregnant!
