After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Hope you get your scan Renaissancewoman - my doctor said exactly the same thing about having "only" had one mc. That's one too many for me! Fingers crossed for you today.
Dungungirl The gym instructors advised me to just try to maintain my fitness levels and not increase intensity or weights. Basically I do 30 mins of cardio, either X-trainer or walking on an incline on the treadmill. I wear a heartrate monitor to make sure that my heartrate doesn't exceed 140bpm. For the weights I've stopped using free weights and switched to the machines. The instructor also advised me to stop all abdominal exercises, although I think the advice is you can continue until the end of the 1st trimester. Compared to what I was doing it feels like I've cut right back, but it's all in a good cause I've always exercised so I would miss it if I didn't do anything at all and I think as long as you're sensible and listen to your body then it's OK. As time goes on I'll switch to the antenatal exercise classes because I think carrying on with the gym might be a bit difficult after 6 months, depending on the size of my bump! Perhaps you could ask your gym instructors for advice? They've usually got some idea of dos and don'ts in pregnancy.
Hope everybody is OK on this bright and sunny morning (well, it is here at least ).

HELLLOOOOOOOOOOO to Everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I however (started last week with the aches) ended up with a chest infection, temperature and headache so Doctor prescibed me with Penicillin (so pleased I got on it early). My sister says it is a godd sign because it shows my immune system is fighting for my PEA.

So much has happened over the last few days, FIRSTLY though, ODDEYES - I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your DH

OBLOMOV - I'm also very sorry for the way you have been treated it makes me so that they treat people like that.

CRICI - Brilliant news - absolutely brilliant. It must be a wonderful feeling. I am having my 7 week scan tomorrow and I feel sick to my toes about what they may not find. I just can not relax about it now.

So MS - Help... have gone off food. Is this normal? Started feeling a bit sick but then that disappeared but then i just seriously didn't want carrots or roast parsnips (which are my favourite with honey and mustard). For me to go off food is just unheard of. Does this sound right? Nothing takes my fancy. Can't even bear myself to prepare food. I can eat some stuff but I love food and that has gone. It started with a stir fry last week, so much so that I not can not stand the thought or sight of sweet chilli sauce (how weird is that).

So... scan tomorrow and have feel so nervous.

HELLO Duncangirl and welcome. So pleased to see you on here. I had some very straneg pains. A lot in my ovaries as well whcih has made me worry that I have cysts. I have a cramp feeling after I have wee'd. All very strange. I just don't know how I am supposed to feel.

divedaisy · 25/03/2008 09:43

tegan I thought I was 7-8 weeks preg but according to a scan last Fri I'm only about 5 weeks. My MS has been with me for the past 5 weeks! So really it can start at any stage, or even not at all.

I'm usually very hungry, but I don't know what I want to eat. For breakfast I have grapefruit salad (canned from Tescos) which does help to take the taste from my mouth, but does nothing to help the hunger pains... I want PORRIDGE but it turns me at the moment. I would have eaten a huge bowl of it at breakfast and it could have seen me through to mid-afternoon. Crunchy nut's turn me too - too sweet! I only fancy bagels with peanut butter and jam on top - yummy! I've gone off tea, and have started drinking either peppermint and nettle tea or lemon and ginger tea. Oh and I'll drink Horlicks too which I like cos it gives a bit of 'food' too.

I feel like a lazy day today. But doubt I get it. Need to get tax return done.

Have a good day - welcome to all the newbies! Congrats on all your BFPs.

Just had a letter through with the date for my first NHS scan. Had to move it forwards a week to fit in with DH's shift pattern but that's no bad thing. I'll be 11 weeks then - roll on 15 April. I also had a phone call from the midwife yesterday to arrange my booking-in appointment - it will be the day before my scan. It's all happening! I'm also going to book a nuchal fold scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London because it's not available on the NHS where I am. Anybody else having this done?
Divedaisy I also don't know what I want to eat. I just don't fancy anything even though I feel hungry. So frustrating!

Happy Birthday Hanaflower. The big 30 hits me at the end of the year. Have a lovely meal tonight. I know how you feel but I haven't been sick just don't fancy much.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2008 10:43

happy birthday hanaflower and I hope your symptoms have subsided enough tonight to let you eat.

I found with DD that if I let my blood sugar levels dip at all I felt awful, and generally if I cooked a meal myself I couldn't eat it. I'd suggest keeping some dried fruit or crakcers to nibble on throughout the day so you're not getting ravenously hungry.

have a nice meal.

I've gone right off milk as well now. It tastes awful in tea and on my favourite rice crispies.

Heartmum2Jamie · 25/03/2008 10:59

Happy 30th Birthday Hanaflower, I hope your ms eases off by the time you go out.

Is anyone elses hubby getting on their nerves? Dh has the whole week off and I am sick to the back teeth of him already. I am sick of his lack of understanding or support and his response to me when I told him that this morning... "well you don't exactly support me either" So, staying home, looking after our house, raising our boys and basically trying to make sure that dh's life runs as smoothly as possible, because he is so busy with work is not very supportive. F'ing toss pot!!!! The whole argument sprung up over the fact that he bought the wrong decaf teabags. Tetley is gross, I wanted typhoo, he said they had none so he bough the tetley and was most put out when I said I couldn't use them. I am feeling very evil and as it is his birthday on Thursday, I have no intention of getting him anything, see how he likes being thought so little of (I know I am a biatch)

Roll on Monday when he is back at work and out of my hair.

Oh Dear Heartmum2Jamie... My DH is being OK. Although everytime i cry he asks me "whats wrong" and that is getting on my .... as how many times do i need to tell him that I am worried about my scan tomorrow???? Also I have just had a chest infection and temperature and if i made a noise he woudl ask what is wrong.. bloody obvious i would have thought. I was coughing for England and had a temperature to beat all temperatures so was lying on sofa with 5 layers on and fluffy pink dressing gown, ski gloves and hat on!! NO JOKE!!! What's wrong he asked... AGGGHHHHHHHH although saying all that he really does try and help just in his own way. He is action man and NEVER ill so doesn't know what it feels like to feel awful plus feel soooo tired. I do love him though.

Could you really not get him a present?

lackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2008 11:12

I think men really struggle with the whole pregnancy thing. My DH is great, but he doesn't think about being pregnant every waking moment like I do. He also doesn't understand the roller coaster of emotions and that one minute you can be feeling fantastic, but in the depths of despair the next. For him, if I say I'm fine, he expects me to be fine all day.

heartmum. I'd suggest getting him a pressie, but pretending you've forgotten for a couple of hours? ikwym about getting under your feet though. My DH works away mon-fri, but occasionally works from home. On those weekends when we see more than two days of each other, we are sniping at each other by the time he leaves again. I guess we are both just very used to our own personal space. Luckily he has his beloved garage to go and stand in with a whisky and a cigar. I call it his sulking room

Pinkali37 · 25/03/2008 11:17

Actually I take my comment of "my DH is ok" back, he is fantastic but just sometimes isn't clicked into the way i feel. Like you say Daisy, if he asks me once he expects that response to be all day.

Heartmum2Jamie · 25/03/2008 11:27

Well, I did order a book that he asked for yesterday from amazon and it is expected to arrive tomorrow. Does that count as a pressie? Apart from that he says he doesn't know what he wants anyway, so not being overly helpful either.

I wish dh could get his head around the fact that I am worried and him not wanting to talk anything pregnancy related (because he is scared too I guess) isn't helping. Plus I have the added worry of the fact that I miscarried during this week with one of my pregnancies and ds2 having his next cardiac check up scheduled for next monday, I am scared, plain and simple. Hopefully the post will arrive with a scan date for me (not holding my breath)

OP posts:
Pinkali37 · 25/03/2008 11:31

I guess that does count as a present!

I know how you feel. That is why I am dreading my scan tomorrow. I'm just so scared that they won;t find anything and it will take me back to when I mc last year. The fear of this scan is so immense but surrounded also by desire for it as i want to know what is happening inside me. It is good to know that we are not alone and that everyone feels the same. x

juanitad · 25/03/2008 12:01

Hi girls,
Sending everyone lots of sticky vibes, it must be horrible to go through a mc, it's no wonder some of you are so worried about your scans. As this is my first pg, I guess I'm probably not experiencing the same worries as anyone who has had a mc...I really hope everyone on this thread has happy, healthy pregnancies and that Nov 2008 produces some gorgeous, healthy babies.

Lackadaisycal, lol at your DH's sulking room - my DH also retreats to his garage on a regular basis. He has realy made it his haven: it has a sofa in it (our old one), a heater for those cold winter months, a TV, a games console, a stereo.... I'm quite happy when he spends time in his garage, I love my own space, and more importantly I love being able to watch all the crap I want on the telly!!

I have made an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning, so I can get everything started, get an appointment with the midwife and get an appointment for a scan sometime...can't wait!

twinklingfairy · 25/03/2008 12:16

I am exactly the same when I spend too much time with DH.
He fell in work a couple of weeks back and was at home for a week. The previous week to that he had flu. So by the time he was home with his duffed up knee, I just scarpered with DD and saw him when we got home. then was unreasonable miffed when the dishes weren't done

DH was really good when I was PG with DD and just took me as I came. Norm I would give him warning, I am feeling cross right now, so keep your mouth shut if you don't want me down your throat! Or I feel sad, pamper me for a bit.
Norm he would oblige. Just a shame he will only do it when PG or early days with LO's.
teehee

Felt quite light headed this am when getting DD up, forst time I have felt that. Was quite pleased to be feeling anything, but soooo hoping no bad MS this time. I am not going to whisper it.

Happy birthday hana hope the MS stays that, Morning sickness, not all day sickness, and that you have a lovely dinner out.
Jealous, moi?
of teh meal out not the ms.

cricri · 25/03/2008 12:23

Happy birthday Hana! Hope you feel a bit better now and that you can enjoy your meal tonight.
