Heartmum2Jamie · 25/02/2008 15:15

After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

I have been off for a few days and couldn't believe it when i saw ho wth elist had grown.

A huge congrats to us all.

have told in laws and sil today and they are chuffed.

i also told best mate last night and it was a huge cry fest, first her then me and then a good 5 mins of screaming. she has been throught 18 months of my moods swings and disappointment and now we have something to celebrate.

Renaissancewoman · 23/03/2008 16:34

Yorky - my morning sickness is exactly the same - not so bad as long as I'm eating. I'm running out of food! I feel so shattered, more so than with my previous pregnanacies. My DH is back tonight and I plan to do very little tomorrow. Although I am tempted to try to arrange a private scan.

twinklingfairy · 23/03/2008 16:43

That does sound stange betti

I very nearly told my family today. We were out for lunch and drinks were being ordered. Norm I like a wee lass of lager and sis was saying something of that ilk and I was very close to saying, can't I am pregnant!
But I held my tongue and the moment passed.
Will tell everyone next week.

Congrats to new BFP's!
Well done, looking forward to sharing the highs and lows

I have no symptoms whatsoever, has been a while since I had any. Cept maybe sore boobs, but so little I could forget I had them. Would like more but at the same time, less is good for as long as my body and bean is happy, teehee

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/03/2008 20:09

Wow, the list has grown again! Welcome to the new BFP's!

I hope everyone has had a good Easter so far and aren't feeling too sick from m/s or choccy. No chance of feeling sick from choccy for me, it's the one thing I have consitently gone off with all my pregnancies. I had 1 small creme egg that ds1 gave me.

Can't really say I am having much in the way of symptoms still, the odd wave of nausea, headaches still (OJ is bad!), constipation still and just 5 minutes ago I sneezed and OMG, the round ligament pain..... I felt like I had been ripped in half. Too scared to sneeze again now.

Tomorrow is 8 weeks for me and while I am glad time is passing at a reasonable pace and I feel quite well, I am also rapidly approaching the milestone I wanted desperately to pass. I want to make 9 weeks with no spotting or bleeding. I started spotting at 8+6 with my miscarriage and when scanned, found it was a missed miscarriage. This week I am also hoping to hear from the midwife, recieve my appt for an "early" scan and recieve the doppler that a friend is lending me. Plus, dh is off work this week, so it should pass quicker than normal I hope!

Right, best get off the computer, the screen isn't helping my headache!

hello to the new BFP's.

and so sorry to herar of some losses

this pregnancy is so strange. i have days when i am floored by nausea and really cant face anything. but today i am starving and eating loads. i have been a bit naughty and looking at prams. i have pre-ordered a buzz as well already. they said i can cancel if i need to but i have a good feeling about this pregnancy. even though it still doesnt seem 100% real.

i havent told the children yet. a few people in real life know, but wont be making any big announcements untill after a scan, just in case.

Creena · 23/03/2008 20:16

Hi everyone!

Welcome and congratulations to all our new members! Our list is a big one alright! At least one of is will be having a baby pretty much every day come November.

lackaDAISYcal - just wanted to say that i totally understand why you're taking a wee break. Pregnancy hormones are a right bugger, aren't they?! I have days too when I feel quite emotional and I always avoid posting on those days. I woke up this morning in a really bad mood for no reason at all - I had to give myself quite a talking to!

Is everyone having a nice Easter break so far? I managed to cook and eat a big roast lunch. Preparing the chicken was a bit touch and go though! I found that the roast potatoes really helped with my nausea - thank goodness they take so long to cook or I'd be making them every day and would end up looking like Giant Haystacks by November.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/03/2008 21:05

i'm lurking a bit and feeling a bit better about things today. lots of ms symptoms; and I couldn't face chocoalte earlier . I forced it down though . I'm craving salt and vinegar crisps for some reason; and bread, even though I can't eat it as I have coeliac disease (I made my own gluten free bread today for the first time though and it was quite nice)

misdee glad you are feeling OK. I suppose with all that your DCs have been through with Peter, it's wise to keep it quiet for a wee while.

Last November's list was huge as well; Valentine's day has a lot to answer for .

hi to the new BFPs and congratulations.

tryingtoleave · 24/03/2008 00:32

Thanks for the welcomes! I have a cupboard stocked with salt and vinegar crisps lackadaisycal. Also ginger beer and baby gels.

divedaisy · 24/03/2008 09:42

Good morning! Trying to head out for a family day out. But DH is still on bed! DS & I have been up a while now, and I too feel like second breakfast - I too had porridge, Yorky but I had to throw most of it to the dogs - even with 2 spoons of sugar it was horrible, which is strange cos I usually
have it every morning!

Well I'm off now to give DH a big shove out of bed and get everyone organised!

have a great Easter. If going out on the roads, drive safely - we've all got precious cargo on board!

twinklingfairy · 24/03/2008 11:37

Hiya bubbaz Congratulations and welcome
I have moved your name up the list so that you are with the other ladies who are due on the same day.

Nothing new here, cept I was in bed by 8.30 last night, lights out by 9
But DH was with me and asleep in minutes, so maybe we had just had a long day?
I really must get my bum in gear and take DD to an easter egg hunt that is on in the woods near here.
Only prob is the weather is rubbish! Do I really want to go easter egg hunting in the snow and wind? I think not. Espesh when DD doesn't eat chocolate anyway. Shame it might have been fun.

Emmanj · 24/03/2008 11:52

Hi everyone - hope your all well today. i see lots of us are attempting to get out and do something! Im off to the wedding later so hoping to fool people with divedaisys tip!

Feel ok today excpet have really really dry skin on body, espesh on boobs (sorry TMI!!!) have had it for a few days and am moisturising and exfoliating like mad but to no avail!!! Anyone else had this?

twinklingfairy - i know what u mean about being in bed early - we r just the same - and keep waking up really early which is most unlike me! DH has been up at 6am everyyday since Friday and he usually likes a lie in at weekends!
Congrats bubbaz on your pg, fab news!
I will add my name to the list when ive found out EDD, im really not sure and im seeing midwife Weds so will do it then

cricri · 24/03/2008 11:55

Welcome Bubbaz and other newbies and congratulations on your pregnancies!
Divedaisy I've also gone right off porridge and I usually have it every day too! I recommend crunchy nut cornflakes and rice krispies instead - not quite as healthy though Felt really nauseous yesterday and didn't really fancy eating anything at all, which was unfortunate as DH and I went out for Easter Sunday lunch. However, once the food arrived I managed to eat it and felt OK. It's really weird - some days I feel desperately hungry and have to eat something (usually something unhealthy) right that minute otherwise I start to get really bad stomach cramps, and then yesterday I just couldn't face anything. DH doesn't know what to do with me! Hopefully the bean isn't missing out on too many vital nutrients - my diet was pretty healthy before fortunately.
Not feeling too tired at the moment and still managing to get to the gym, although I've reduced the intensity of my workouts.
LackaDAISYcal Glad you're feeling a bit better today. These early weeks are so tough.
Hope everybody else is OK.

SaMumInUK · 24/03/2008 14:30

Hi Ladies

Pleasssseeee may I join you. Got a BFP earlier today, this is No2 and if I'm correct my EDD is 29Nov. I'm not one for keeping quite so have already told EVERYONE or almost everyone. I'm sooooooo excited but I don't think it has quite sunk in yet.

mower · 24/03/2008 14:53

HeartmumtoJamie I just had to come so so pleased to see you on this thread. Do you remember me Mower, you sent me a lovely email before my ds2 went in for his heart operation. Sorry I haven't kept in touch but chaotic after as we moved house. Ds recovered amazingly and its as if nothing is wrong now he still has a slightly abnormal mitral voule (sorry for my terrible spelling!) but only has to be seen once a year but he is amazing and big and strong and just normal! Hope your little one is well too.
I can join this thread too as did a pregnancy test (well about 4 actually!) during the week and think I will be due 28th November. Have just got over having a miscarraige in January so very very nervous.

bubbaz · 24/03/2008 15:54

Thanks everyone
Thanks twinkling fairy I really didn't notice it was in order oops!!
Have just read the WHOLE thread wow its amazing how many people have the sae worries - I am not a freak after all. I too had a mmc before DS and am panicking about pains etc, can't get an early scan as my pct scans between 9 and 13 weeks routinely. Just hopeing to get in ASAP.
Has anyone found they have ore pains after a CS then first time round?
Hope everyone is well

tegan · 24/03/2008 17:04

Afternoon ladies.

Can anyone let me know when i should expect ms to start???

I didn't have it with dd1 and just had neausia with dd2 and feel fine but would like to be prepared.

Renaissancewoman · 24/03/2008 17:20

Started feeling a bit better today. But have done nothing and am still in pjs. Husband is back, hurrah and feeling guilty for having left me, hurrah hurrah and is working like a dog to be nice to me. I have laid in bed reading and teaching my DD cross stitching and general embroidery techniques - not generally my thing at all. They've gone out swimming and have made a gingerbread loaf with real gingerbread (ginger and sugar seem to be the only things that alleviate the MS albeit temporarily). Am now to attempt a roast in time for their return just to prove am not a lazy slob in baggy very unsexy flannelette pants.

May be able to get a private scan tomorrow. Will let you know. Have no worrying symptoms but just want to buy a little piece of mind and there is no chance of NHS scan here as doctor said "you've only had one miscarriage". Yes quite right doc, silly me for even giving it a moments thought.

LackaDaisycal - I feel dim that I had not made the Valentines day connection!

Heartmum2Jamie · 24/03/2008 20:06

OMG Mower!! How lovely to hear from you (I do remember you!) Congratulations to you too and sending lots of sticky vibes your way! Fingers crossed we both get sticky, healthy beans.

I am glad your ds bounced back quickly and is doing so well. My ds2 is doing very well as far as we know, he is due his next check up a week today , so not only worrying about this tiny bundle, but worrying about ds2, even though I am sure he is ok. Here's hoping his "wonky valves" as his cardiologist puts it, have stayed the same!

Taegan, I think if you are going to get m/s, it usually starts around 6 weeks. I know I felt really rough for several days betwen 6 & 7 weeks, but I have never really suffered bad with any of my pregnancies. I think myself very lucky.

Renaissancewoman, good luck tomorrow, I hope you can get your peace of mind!

dozymare · 24/03/2008 20:20

Evening all....Hope we are all good and feeling positive!! DH has just cooked me a lovely dinner but all I want is CHIPS...dirty, greasy chips!! (Now, if you know me, I am health food all the way) so am very surprised at this........sadly picked at my moroccan lamb and he is now slaving erm cooking me some homemade frys! Strangly enough, last week (if you remember) I was craving carbs and yet again, seems that way again!! Any other strange ones out there???!

DungunGirl · 24/03/2008 21:25

hi ladies

cricri couldn't help but notice you said you are still going to the gym? I really want to keep up my weight loss programme but I am a little worried as I am so early on in this pg. What sort of workout do you do?

I am planning to just do some cross-trainer and some cycling machine...maybe some tricep/bicep weights and leave it at that. WHat are you doing?

dozymare and primrose
Hi ladies!

lackaDAISYcal · 24/03/2008 21:34

I can't get enough of vinegar crisps at the moment. My mouth waters just thinking of them, and last night I seriously considered drinking neat vinegar....weird or what?

Roca · 25/03/2008 00:20

lackadaisycal - guess what, I'm coeliac too - have been since birth. Totally used it but so glad my kids don't have it - having to turn up to parties with your own 'special' sandwiches is no fun for an 8 yr old!

Hi to evenryone, Just got back from a weekend break in Dorset and am happy as now 6 weeks (well it seems a lot further than the 4 I was when I first went on here!)

lackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2008 00:32

hi Roca. glad you had a good weekend. IKWYM about the dates thing, i feel much happier now I'm nearly 8 weeks.

I wasn't diagnosed coeliac until I was 35 (only four years ago); I spent most of my life with nasty tummy symptoms and bad skin including several really awful outbreaks of DH. I was told it was irritable bowel syndrome and the skin thing was put down to shingles.

I was on my way to bed earlier when DD woke up screaming. It took me ages to calm her down, then she wanted feeding, and now I'm gripped with waves of nausea like you wouldn't believe

very early morning sickness anyone?

twinklingfairy · 25/03/2008 01:01

I have just finished a bag of salt and vinegar crisps too But only cos it was the only thing I could find.
I really am going to have to fill my cupboards with something better to snack on than chocolate and crisps!
Can too many apples do you any harm?

Looks like last nights early night was a one off, for now.
Back to my night owl ways.
But have now finished making up DD's blanket. Am now gilding the lilly by wasting time putting a small edge all around, but have started so feel I should finish.

Sorry, all I seem to talk about in my knitting. I will think of betters things to warble on about, I promise.

Wish I was 8 weeks daisy even 6 would be good Roca but I am just past 5 weeks and, if everyones scans are anything to go by, I will no doubt lose days too.
Ah well.

Hope you enjoyed your weddings emmanj and mummyannabella. You must tell us how you got on aviding any questions.
Or maybe people were infuriating and didn't ask
