Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

Well done MTOFN.

Hope everyone is having a very relaxing weekend. I have had a morning nap on the sofa already!

MummyToOneForNow · 03/02/2008 10:42

DD woke up at 7 and doesn't seem remotely interested in a nap yet so I think I will have to wait... v tired at the moment!

Thanks for letting me know where to go. I feel like I am being poisened. I am honestly normally such a healthy person with no medical conditions. I am also not one to moan! I am worried that I will develope a dvt now as I cant seem to find the strength to move. I am on the sofa with the laptop next to me. I have ate two bites of toast and drank a glass of water. So far kept it down but feel so nauseous. Dh has took Ds to the shops for a jigsaw. I am well going to the docs again in the morning this cant be normal can it?

Thanks leonieD I really needed to hear that. I am going to really try and stop feeling so sorry for myself and get some motivation here. I also have a three year old, work, playgroups and the usual to do. Just wish I had more energy in my legs. Good luck with the mw tomorrow.

Hello all - just to say visit from the (non) in laws went well. After some initial shock, mum was pleased and she wears the trousers in that family. Dad clearly not so sure - no congratulations or smiles (what is wrong with some people?)- but whatevs, at least they didn't upset my boyf or me. And then they helped out with some DIY so what more can I ask really? Anyway, phew!

Am feeling absolutely rotten physically - to the point where I keep wondering if I've picked up a virus or something, as well as continual nausea and fatigue. But I don't think so. Boyf is being lovely and helpful but am DREADING work. My mum is a GP and I am plaguing her with moany phonecalls - she is refusing to give me 'false hope' and says I should expect another five weeks of this. NOOOO!

hopefully · 03/02/2008 16:28

I've been feeling absolutely fine all weekend, which is really nice, but equally I want my weekday tiredness back to reassure me everything's still ok! I'm still getting weird food preferences- something that I can't live without one day will make me feel sick the next, so Im guessing that's good.

Been a domestic goddess today - made flapjacks and tomato and ricotta tart to take to work with me for snacking on, as I'm spending far too much money on food at work!

charitygirl · 03/02/2008 16:33

So jealous - wish I felt up to cooking yummy things.

Wish I felt up to cooking too However, I have managed to put a m&s cumberland pie in the oven and eat a bit of that. I have made progress this afternoon. I have managed to wash my hair and play mr potatoe heads with ds.

LittleConnie · 03/02/2008 17:17

that's great news charitygirl... really pleased the visit went well. am starting to feel a big urge to tell dps and ILs the news, but it's still so early and i just don't want to jinx it, esp after mc in october.

mamamufin and leonied i felt exactly the same all day yesterday, couldn't move from the sofa and i really don't know you manage when you've already got kids! utmost respect to you both. also went a bit psycho and tearful on dh last night when he wasn't being particularly sympathetic - just wish he could feel like this for a day! anyway feeling much perkier today so enjoying it while it lasts...

becaroo · 03/02/2008 19:21

Hello all.

Went to Chatsworth yesterday and took ds sledding. I am proud to say I managed to achieve terminal velocity on my way down the hill

Was so tired after we got back I went to bed for an hour!

Feel really very sick now...and much worse at night just like with my ds. I suppose thats good?

Roll on scan day on wednesday.........!

DebitheScot · 03/02/2008 20:16

very very very very very becaroo that you went sledging! I want snow [sulk emotion]

Pidge · 03/02/2008 20:20

Nice shiny new thread!

I had an absolutely gruelling day yesterday - my Christmas present from dp was to go on a cake decorating course and it was absolutely brilliant, but it involved leaving home at 6.55am and not returning till 6pm! With the result that today I have been like a zombie, plus I am feeling properly sick for the first time, rather than just a bit queasy, and am only 6 weeks, so I know the horror I have ahead of me.

Anyway, am off to chew a cracker and crawl into bed!

workstostaysane · 03/02/2008 20:28

hello all, have not been around for a while - went off on a thread about unassisted childbirth which was interesting.
hopefully can you post your recipe for tomato and ricotta tart? it sounds gorgeous. i can't eat a thing except toast and marmite. and this weekend i moved huge sofas and chairs into our house which i think has wiped me out a bit.

i did say to dh at one point 'i am pregnant you know',
DH: 'how are you feeling?
ME: I'm ok at the moment.
DH: good. Then lets lift this sofa over the banister and try and slide it through the door from up there.

ugh. he did take care of dd for most of the afternoon though while i collapsed in a heap.

hi all
have been very quiet, sorry. was feeling good all last week then yesterday was tempted to eats some crisps with the kids that someone had left after our bbq and i have felt sick ever since. very sick I guess its my own fault. I must say that cheesecae sounds nice....

hopefully · 04/02/2008 09:06

Worktostaysane, will post my tomato/ricotta tart recipe this evening - it is absolutely gorgeous! I am so impressed with myself. Even though I totally followed it from a recipe book...

I really feel for those of you who are properly sick. I'm getting very mild nausea pretty much every evening, and I daren't let myself get hungry, as the hunger pangs make me want to vomit, but apart from that, I only have the odd day when i feel really sick. The tiredness is killing me still though. I never thought it was possible to feel tired for weeks on end while getting a reasonable amount of sleep every night!

Spoke to dp yesterday about going back to work after maternity leave, and he's pretty understanding about the fact that I really don't want to if at all possible. Think he's a bit scared about being the main earner though!

bogie · 04/02/2008 09:12

Hello everyone not much to say i havent been sick again but i feel sick if i don't eat anything for a couple of hours so i'm snacking all day.
Everyone from both sides of the family know now after i went in hospital dp told my mum who told someone else who told someone else and so on.

becaroo we didn't have any snow and i really want to go sledging

hope everyone stops being so sick

mamamufin · 04/02/2008 09:13

Morning all.
No snow this end either .
Leonied my m&s dish went much the same way urgh! I have really come to expect this.

Are you thinking of an unassisted childbirth worktostaysame? I wanted one last time but ended up with all drugs, three epidurals (I could only feel one side), an episiotomy, ventouse, forceps, tear, post partum haemorage and fifty plus stitches. It does not always work out. I am now thinking of an elective c section asd at least its controlled.

Anyway mary poppins ( my dm) is on her way down. She lives about 100 miles away from us and has decided to come and stay for a few days after one of my distressed calls.

feelingpositive · 04/02/2008 09:33

Morning Girls

Well I too have graduted from mild nausea to having brought up my breakfast...! I have obviously hit the 6 week mark too. That followed by a stonking nappy from DD this morning - charming!

DD (18 months) now points at my tummy and says 'bubba' which is cute, as long as she is not confusing the word for 'blubba' I am happy that she is in on our little secret too.

Hope the rest of you are feeling reassuringly ill, but not too bad - such a thin line isn't it. If I don't feel sick I worry, then if I do feel sick I am reassured but feeling sick!!

mustsleep · 04/02/2008 10:09

nope i still feel sick!!!

and i got nowhere with my boss regarding a risk assessment, she actually shouted one of the ladys from the office and they actually laughed about me even asking!!

i asked to be oput somewhere with no stairs and she said no!! i hate me job and would quit if i didn;t really need the cash

i think i will report them now and that will teach them to be so rude!!

mamamufin · 04/02/2008 10:32

Feel for you mustsleep. Are you entitled to any sick pay? I have been signed off with my severe ms. Could you go down this route?

hopefully · 04/02/2008 10:35

Mustsleep you must report your boss's behaviour to someone who can force her to give you a proper risk assessement and put you on lower risk work if necessary. I'm sure someone on MN will know the appropriate people to report them to if you don't already know, but they are definitely not fulfililng their obligations as an employer to consider your pregnancy in terms of health and safety. In fact I am getting extremely cross on your behalf!

I am actually working hard today, astoundingly. I am so sick of work though, it's importance in my life has just totally paled in comparison to having a baby and I am really struggling to focus.
