May 2022!
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 24/08/2021 16:41
Thought I’d start a thread for those who have recently had a bfp and due in May 2022.
I’m 3w6d and due on 4th May. This will be my third baby I have a 4 and a 2 year old.
How is everyone feeling? I’m happy as I’ve been trying for a few months but still a little stunned and know it’s very early so trying not to get too excited yet!
No real symptoms yet apart from a bit of cramping. Felt a bit sick yesterday but ok today. I had really bad morning sickness from 6 weeks in my last 2 pregnancies so hoping it won’t be as bad this time.
lapeonia · 25/08/2021 09:19
Thank you for the thread! I got my bfp yesterday morning.
Current estimated due date is also 4th May (or could be 1st, depends on the cycle length which I'm not sure of). This will be our second baby. Will briefly have two under two if this little one is a sticky bean!
Symptoms: I have been feeling so very tired, pee constantly, cramping, sore nipples... been taking cheap ebay pregnancy tests for nearly a week now (all neg) and yesterday morning noticed the faintest line ever.. so got a first response test, which showed the clearest line ever! I was so surprised as in my head I had written this cycle off.
I want to feel excited and happy. A few things in life have made it so that it is not the ideal time for baby nr 2, but also due to various reasons we can't really wait with having another one.
And as you said, it is still very early. Anxious time ahead waiting to reach some pregnancy milestones!
Are you going to contact the gp/midwives already?
GingerbreadHead · 25/08/2021 11:18
Hello!
Got my first bfp yesterday which was a total shock!! We've been trying about 4 months, but I struggle with ttc and it usually takes a lot longer!
This is my fifth baby, my others are 17 months, 3, 6 and 9, all girls!
Keeping everything crossed for a sticky bean. Was feeling really breathless the other day which is what prompted me to test, few cramps and sore boobs.
My due date is also 4th May, would make a cool birthday I think!
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 25/08/2021 15:38
Oh wow we are all due on 4th May so far!
@lapeonia I had 2 under 2. There are 18 months between my first two and I love it, they are so close. They can fight over toys but 99% of them time they are great friends and adore each other.
@GingerbreadHead wow all girls! I wonder what you will have this time. I have 2 boys so I can’t seem to imagine myself with a girl but we will see!
Feel so tired today. The last couple of nights I’ve had to get up to have a wee which i remember from my last 2 pregnancies. Very annoying as our bathroom is downstairs so I have to turn the light on and go downstairs by which time I am very much awake.
Got a very bad headache today which I’m assuming is hormone related!
I’ve downloaded the self referral form to fill in to get booked in with the midwives and I will send it back at some point this week. Last time they booked me in right away though. I think you usually wait until 7-8 weeks but they did it that same week so it felt a bit strange seeing them so early on!
BlueMediterranean · 25/08/2021 20:23
Hi all!
I found out yesterday, my due date is 1st May. This is my first one.
We were trying for a year and we were quite worry this will never happen. My boyfriend did a sperm test and looks like the speed is below average. Well, at least one was fast
I have no symptoms, yesterday I call the GP and they told me to choose a hospital and fill a referral, I did this yesterday and nobody call yet.
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 26/08/2021 07:56
Congratulations @BlueMediterranean and @BelliniButterfly
I was also worried about a chemical as I first got a line on a test at 10dpo which is the earliest positive I’ve had but also got a clearblue digital saying 2-3 weeks at 13dpo and googled it and apparently you need a hcg level of over 152 to get that so fingers crossed that’s a positive sign and everything is progressing as it should.
I have a weird cycle usually where I get my period 7-8 days after ovulation so I knew pretty early on when it didn’t arrive that something might be up! We were trying for about 6 months which doesn’t sound much but felt so long at the time!
GingerbreadHead · 26/08/2021 11:20
@BelliniButterfly Ooh 4th baby is exciting! I thought i was done at 4 too, but just couldnt shake the feeling that I wanted one more as she's gotten older!
Congrats @BlueMediterranean! The waiting is awful isn't it. My second took 18 months and each one felt like forever!
[email protected] Im pretty sure it will be another girl I'm not sure I can make anything else!!
Been feeling a bit nauseous the last couple of days, but don't know if that's just because I know now I'm imagining it!
My lines have been pretty faint so I think I might try a CB to see what it says too.
lapeonia · 27/08/2021 10:59
My lines havent got darker too. Got the CB digital weeks test yesterday and it only showed 1-2 weeks (which its meant to show from ovulation so I guess it adds up? LMP 28th July, est dd 4th may), not sure what I expected to see!
Keep having this scary gut feeling though, like this bubba will not stick and stay with us. Longest wait ever!
I contacted the gp and they’ve arranged my booking appointment for end of September when i should be 8 weeks. I have high bmi though so know I need higher dose of folic acid, wonder if it’s worth trying to get a prescription for it before that appointment as I know its most important in these early weeks?
So lovely to read all your messages though, first baby is such an exciting new journey, but number 4 and 5 - wow you ladies are incredible!
GingerbreadHead · 28/08/2021 06:52
@lapeonia I also need the higher dose folic acid! I was looking on amazon and ebay to get it from there, there's a few options but I guess you don't really know what you're buying don't really want to have make a gp appointment though just for it!
I know just what you mean about the gut feeling. These early weeks are so nerve wracking. Fingers crossed it's only good news for all of us!
I keep meaning to get some of the CB digital, intrigued to see what they say, wasn't sure if they'd go from conception or last period date!
lapeonia · 28/08/2021 07:02
Just read my message back, I’ve written it down wrong! Ahh - baby brain?? Haha. But yes you are correct the CB digital is from conception not ovulation or LMP…
Addicted to testing, I did another cheap one yesterday morning which was a smidge darker than before! I know incessant testing is definitely not required, but I just remember seeing that reallly strong line with my first.
How are you all doing? Last two days I haven’t felt any more symptoms as such, maybe more tired and thirsty than usual. I also keep, maybe not forgetting, but not thinking about this for hours on end, so much so that I wanted to buy cider for this weekend and had to remind myself that I definitely do not want to buy that while in the booze aisle.
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 28/08/2021 14:56
I’ve got one last clearblue test. My first one said 2-3 weeks when I was 13 dpo so I’m hoping if I do one when I’m 5 weeks it will say 3+ weeks just to give me peace of mind. If it still says 2-3 I will obviously panic and buy hundreds more tests
I’ve had lots of cramping this morning which worries me. I keep expecting to find blood but so far nothing. I had this in my first 2 pregnancies so I know it’s normal it just feels so much like period cramps it’s hard not to worry!
I’ve self referred to my midwife team and got a letter in the post yesterday with my 12 week scan date. It’s not until 25th October so I have ages to wait but it is nice to have a specific date to look forward to.
@lapeonia have you tried alcohol free kopparberg? I had one the other night as I fancied something like cider and it was really nice.
Having a fairly lazy day today. Took my eldest into town to buy school shoes today as he’s starting reception soon. My husband has taken them both to the park this afternoon so I’m enjoying a rest while I can.
CupCalamity · 28/08/2021 23:09
Congratulations everyone!
Can I join in.. we've been TTC first baby for about 4 months and I got a BFP on 25th August . My cycles are fairly unpredictable, so I'm unsure when that actually makes my due date. I think 7th May if I use an average length of 31 days, would that be right to do?
We're excited but I'm feeling more nervous than I expected to... just have this fear that it'll just be chemical pregnancy and a long cycle, or something else will go wrong. Silly really because there's no point worrying until it happens!
I've been having cramping but no bleeding. Reassuring to read you had cramping in your other pregnancies and all was ok @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat.
LJAKS · 29/08/2021 10:29
BFP this morning and I'm in shock.
This will be my second. DD1 was a horrific pregnancy and ended up with a congenital condition that has a 50/50 survival rate so I'm high risk. Im just terrified tbh and not hopeful. Until I have a healthy baby on or around
May 1st I don't think it will sink in!
aNewYorkerInLondon · 30/08/2021 03:12
Hello Ladies! I'm so happy to have found you! I had my BFP on Thursday morning and the online date calculator estimates due date as 6th May. I'm 41 and this is my first, so this is a completely new experience for me. I've been feeling a fairly constant light pressure and pinching in my uterus, which is, I think, within normal. I've been testing every morning since Thursday because it makes me feel better that they keep giving the same answer. I used one of those clear blue ones with the weeks indicator, which said 2-3 weeks since ovulation (which I believe to have been on the 12th), so that's in line. I've also had a funny little headache (but not bad enough to take a paracetamol), but that was mostly better today. I would really like to tell my mother, as she is back in the States and I'd like her to feel included, but she's TERRIBLE at keeping secrets, so I'm not sure whether to tell her in a week or so or tell her after I pass the 12-week milestone. I really want to tell her, but I also really don't want others to know until 12 weeks. Any advice on this?
Funny note: I just woke up and tested automatically, not realizing that it was just 2am and not morning. Good strong result though, I think.
LJAKS · 30/08/2021 07:13
@aNewYorkerInLondon a good friend said to me that whether you tell people or don't has no impact on the outcome. She's got a point definitely. I'm still telling no one though 😂 I say that, I can't hold my water under normal circumstances so no chance I'll keep a lid on it but I will try 🥴 good luck!
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 31/08/2021 08:26
And welcome @aNewYorkerInLondon and congratulations!
I am also having the same issue regarding telling my mum. She is lovely but a complete blabbermouth 😂 Im not telling anyone except dh yet it still feels too early. I think I’ll end up telling my nct group (from my first baby) as we are going for a bottomless brunch at the start of October and it would be extremely out of character for me to not have a drink! 😂 I’ll be about 8-9 weeks by then so fingers crossed all is ok at that point I’ll probably be ok to share the news
