Hey Ellie! Tx for starting a new thread.

Second (or more!) timers ... did any of you find out the baby's sex at the 20 week scan but then subsquently wish you hadn't? I am in two minds about whether to find out at the next scan.

I want to know what I´m having & hope to find out on 29th Nov as have a scan booked with a private gynae - can´t wait. I have to know so that I can get organised

I am tempted to find out so I can start shopping. A couple of people said that I shouldn't find out as it is like opening your Christmas presents early!

just been catching up; all the posts had me giggling out loud!

I'm off work today - me and ds were up all night with a sick bug . Finally had my first hour where i've managed not to throw up - poor old me.

It can't be food poisonig as me and ds didn't eat any of the same things yest so must be a bug. do u think i should be worried about baby?

Paranoidmummy - it sounds like a bug that will pass and will unlikely do any harm to the baby but if in doubt call/visit your Doctor and that will put your mind to rest.

I'm a first timer and I'm definitely going to find out the sex of the baby. I don't mind either way what it is but it will be nice to know and will still be a surprise at week 20. when it comes out it will be a surprise to see what he or she looks like!

thanks molly, my dh will be home soon so may call my midwife then. Don't feel I could drive myself there!

We are going to wait to find out...think it is the only way I can control myself from buying all the super cute little bits and pieces I keep seeing!

I think the temptation will be too much and I will find out after all. I always did sneak a peak at my Christmas presents early anyhow!

My cousin gave me a Bella Band, I was trying it last night. Anyone else got one? It allows you to wear your regular unbuttoned trousers/jeans for longer and then it helps keep up your maternity jeans, etc if they are a little big.

My regular trousers were consigned to a drawer a long time ago As I can´t sew for toffee I´ve got to wait until my mum comes out at Xmas to take up my maternity jeans & I can´t wait as she bought them in Ireland and they´re gorgeous - spoilt me

Soph... that was nice of your mum. I get the drycleaner to do all my sewing, I would make a hames of it!

smcg we found out sex with ds3 (wasnt available with first 2) and were GLAD we did,, partly because it helped us bond in the whole has he got DS worry, but being able to name baby and just think of him as He rather than It helped a lot. Unless baby is in a strange position will now this one in a weeka nd cant wait!

Thanks Peachy. I feel bad calling the baby "it" so it will be nice not to have to do that!

smcg - I have one of those bands and it is wonderful. Wear it everyday, either over my maternity jeans OR my normal ones - to keep them up.
