Thanks turtle!

merryberry · 08/10/2007 12:14

uhoh, so still no update from clapham lauren?

preggersagain · 08/10/2007 12:24

ooh turtle i have the same thing- sickness accompanied by a banging headache- i'm thinking the two were connected!

Hopefully the sickness will be a distant nightmare soon! poor dh is getting tired of cleaning the loo 5 times a day- nothing worse than hanging your head over a not so fresh toilet

turtle23 · 08/10/2007 12:43

My sickness was a teeth-cleaning thing. I brushedmy teeth and puked, so then had to brush my teeth...you see where this is going.
ClaphamLauren...please be ok! Let us know you're alright!

Afternoon Ladies!

Sorry not been in touch, been out of it on Codeine since Friday afternoon. Have an x-ray booked for Thursday afternoon if my swelling/pain hasn't gone down - didn't want to do one on Friday night as they want to rule out muscle damage but they did keep me in hospital on a drip for pain relief as I couldn't keep tablets down. Really struggling at work today and feeling very drowsy as still on the meds! Wondering if anyone would notice if I slept at my desk?

Glad the meet went well on Saturday, definitely want to make the next one. Was scanning the old thread and very jealous that you all have scans soon, mine doesn't happen until 23 weeks for some reason.

Aww poor turtle and preggers, fingers crossed it's a short term thing.

My lovely friend sold me her Stokke Xplory, barely used and less than 10 months old for £300 yesterday so that perked me up no end! Saved me an absolute fortune as she paid £860 for the whole lot and has hardly used it as she was a sling baby for the first six months, then baby was at childminders so only used it at the weekend and now she is pregnant again so has just bought a double buggy. Result

e14mum · 08/10/2007 13:45

Turtle, totally know what you mean about teeth-brushing! although it usually makes me just gag, not throw up, but that's nasty too.

Have spoken to my physio-next-desk-mate who thinks I should stick a pillow between my knees when I sleep and wear a bump band for a while to see if hips stop hurting. Phew...

Glad to hear from you ClaphamLauren. Sounds great about the Stokke too. We've been Bugabooed here! Got a good deal on an almost new one on ebay and it's now sitting in our nursery... love it.

derah · 08/10/2007 14:21

Hello ladies

How are you this rather dull Monday? DH and I were sure it was Sunday this morning for some reason so we didn't get up until DD started to get noisy in her cot at 8:30!! He flew down the stairs and out the door to work when we realised it was Monday!! The poor dogs only got a short walk this morning before I had to rush off with DD to swimming lessons. Oh well, if DD doesn't sleep for too long this afternoon I'll take them for a longer walk later.

Anyway, exciting news is that my lovely new fridge/freezer arrived just after lunch! Our old one came with the house, and a) it's silver and covered in yellow paint, b) the door seals don't work so the freezer is hard to close and keeps getting defrosted, c) there's a glacier in the fridge that keeps spreading and eating things as it grows and d) the fridge keeps randomly freezing my vegetables - nothing worse than a soggy frozen cucumber!!

So, lovely new fridge/freezer is 200cm tall, so lots and lots of space, is white and shiny, and is completely frost free so no chance of glaciers! I'm so very excited!!!

Right, I'm going to flop in front of the TV while DD naps - feeling lazy today!

gingercat12 · 08/10/2007 14:41

ClaphamLauren It is good to hear from you. Hope the pain will subside...

Turtle and e14mum I cannot stand cleaning my teeth either. It is not very nice.

gingercat12 · 08/10/2007 14:42

derah Am envious of your lovely new fridge/freezer

daisynova · 08/10/2007 14:49

Hi everyone,

I'm actually due on 2nd April but have been told that I will be induced 2 weeks earlier due to having type 1 diabetes.

I have had a very rough pregnancy so far plagued with morning, noon and night sickness and also high blood pressure that is causing severe headaches. Been off work now for almost 3 weeks because of it all.

Looking forward to hearing about how you all feel so I don't feel so alone in this pregnancy - I live overseas on my husband's posting so don't have any family or friends to help me.

imjin100 · 08/10/2007 14:51

hello daisynova, sorry you've had such a rotten time and I hope gradually you'll start to feel better.
I know there are a few people on here who aren't with their families so I hope you'll find lots of cyber support!
Take care of yourself.

imjin100 · 08/10/2007 14:52

derah, I have white goods envy too!!

daisynova · 08/10/2007 15:14

Thanks Imjin x

derah · 08/10/2007 15:36

Welcome Daisynova! Sorry you've been having such a rough time, and without any support from family. You'll get lots of support on here! Where are you?

Heh heh to the white goods envy!! We've had to get a new oven, washing machine and dishwasher with the new house (been here a year now), and now the new fridge too. I love my appliances!! Such a lucky girl!

Now all I need is a new sofa. We got ours second hand as a temporary measure, 2.5 yrs later we still have it and I HATE IT!!!

daisynova · 08/10/2007 15:43

Hi derah, I am in Amsterdam which I hate. Nice for a weekend trip but not the best place to live in when feeling rubbish!

I love new appliances! We are trying to buy our first house in the UK and I am really excited about buying things like a dishwasher and washing machine - how sad are we????

e14mum · 08/10/2007 15:54

Nope, not sad daisy! We got new appliances with our flat in Feb and I was so proud/excited about them! Didn't realise you could feel that way about appliances

merryberry · 08/10/2007 16:17

smile

claphamlauren, that plan sounds better than your work's gp. talking of work, you're at work, why? If there is stuff must be done, can you work from home?

hello daisynova, welcome to the march board, and i hope the bp/diabetes thing is not worrying you too much. when do you move back? to an area you know?

derah, i don't have white good envy, just congrats to you. that's because my house is rammed full with shiny new white stuff since we moved in march. happy days.

3madboys · 08/10/2007 16:26

hello all

hope you are ok clapham, rest up if you can

i am excited but nervous about my scan on friday, but it will be nice to see the bean again we have managed to arrange childcare so we will be able to go on our own, some child free time, to go and look at the next baby

daisynova · 08/10/2007 17:16

Thanks MerryBerry - we are due to leave here on 31st July 2009 - 661 days and counting!

HolidaysQueen · 08/10/2007 17:34

Hello daisynova!

Claphamlauren - so pleased you are doing okay (although you should get yourself back home!) and that the hospital seems to have a sensible approach to treating you!

Moop - saw your qn on the other board about pains. I've been having all sorts of tight feelings, shooting pains, discomfort in my tummy since about week 6. I do find it worse when I'm tired (I did loads of walking this weekend and it was worse because of it). So long as it isn't more than a momentary stabbing pain, or just a dull ache then I think it is just growing pains / ligaments stretching. My babycentre email this week actually says this as well, so it is clearly quite common (even though no books ever seem to mention it!)

My 20 week scan is ages away - not even having it until 22 weeks which is another 6 weeks away for me! So I won't be able to see my bean and give you good news until 22nd November!!!

Sorry to miss you all this weekend, but I ate some lovely carrot cake in sympathy :-)

HQ xx

tori32 · 08/10/2007 17:38

Hope all you MS sufferers get better soon.

daisynova welcome to the thread of pie and cake eaters!! Complete sympathy for the lack of close friend and family support. Mine live 5 hrs drive away so I know where you are at. We're based in Dorset, family in Lancashire. Lots of lovely people here though, good cyber support!

Lauren I hope you feel better soon and the pain subsides, you were in all our thoughts on Saturday.

Thankfully I am having a good week, DH is off work so is helping lots . Anyway, got to go as dinner is now served by DH! Happy days

piggyp · 08/10/2007 18:52

Hello DaisyNova, sorry you've been having a tough time. My family are five hours drive away - and I don't have any good friends in the area, but it must be worse to be abroad (unless you are somewhere sunny!)
I had a panic at the weekend as my tummy went really hard suddenly and has been quite uncomfortable - mw said all normal!
Scan next thursday and I'm really nervous about it!

glammama · 08/10/2007 19:04

Hello Daisynova and welcome. I must admit I'm a bit of you in Amsterdam. We were/are planning on moving out there. I think the way children are brought up there. Apparently Dutch children are the happiest in Europe. However, not much use to you if you don't like it there. Everyone else, have a nice evening. Post Brownie club feeding frenzy imminent so better get myself in the kitchen.

glammama · 08/10/2007 19:04

I like the way children are brough up. AAggh, my poxy proof reading.
